Tonight the MTV Video Music Awards will be taking place in Los Angeles but there is one person (and group) who will not be attending and that is Maroon 5′sAdam Levine.
Adam 32, isn’t too happy with MTV (could it be because he didn’t get nominated?) and took to Twitter to tell them what he thought of them:
MTV saw and responded:
Oh man burn. I’m pretty sure Adam doesn’t care given his Moves Like Jagger has sold 1,000,000 copies in the U.S.! I don’t know about you but that song never gets tired. LOVE IT!
Does Adam regret his outburst on Twitter? Not so much:
Not sure what is behind Adam’s outburst, whether it is because of not being nominated or what. Either way tonight the MTV Music Video Awards will take place at 9/8C. Will you be watching?
Apparently not willing to let Kate Winslet or Ryan Gosling steal his thunder, Brad Pitt has become this weeks third celebrity who is also a real life hero. Our favorite DILF (there it is again) rescued an actor from being trampled on the set of his new zombie flick World War Z.
In the middle of filming a chaotic crowd scene, approximately 700 extras were rushing down a street that was filled with cars, heavy artillery, military personnel and of course cameras and their crews. A woman stumbled and fell to the ground and Pitt picked her up. No words were exchanged because the cameras were still rolling, but he reportedly helped other people to safety as well. The woman came away with a badly scraped knee and several others were also injured on what is becoming an injury plagued set. 700 people barreling down a crowded street? What could possibly go wrong? That’s showbiz. Ah, the glamour.
Based on Max Brook’s best-selling novel, World War Z centers on a United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. World War Zopens in theaters in the US on December 21, 2012 .
Check out some pics of our hero on the GlasPhilly set (Glasgow, Scotland is subbing for Philadelphia, PA):
We have some exclusive photos for your this morning of Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling on the set of The Place Beyond The Pines that is filming in Schenectady, N.Y thanks to my friend @Steve_fromNY.
He was able to catch some of the on-set action which isn’t too far from his home. He could only get so close (he didn’t have his big lens with him hehe) and they are a bit blurry but Steve was probably very excited to be that close to Bradley Cooper (he is SO going to kill me for that).
It looks like Bradley Cooper is rocking a mullet and I’m surprised I even noticed what was above his neck given how beefed-up he is.
Reese Witherspoon is shown behind the scenes and in front of the camera during a photo shoot for the Lindex Autumn 2011 campaign in Stockholm, Sweden. She’s the new face for the California Denim Collection for Swedish brand and does them justice.
The new bride looks positively glowing and gorgeous. It’s rare to see Reese Witherspoon in jeans but I have to say I love the look on her. Is it me, or is there a slight resemblance to Carrie Underwood? She says of the collection:
I have always loved denim and knitted garments which can be mixed and matched. The collection fits my lifestyle because I think it’s sophisticated enough to go to a business meeting but also casual enough to be at home with your family.
What do you think of Reese fronting this campaign?
A couple of weeks ago we had your first look at maverick French filmmaker Luc Besson’s new film, The Lady. an epic love story about an extraordinary couple sacrificed their happiness for a higher cause. Set against the struggle for democracy in Burma, The Lady tells the story of the life of one of its leaders,Aung San Suu Kyi, played by Michelle Yeoh (Memoirs of a Geisha, Tomorrow Never Dies, Crouching Tiger,Hidden Dragon) and the academic and writer Michael Aris, her British husband, played by David Thewlis (Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter series, he also has War Horse and Anonymous due out this year). Despite distance, long separations, and a dangerously hostile regime, their love endures until the very end. A story of devotion and human understanding amid a background of political turmoil which continues today. The Lady is also the story of the peaceful quest of the woman who is at the core of Burma’s democracy movement.
TIFF gives us this bit of background: In 1988, Aung San Suu Kyi returned to her native Burma from Oxford, where she had lived for many years. Her visit was prompted by news of her mother’s deteriorating health, but the country was in an uproar. Burma’s military leader, General Ne Win, stepped down, and protestors quickly filled the streets of Naypyidaw to demand democratic reform. Those protestors were beaten and their message suppressed. The charismatic and politically engaged Suu Kyi, whose father was a martyr for Burmese independence, found herself called upon to lead Burma out from under the shadow of military dictatorship as the General Secretary of the newly formed National League for Democracy. In 1990, a general election was held and the NLD won, but Suu Kyi was held under house arrest by the military junta. She remained a prisoner in her own home for most of the next fifteen years.
These beautiful new posters are by Shepard Fairey who designed the Obama “Progress” poster. We also have the first teaser trailer and a lovely new image of Michelle Yeoh:
The Lady will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival where hopefully a distributor will pick it up. The only release date currently announced is Germany in March 2012.This feels like the kind of film that’s too important to miss.
Perhaps that’s a bit presumptuous on my part? Kittens, I don’t even want to consider number 1 as the two that come to mind I love with every cell of my loins.
The male for number 2 deserves jail time if these allegations prove correct. Number 3 is wrong on many levels.
Thanks Gawker.
1. ”Today we’re talking about a comedian on an East Coast cable show. He makes a lot of good money and a lot of good jokes but what he hasn’t been making lately, is a lot of good decisions. Apparently he recently trashed the set of his show after going on a three-day drug binge. The network is now considering getting rid of him. ” [BuzzFoto]
2. ”Kind of obscure, but shocking. Really shocking. I actually thought about making this not a blind item, but then decided the woman is entitled to her privacy. The story should come out in the next few days and there will be enough detail for everyone to know I was first, but I just can’t be the first to give the woman’s name. Anyway, this D lister who has been in one documentary in which he starred and has had several appearances on television as his character is getting divorced. So, where is the shock? Well, the shock is that his soon to be ex says that he raped her and also fears for her life and the life of their cat when he is around.” [CDaN]
3. ”Which celeb break-up seems to have been more to do with failed IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) than the the wife’s supposed affair? The man had his heart set on a son and heir. Since the wife was quite relieved it didn’t work, a break-up was probably the best thing all round.” [Blind Gossip]
