Harrison Ford Hates Smurfs (VIDEO)

Harrison Ford Hates Smurfs (VIDEO)

Harrison Ford hates smurfs and he has good reason to: the latest Smurf movie is up against his movie Cowboys & Aliens at the box office.

He paid a visit to Conan O’Brien promoting his movie and told a funny story about how his wife (Calista Flockhart) took their son to see the Smurfs and how he’s going to try to get that money back.

American Idol: NEW ‘The Smurfs’ TV Spot (Video)

Then he shows his true appreciation to the stuffed smurf.

Is it me or is Harrison getting funnier as he gets older? I don’t remember his delivery being quite so hysterical before.

Another New Poster for Three Musketeers 3D!

Another New Poster for Three Musketeers 3D!

Yes, it’s yet another new poster for Paul W. S. Anderson’s in-name-only re-imagining of that classic of French literature, The Tree Musketeers.  It certainly is…creative. But, um…what’s wrong with this picture? There are no musketeers on this poster for a movie called The Three Musketeers. Is it about flying ship? If one lived in a hole and didn’t know from whence the film got its title (side note: if you did live in a hole, why you’d be interested in going to the movies at all, let alone to see this film is up for some debate) then you certainly wouldn’t learn anything from looking at this poster.

Granted, there are some flying ships in Anderson’s film, but I wasn’t under the impression that they were the focus. Since this is obviously for the Korean film market, perhaps flying ships are more popular in Korea than swashbuckling heroes and maidens in hoop skirts, even ones that fly around like some many crouching tigers and hidden dragons. I could be wrong, but I could be right. (And yes, I know ninjas are Japanese.) I thought we’d be getting more of the individual character posters, since the only one we’ve seen so far is for Luke Evans as Aramis. Hopefully those will follow shortly.

Anderson’s film stars Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson (slurp), Logan Lerman, Mrs. Paul W.S. Anderson (Milla Jovovich), Christoph Waltz, Orlando Bloom, Juno Temple, Til Schweiger and Mads Mikkelsen (oh yes, please). The Three Musketeers and its flying ships sail into theaters 12 October in the UK and 21 October in the US & Canada.

New Images from Tintin!

New Images from Tintin!

Director Steven Spielberg is going to have two entries into this year’s awards season horse race, with his first films as director since 2008′sIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  One starring an actual horse, the appropriately titled, War Horse, and The Adventures of Tintin.

I saw the trailer for War Horse (that we showed you a couple of weeks ago) on the big screen this weekend. It’s impressive in the usual Spielbergian way. The colors are gorgeous, there are lots of closeups on the “Spielberg face” and the strings and trumpets of John Williams’ score all soar. I’m sure it will be wonderful and probably make me cry.

On the other hand is The Adventures of Tintin, which just looks like a lot of fun. Filmed using motion capture technology, it features the talents of Daniel Craig as Red Rackham, Andy Serkis as Capt. Haddock, Simon Pegg as Insp. Thompson, Nick Frost as Insp. Thomson, Toby Jones as Silk and Jamie Bell as Tintin.

The film is  based on a beloved Belgian comic by Herge. The character Tintin is a young journalist and in this particular adventure, written by Dr. Who show runner Steven Moffet,writer/directors Edgar Wright (Shaun of the DeadHot FuzzScott Pilgrim vs the World) and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block), Tintin and his friends discover an old map to a sunken ship commanded by Capt. Haddock’s ancestor and go off on a treasure hunt. The Adventures of Tintin is also the first animated film for Steven Spielberg. He originally wanted to do a live-action version, and asked Peter Jackson if his Weta Workshop would help with the CGI. Jackson, as a longtime fan of Tintin, convinced Spielberg that live action would not do justice to the comic books, and that motion capture was the best way to represent the world of Tintin. His dog Snowy is still CGI.

The adventure begins 26 October in the UK and December 23 in the US & Canada.

Jordin Sparks Shows Off New Ink And Amazing Abs! PHOTO

Jordin Sparks got some fresh new ink that she shared with her Twitter followers but more than that her abs are gorgeous. This girl has lost weight and got herself in amazing shape!

The 21 year old singer tweeted:

‘New tat on my rib cage…’Respira’ I love it. :)

She went on to explain the tattoo’s significance:

‘Respira’= Breathe. It’s for my time on ITH, the people I met there & a reminder to take a moment when things get crazy. <3′

She’s referring to her time on Broadway in the show In The Heights. When she first appeared on American Idol she was a size 14 and is now an 8 thanks to portion control and Zumba classes.

Congrats to Jordin on accomplishing her goal of getting healthy and fit. It looks fabulous on her.

First Look at Biker Ryan Gosling!

First Look at Biker Ryan Gosling!

Ryan Gosling is in upstate New York this summer filming The Place Beyond the Pines for his Blue Valentine director, Derek Cianfrance. He’s sporting an interesting look to say the least with bleached blonde hair and tatts. The ensemble he’s wearing while riding that bike is certainly a departure for him as well.

The Place Beyond the Pines is a crime drama in which a motorcycle stunt rider for a carnival, (Gosling) considers committing a crime in order to provide for his wife and child, an act that puts him on a collision course with a cop-turned-politician (Bradley Cooper). Written by the director, Cianfrance seems to have a slightly bigger budget for this film than for Blue Valentine. In addition to Gosling and Cooper, the film stars Eva Mendes, Greta Gerwig, Ray Liotta and the very-in-demand Aussie, Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom, Trespass, Killer Elite, Cogan’s Trade)

Filming is in the early stages and no release dates have been set. We’ll certainly keep you updated on this one. It’s going on the list!

I had to include the pic of Gosling on Jimmy Fallon’s show promoting Crazy, Stupid Love. He brought his dog, George and that dog just cracks me the hell up. When asked what kind of dog, the mohawked George was, Gosling replied, “He’s some sort of…muppet.”

More The Dark Knight Rises Set Pics!

More The Dark Knight Rises Set Pics!

The images of the cast and crew filming The Dark Knight Rises are pouring out of Pennsylvania these days. If Christopher Nolan had really wanted to keep things under wraps, he’d have chosen to film in Sarajevo and not Pittsburgh.

It looks like Nolan’s employing half the city as extras. Nothing wrong with that. It’s so funny to see a guy in a cape with ‘bat ears’ standing amid a sea of casually dressed people. I also have to say that I love that they allowed a couple that had just been married in a nearby church to have their picture taken with the camouflaged Batmobile. That’ll be something to show the grandkids.

Besides Christian Bale’s Batman, we’ve seen a lot of Tom Hardy’s Bane and a peek at Marion Cotilliard’s Miranda Tate so far. Hopefully we’ll soon get glimpses of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s John Blake and Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle and/or Catwoman. The film also stars Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson,  Matthew Modine, Juno Temple and Brett Cullan. I’m sure there will be much more from Gotham City aka Pittsburgh before The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20, 2012.
