Love Film has a world exclusive first trailer for the lushly romantic The Deep Blue Sea, starring Rachel Weisz and Tom Hiddleston. Directed by Terence Davies from Terence Rattigan's play, The Deep Blue Sea is the story of Hester Collyer, the suicidal wife of a (much older) British High Court Judge who is caught in a self-destructive love affair with a Royal Air Force pilot. Weisz and Hiddleston play the lovers and Simon Russell Beale plays the judge. 

The Deep Blue Sea premiered at TIFF last week with Weisz, Hiddleston and Davies in attendance. it was not only well received, but it achieved the hoped for result in that it was picked up by Music Box Films for US release sometime in 2012. It will be the closing film of the BFI London Film Festival and then open in the UK on 11 November.

Arc Entertainment by way of Fandango has released these very cool new pics from Bunraku. This film is really getting a big push now that it's finally wending it's way to theaters!There's even a huge poster in my local cinema! Guy Moshe's hyper-stylized samurai western/neo noir mashup is set during a time in the near future following a global war where guns have been outlawed and people fight using knives and fists and is the story of a young man who has spent his life searching for revenge only to find himself up against a bigger challenge than he originally bargained for. It stars Josh Hartnett as a drifter and Japanese pop-star Gackt as a samurai, who are out to kill Nicola (Ron Perlman), a crime lord who happens to be the most powerful man east of the Atlantic. 

The Drifter (Hartnett) walks into The Bartender's (played by Woody Harrelson) 'Horseless Horseman Saloon' one night and demands two things – a shot of whiskey and to kill Nicola. He's joined by Gackt's Yoshi, a samurai seeking to avenge his father by recovering a talisman that Nicola stole from his clan. Guided by the bartender's wisdom, the two set out to bring down the villain and his henchmen. Nicola's lover, Alexandra, is played by Demi Moore and as Perlman's right hand man, Kevin McKidd. 

Bunraku opens in theaters in the US on September 30 and on dvd in the UK on 10 October.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor left us on March 23, 2011 (which is still hard to believe) and not only are her jewels being auctioned off, but her designer clothes will be as well. Oh to have a piece of either auction would be a dream come true!

There will be 400 designer pieces that go to auction for 4 days in December (December 13 – 16 inclusive) according to New York's Christie's. Among the pieces are haute couture by Chanel, Yves St. Laurent and Dior:

"One of the many great treasures within Elizabeth Taylor's vast collection is her extraordinarily well-preserved wardrobe," said Marc Porter, chairman and president of Christie's Americas.

"The stunning outfits she wore to galas, award ceremonies, AIDS benefits and even her own weddings to Richard Burton are all here, lovingly maintained along with the handbags, shoes, hats and other accessories that completed her superstar looks," he added in a statement.

Her jewels and clothing are on tour right now and will be up until the auction. So far, over 6,000 people viewed the collection in Moscow alone. Other stops include Los Angeles, London, Dubai, Geneva, Paris, Hong Kong. The final stop in New York will see a museum-type exhibition that will fill all of Christie's auction house before the 4 day auction.

So says magazine publications Ok! Magazine and US Weekly! I find it kind of difficult to believe that Brad Pitt is jealous that Jennifer Aniston has finally found happiness (with Justin Theroux) but according to a source to Ok! Magazine, Brad isn't just jealous he has a little vicious streak in him:

“Brad’s got a real competitive, vicious streak, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s jealous,” a Jen pal tells OK!. “Justin is everything Brad couldn’t be. He adores Jen; Jen is deeply in love with Justin. And she’d fallen in and out of love with Brad during their marriage.

“Truth be told, they were both bored. Jen saw Brad as a dull stoner. But Justin is a poet and an author and well-educated and amazing.”

Both publications are saying his remarks made in Parade magazine in which he basically said marriage to Jennifer Aniston was boring, and then later retracted that saying it was taken out of context (yeah, right), were a result of his competitive nature and that it is killing him seeing his ex-wife (whom he left to be with current love Angelina Jolie) so happy and talking marriage and babies.

A source to Us Magazine is saying that Jen's 'team' went ballistic and got Brad's 'team' involved:

"no one believes his words were taken out of context — he said what he said. I do hear that he's remorseful."

And although Pitt is clearly blissed out with Jolie, 36, and their six kids, "We think he's jealous she's in love," the source says.

I call B.S. on this with a capital B. While perhaps some people are the type that want what they don't have when it comes to relationships and now that she's truly moved on it's making him second-guess himself, I can not believe he is jealous of her happiness. Unless of course he's coming to the realization that he's so screwed and stuck with Angelina Jolie and this is but a bitter reminder.

However sometimes where there is smoke there is fire and this could be a case of that.

As we told you on September 4, Eddie Murphy is going to be hosting the 2012 Oscar Awards. Leave it to Steve Martin to pen an open letter to him giving him advice. As you know Steve Martin has done it before and actually showed interest in hosting the 2012 Oscars. Clearly it didn't work out in his favor.

Continuing in his tireless efforts to promote his upcoming film, Marc Forster's Machine Gun Preacher (which opens Friday in NY & LA then Sep 30 in more cities), Gerard Butler brought the heat to "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" last night. Looking all kinds of sexy in that tone-on-tone pinstriped grey suit, white-shirt-of-death with buttons that just yearned to pop open and release the manly chest within, and that hair…oh my giggity that glorious mass of hair…*fans self* okay I'm better now. But come on…that hair looked amaze-balls. (Back away with the sheep shears! You know who you are!)

In any case, it was obvious that I wasn't the only one affected by G's presence (and I was only watching the pixelated version on my tv). Comedienne Whitney Cummings came out and promptly plunked herself on his lap and then pronounced that he'd gotten her pregnant. The two proceeded to flirt and laugh their way through her segment. Poor old Jay could only sit back and let it happen, utterly superfluous. BEST. LENO. EVER!
