Russell Armstrong’s Lawyer and Ex-Wife Blame Taylor Armstrong For His Suicide, But Perhaps It Was The Upcoming Explosive ‘Tell-All’

Russell Armstrong’s Lawyer and Ex-Wife Blame Taylor Armstrong For His Suicide, But Perhaps It Was The Upcoming Explosive ‘Tell-All’

Russell Armstrong’s Lawyer and Ex-Wife Blame Taylor Armstrong For His Suicide, But Perhaps It Was The Upcoming Explosive ‘Tell-All’

Earlier today, Russell Armstrong’s ex-wife Barbara Frederickson told Radar Online that Taylor Armstrong ‘drove’ her husband to suicide saying:

“I don’t care for her at all. I think she’s the reason for this,” “She’s not who she says she is and I told him to please be careful with this woman… I warned him! She’s bad news and she drove him into this.” “I think she [Taylor] drove him into financial stress and it just ruined him.”

While I personally thought Russell was a bit of a douche (sorry I’m not going to all of a sudden change my tune), I would never wish this on anyone. However, that being said, what I totally don’t understand is how people like to play the blame game when something this devastating happens. It serves no purpose other than to show how toxic a person is.

Her accusations cross over a line that is not only slanderous, it’s tasteless (to say the least). No one makes another commit suicide (because then it would be murder) and as horrible as suicide is, when someone is truly so distraught it is unfortunately very rare that others can help them.

His lawyer Ronald Richards did a video tape with TMZ and also blamed Taylor (more or less) for Russell’s financial problems stating all of his money went to Taylor’s (and the daughter’s) lifestyle. What is curious is that he went on to say, had he known his client’s finances were so bad, he would have done work for free. I’m sure a Beverly Hills lawyer’s rates aren’t exorbitant? I wonder how much of Russell’s finances went to legal fees in addition to his wife’s lifestyle.

The fabulous people of Starcasm published two articles back in January about Russell’s criminal past that probably had much more to do with his financial issues than his wife’s lifestyle.

I didn’t know Russell Armstrong, nor do I know his widow Taylor Armstrong or anyone in their circle, but based on that, and the latest from Radar Online that a new ‘tell-all’ book was coming out, it seems to me his own past is what led to his suicide.

This tell-all was said to be explosive and was going to include all of the many alleged skeletons in his closets such as sexual indiscretions that may be considered deviant behavior that would be shocking. Apparently several of his exes were going to be coming out and going on the record in this book.

Russell had recently learned of this and according to Radar he was quite disturbed by this. Apparently a suicide note was not left (as has been reported thus far) but regardless, to throw blame at someone for someone else’s suicide when there are many other aspects at play here, to me, is sick.

Taylor is said to be absolutely devastated by this (put yourself in her shoes and you would feel much the same way) and has a young daughter to still tell.  Her attorney Robert Thorne has issued a statement on her behalf:

“Taylor Armstrong is devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded. She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out  to Russell Armstrong’s family including his two older sons with Barbara Frederickson.

If you or anyone you know is suicidal, help can be found at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

WATCH Lady GaGa’s Video Yoü and I

WATCH Lady GaGa's Video Yoü and I

Lady GaGa’s Video Yoü and I from her album Born This Way ‘leaked’ (which means she released it early on her own YouTube page ahead of the Thursday MTV scheduled release).

What do you think of it? It’s very Country-ish, don’t you think? I don’t understand art (at all) so this video is a bit lost on me other than she’s talking about someone she did in a bar (we can all relate to that, yes?). Do you recognize the ‘guy’ on the piano? That’s Lady GaGa as a dude. Very convincing although when I first saw ‘him’ I thought ‘he’ looked familiar.

However, let’s turn our attention to the guy that is with her when she’s a mermaid.  Mommy likes.

Lady GaGa took to Twitter with an ‘explanation’ of the video (which makes me even more lost):

You must love all + every part of me, as must I, for this complex + incomprehensible force to be true.

Um, okay. Watch the video and let us know your thoughts.

Gerard Butler’s Machine Gun Preacher to Get a Gala Screening at TIFF!

Gerard Butler's Machine Gun Preacher to Get a Gala Screeningat TIFF!

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s poster release, it was announced today that Marc Forster’s Machine Gun Preacher, already slated for its World Premiere, has been chosen to get the full red carpet gala treatment at the Toronto International Film Festival!

Starring Gerard Butler as the very real Rev. Sam Childers, Machine Gun Preacher tells the story of Sam’s conversion from drug-dealing biker to ordained preacher, orphan saving biker.

The official TIFF synopsis: Machine Gun Preacher is an inspirational true story, about Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing criminal who undergoes an astonishing transformation and finds an unexpected calling as the saviour of hundreds of kidnapped and orphaned children. Gerard Butler (300) delivers a searing performance (emphasis mine) as Childers in Golden Globe®-nominated director Marc Forster’s (Monster’s Ball, Finding Neverland) moving story of violence and redemption. Machine Gun Preacher was previously announced as a Special Presentation.

It’s no secret I’m eagerly awaiting this one, in fact I can barely type as I’m doing the “demented poodle dance” right now. I haven’t even seen it yet but I’m still beyond thrilled that the film and G’s performance are getting the kind of attention that it’s been getting. The good kind. The kind that an actor who wants to be taken seriously and appreciated for his craft yearns for.

A trailer is due soon. Watch this space for more.

First Look at Rachel Weisz in Page Eight!

First Look at Rachel Weisz in Page Eight!

Here’s a first look at Rachel Weisz, Bill Nighy and Ralph Fiennes in another TIFF entry, David Hare’s Page Eight. It just started filming last January so I don’t think anyone expected the movie would be finished so quickly. Rachel Weisz, who is going to become the dreaded ‘ubiquitous’ after she’s done promoting everything she’s got coming out in the next few months, stars as political activist (something she does well and is becoming her specialty) Nancy Pierpan. Bill Nighy is an MI5 operative, the great Michael Gambon is the head of security services. The title refers to the page number of a top secret document around which the plot revolves.

Official synopsis: Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy) is a long-serving M15 officer. His boss and best friend Benedict Baron (Michael Gambon) dies suddenly, leaving behind him an inexplicable file, threatening the stability of the organization. Meanwhile, a seemingly chance encounter with Johnny’s striking next-door neighbour and political activist Nancy Pierpan (Rachel Weisz) seems too good to be true. Set in London and Cambridge, Page Eight is a contemporary spy film which addresses intelligence issues and moral dilemmas peculiar to the new century. Also stars Ralph Fiennes and Judy Davis.

What’s bizarre about this, after Toronto, where it will have a gala screening, Page Eight is going to television. PBS will air it later in the year as part of the Masterpiece Theater series. (The same thing happened with Pete Travis’ Endgame, although it did end up with a limited (very limited) theatrical release.)

Immortals Gets a 3rd Trailer!

Immortals Gets a 3rd Trailer!

Seems now that we’re closer to the release date, the producers of Tarsem Singh’s Immortals have decided they need to give us more of an idea of what the thing is about, other than a glossy 300-esque look at some hot guys running around shirtless I mean.

Thanks to a voice over by John Hurt, who plays “Old Zeus”, we are given an overview of the plot and introduced to a lot of the cast. There’s Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion, Luke Evans as (young) Zeus, Frieda Pinto as Phaedra and of course, Henry Cavill as Theseus.

I certainly hope Frieda Pinto is given more to do than she was given in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Basically her role amounted to ‘beautiful girlfriend’ and she certainly has that down, but then she had it down in Slumdog Millionaire.

The script by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides tells the story of the Greek Gods and their mythic struggle against the Titans. King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man’s conflict so they are powerless to stop Hyperion until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill). chosen by Zeus in secret,  becomes their only hope. Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his bloodthirsty army of soldiers who have decimated Greece in search of a powerful weapon, the legendary Epirus Bow,  forged by Ares. He who possesses the bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge.

*claps wildly* I can’t wait! Immortals  will be unleashed everywhere on November 11.
