Move over Pippa – there’s  a new “It” girl in town!   Glee’s Lea Michele, 24 could sing her way into anyone’s heart  in this gorgeous  white sequin embroidered Marchesa dress with blue crystal Judith Leiber clutch that she wore to the 2011 Fox All Star Party at Gladstone’s Malibu in Los Angeles last week.

But what I really like are her simple, no-fuss waves .   Wouldn’t it be great to wake up every morning with hair like this?  The look is totally effortless, yet sophisticated and beautiful.

Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger is known for her direct, no-holds kind of approach when dealing with people and she doesn’t care if you are Jennifer Aniston or not. She has a warning for Jennifer Aniston about  Justin Theroux and that is: “something’s not right there.”

She tells Radar Online why she feels this way:

“I kind of like him, but here’s my problem — he was with the last girl for 15 or 16 years and one day in walks the girl of his dreams and he says bye, see ya, wouldn’t want to be ya! There’s a karmic payback for that.

Kind of like Brad Pitt, right? She goes on to say:

“He’s handsome and he likes her and she likes him, they’ve got good body language, so it’s a matter of what really went down that he jumped ship from this girl he lived with for 16 years, something’s not right there.”

The girl he was with for 16 years is Heidi Bevins. And while I personally don’t feel a woman can steel a man from another woman (I think the man is responsible for being stolen or not, if he wants to be with you he’ll be with you) it is quite surprising given that her ex-husband Brad Pitt left her for Angelina Jolie.

And while my first thought was this guy is a gold-digger Patti says this isn’t the case:

“This isn’t a poor schmuck.  This is a guy who produces a lot of movies he’s doing major movies this year, he’s acted. He can afford to get his own place.

“That tells me he jumped ship from one girl to the other. Then he moves in with her in LA, now they’re looking for a nicer house, it’s moving a little too fast.

Patti has a point. If he does something like that with you, he won’t think twice about doing it to you should the opportunity present itself.

“I think he had enough money he could have moved out to L.A., he could have gotten an apartment see how it goes and gone slower.  She might be moving too fast she might get hurt, burned.”

“I hope they work out, I hope this other woman who was left behind finds someone tomorrow.  I really feel bad for her. The best revenge would be to go out with his best friend!”

The new horror film from he mind of Guillermo del Toro and first time director Troy Nixey, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is about a young girl (of course) sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend, who discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own.  Coming from del Toro, I expect lots of bugs and religious iconography.

This trailer looks all kinds of creepy.

The adults are played by Guy Pearce, whom we love, and Katie Holmes. I don’t know what it is about Mrs. Cruise that fascinates me so. I was not one of those that grew up watching her as Joey on “Dawson’s Creek”, but I have seen the pre-Cruise Pieces of April. It’s a pretty good little indie and Katie can act. It’s too bad that she’s gotten painted with the crazy brush since marrying the ‘Hubbard-ized Couch Jumper’. She also has a very slight voice to go along with her waifish frame. I think for a film like this, just judging from what I’ve seen here, it works. She’s ‘the girlfriend’ not the wife and mother. While it may be a slight distinction to most, it is a distinction nonetheless and I have a feeling it matters to del Toro and will in some way relevant.

Mr. Harris is played by terrific Aussie character actor Jack Thompson.

I’m always up for a well made horror movie (I said horror, not mindless gore or torture-porn. You can keep Saws 1 thru 47 thank you very much) and del Toro has become the go-to guy for intelligent, well thought out heebie jeebies. Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark opens in the US & Canada on August 26 and in the UK on 21 October.

Teen Mom’s Gary Shirley is proving to be quite the responsible father having spent $5,000 on an 11-hour stripper bender. Wouldn’t that money have been better spent neutering Gary Shirley so that he doesn’t procreate?

TMZ is reporting that earlier this summer the stripper bender took place. The strippers should have been paid more than that given they will probably require therapy for much of the rest of their lives.

Gary visited a strip club in Miami where he dropped the money from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. starting out in the VIP room and moving to the private champagne room. The poor girls. There is not enough money on planet earth if you ask me.

Don’t worry Gary, it wasn’t about the money. Those strippers are really, really into you. Ha!

A couple of months ago we got our first look at Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomqvist and Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander. Now, thanks to Sony, we get a look at the other characters that people David Fincher’s English-language remake of Niels Arden Oplev’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!

I’m of two minds about these ‘character cards’. It’s great to get a look at Joely Richardson and Christopher Plummer in character. Plummer is, in my opinion, perfectly cast as Henrik Vanger. I am left to ponder, however, what the hell happened to Embeth Davidtz. Granted, it’s been awhile since I saw her in anything (probably 2005′s Junebug) but, she’s almost completely unrecognizable. (Seems to be a phenomenon exclusive to LA. Women over 40 starve themselves until they lose all of their body fat then have a facelift. Tragic. Maybe they need a telethon, an intervention at the very least.)

On the other hand, I’m wondering if they give too much away and are steering us in the direction they want us to go, rather than using the narrative of the film itself. Perhaps the producers are thinking that anyone interested is going to have read the books or seen the original film, which again begs the question, why make this version in the first place. I’m still not crazy about the poster. It seems to sexualize Lisabeth Salander and that would be missing the point entirely.

Oh well, I’ll let the character pics and descriptions speak for themselves. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opens in the US & Canada on December 21 and in the UK on 26 December.
