Action Packed Clip from Abduction with Taylor Lautner!

Action Packed Clip from Abduction with Taylor Lautner!

Here’s an exciting new fight clip from John Singleton’s Abduction starring Twi-hard heart-throb Taylor Lautner. I have to admit, I’m not really on board with this whole thing as I think it looks like a male version of Hanna. Sigourney Weaver seems to be playing the Cate Blanchett role, or is it Alfred Molina? However, having said that, I will say these fight scenes are good. The choreography is tight and realistic (except for the lack of obvious injuries to people crashing through solid objects). Lautner seems to be continuing the MMA trend in a few of the moves he’s putting on these bad guys. Director Singleton (Four Brothers, Shaft, Boyz n the Hood, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Rosewood) does know how to do action, I’ll give him that.

Abduction is a thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.

Here’s the official trailer:

and a featurette with Lautner talking about his stunt work:

Abduction, also starring Lily Collins (Soon to be seen as Snow White in Tarsem Singh’s untitled film), opens September 23 in the US & Canada and 28 September in the UK.

Angelina Jolie Admits To Vanity Fair: No Pregnancy, No Adoption, No Wedding

Angelina Jolie Admits To Vanity Fair: No Pregnancy, No Adoption, No Wedding

Angelina Jolie gets candid with Vanity Fair for their October issue and admits to them that there is no secret wedding to partner Brad Pitt, she’s not pregnant and has no plans for adoption. In addition to that she says of  ’In The Land of Blood and Honey’ a film that not only marks her directorial she also wrote:

“I’ve never felt more exposed. My whole career, I’ve hidden behind other people’s words,” Now it’s me talking. You feel ridiculous when you get something wrong.”

What prompted her to write the script:

“I had the flu,” Jolie says of how she came to write the script. “I had to be quarantined from the children for two days. I was in the attic of a house in France. I was isolated, pacing. I don’t watch TV and I wasn’t reading anything. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end. I didn’t know any other way.” She says she then let Brad take the script to read on a trip: “He called and said, ‘You know, honey, it’s not that bad.’”

Is there anything this woman can’t do? She fell into the directorial part by default:

It was something I didn’t trust out of my hands,” she explains. “So by default I ended up putting myself in as director.” Of her decision to use all unknown actors from the region, she says, “It couldn’t be anybody else. It’s their story. It was important that they were willing to do it. If none of them were willing, I wouldn’t have made it.”

You can catch more when Vanity Fair hits the New York and Los Angeles newsstands on September 1 and elsewhere (including the iPad) on September 6.

2011 Venice Film Festival Opens Wednesday!

2011 Venice Film Festival Opens Wednesday!

The world’s oldest film festival, the 68th annual Venice Film Festival opens Wednesday (in of all places, Venice, Italy) and runs through Sept. 10.

Darren Aronofsky heads the jury that will screen twenty-two films before determining the winner of the prestigious Golden Lion. The festival will premiere what are already some of the most talked about films of the year, from Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (Colin Firth, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy) to A Dangerous Method, starring Viggo Mortensen as Sigmund Freud, Michael Fassbender as Carl Jung, and Kiera Knightley as Sabine Spielrein, the patient Jung takes as a mistress. Fassbender will also have Steve McQueen’s Shame to showcase. (Remember, we were hoping for a hat-trick with Steven Soderbergh bringing Haywire? He opted to bring Contagion instead.)

The Ides of March, directed by and starring George Clooney as well as his hand-picked successor Ryan Gosling, will open the festival with a red carpet gala presentation. Expect pics of George and Baby Goose!

These are all films I’ve been talking up all summer and the festival is still all just a tease until the films mentioned above (in addition to Madonna’s first feature film, W. E.) come to these shores, but in the meantime, the Sundance Channel will be giving us, for the first time, coverage of the festival, beginning Sept. 3. We’ll miss part of it, but I’m sure there will be recaps and the coverage will feature interviews from the red carpet as well as longer specials. The glitz! The glamour! Perfect prep for TIFF!

Kendall Jenner’s Gorgeous Photo Shoot

Kendall Jenner's Gorgeous Photo Shoot

Kendall Jenner 15, is a natural beauty and just born to be a model with those long legs, isn’t she. She shared photos from her photo shoot with viewers on her and sister Kylie’s website and you have to admit the girl is a natural.

The photo shoot is for the Sherri Hill collection that Kendall is the face for. She was excited to model the prom dresses in a shoot that took 2 days to film.

Perhaps she looks a bit grown up in these photos, but I just can’t get over how natural a model she is!

What do you think of the pictures?

New Images for Shark Night 3D

New Images for Shark Night 3D

Since Jaws terrified movie-goers and beach-lovers way back in 1975, film makers have been trying to duplicate its success. Every few years a new shark movie crops up, more often than not each even cheesier than the last. Will Shark Night 3D be the exception? Who knows. (Although color me skeptical). Director David R. Ellis is an actor and stunt man, so hopefully he has an eye for action. His credits includeCellularSnakes on a PlaneFinal Destination 2The Final Destination and Asylum. Hmmm…

The official synopsis for Shark Night 3D: Arriving by boat at her family’s Louisiana lake island cabin, Sara ( Sara Paxton) and her friends quickly strip down to their swimsuits for a weekend of fun in the sun. But when star football player Malik ( Sinqua Walls) stumbles from the salt-water lake with his arm torn off, the party mood quickly evaporates. Assuming the injury was caused by a freak wake-boarding accident, the group realizes they have to get Malik to a hospital on the other side of the lake, and fast. But as they set out in a tiny speedboat, the college friends discover the lake has been stocked with hundreds of massive, flesh-eating sharks! As they face one grisly death after another, Sara and the others struggle desperately to fend off the sharks, get help and stay alive long enough to reach the safety of dry land.

Okay, so if one buys a ticket to something like this, they aren’t really expecting plausible plot. For that they can turn to Piranha 3D. I’m kidding! They’re expecting thrills, chills and scary, realistic sharks. Unfortunately I’m picturing something along the lines of Jaws 3D and this one won’t have Louis Gossett, Jr. bellowing “You talkin’ ’bout some damn shark’s mutha?” to ease the pain.

In addition to Paxton and Walls, Shark Night 3D stars Dustin Milligan, Alyssa Diaz, Chris Carmack, Joel David Moore, Ving Rhames (who actually appeared in Piranha 3DD), Donal Logue (??) and Katherine McPhee (yes, that Katherine McPhee). It opens in theaters in the US and Canada on September 2. The UK must sit and wait until 28 September.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills WILL Address Russell Armstrong Suicide

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills WILL Address Russell Armstrong Suicide

Back on August 16 we reported the shocking suicide of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills husband Russell Armstrong (husband of Taylor Armstrong). Russell was found hanging in his bedroom of the house he was staying at. He had allegedly been despondent over his financial issues, impending divorce with Taylor and an alleged tell-all book that he feared.

Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has already been filming and part of it was focusing on the marital issues between Russell and Taylor that they have decided not to air in light of his suicide.

There was also much speculation on whether the show would be airing anything about his death. Which, if you think about it would make zero sense if they just chose to ignore it. I can understand not airing the counseling segments or the issues between Russell and Taylor because it’s pointless now.

Well Bravo has chosen to air a special show that will feature all the Housewives with the exception of Taylor Armstrong that will discuss the shocking suicide. All of the other Housewives: Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Adrienne Maloof, Kim Richards and Kyle Richards filmed the show on Monday.

The new season is still scheduled to air on September 5th and it was to feature Taylor shopping for lingerie to spice up her marriage and was also to include her upset about marriage counseling with Russell. There is no word on whether that part will air or not.
