Good things come to those who wait! There are now three new posters for Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Tom Hardy as Ricki Tarr, Colin Firth’s Bill Haydon and Mark Strong’s Jim Prideaux have gotten digitized to match the poster of Gary Oldman’s George Smiley that was released a month or so ago. If these three are greeted with as much enthusiasm, the producers may gift us with posters for the rest of the stellar cast.
For those of you that just got back from that lunar vacation (I’m sure there is no wi-fi on Moonbase Alpha), Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is a big screen version of the John Le Carre novel set during the Cold War in swinging 60′s London. It was famously filmed for television back in the 1970′s with Sir Alec Guinness as superspy George Smiley, now being played by Gary Oldman. The plot revolves around the hunt for a “mole” within the upper echelons of British intelligence. Smiley is brought out of semi-retirement to ferret out the Russian mole at the heart of the ‘Circus’ (MI6′s HQ in London’s Cambridge Circus. That’s ‘circle’ for us non-Brits) The only thing we know for sure is that nothing is what it seems. *shiver* Can’t freakin’ wait!
In addition to those listed above, the cosmic cast includes John Hurt, Ciaran Hinds, Simon McBurney, Benedict Cumberbatch (More “Sherlock” please!), Toby Jones and Stephen Graham.
The lucky Brits get to see this movie on 16 September, almost a full two months ahead of us here in North America. We don’t get the goods until November 11. I smell a conspiracy.
