So 'The Stath' and 'Jenny-from-the-Block' were spotted this week sitting in a car and filming Parker down in Palm Beach, Florida. That's it. That's all there is. Except for one thing…IT'S THE STATH! Yes, Jason Statham and his stubble can reduce the best of us to quivering masses of not-quite-set jello.  How freakin' cute is that cowboy hat?

Okay, fan-girly moment over, Parker is director Taylor Hackford's new thriller that has been filming for the past few months in Louisianna. The production has obviously moved to Florida. Based on a novel by Donald Westlake (whose other books have been turned into films like Payback and The Hot Rock, among others. He also wrote the screenplay for The Grifters)  Parker revolves around a thief who, though at times is forced to be a killer, still lives by a code of honor that includes never stealing the money of people who need it. His word is his bond, and if he is crossed he will strike back relentlessly. When Parker (Statham) turns down a job offer to pull off a jewel heist, he narrowly escapes with his life. He then teams up with a female real estate agent (Lopez) who is familiar with the local town and has nothing to lose to find the target of the heist so they can steal the loot for themselves.

Parker costars Nick Nolte, Clifton Collins, Jr., Wendell Pierce, Patti Lupone and Michael Chiklis and will open in the US on October 12, 2012. Thanks to comingsoon.net for the onset pics. Do you want to know who was eliminated from the first episode of Season 13 of Dancing With The Stars? First off after yesterday's premiere I would have sworn that Elisabetta Canalis would be voted off or at the very least in the bottom results (in jeopardy) in the first round that was announced.

The first round  revealed that celebrities Ricki Lake and Elisabetta Canalis were the first two to be safe. I can't tell you how so very happy that Ricki Lake is safe. And while her dancing wasn't strong, I'm surprised Elisabetta's fanbase is. That isn't being catty, but given she's from Italy and very new to the U.S. it's surprising.

The first celebrity revealed to be in the bottom and in jeopardy was Robert Kardashian much to the chagrin of the Kardashian Klan who frightened Tom Bergeron with their anger.

The incredibly talented Harry Connick Jr. performed in addition to LMFAO (who did so later on).

The next announced safe couple were Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) was announced as being in the bottom results and he didn't look too happy and based on the package they aired prior to the announcement he wasn't happy with the score of 4 and seemed to think it was too harsh.

Next  Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas were announced as safe.

The highlight of the evening was when LMFAO performed Sex and I Know It and Carrie Ann Inaba got up on the judges table and started dancing only to be joined by Bruno who started disrobing. I'm sure Len loved that view. 

Next three couples up: Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani, J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff and Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer. Going into this elimination round Chynna and Tony had 22 tied with J.R. and Karina. Chaz and Lacey may have only received 17 but he was the fan favorite besides J.R. Martinez. From this round all three couples were safe and they all shared one big group hug that was so genuine and sincere.

The final 3 celebrities up: Nancy Grace, David Arquette and Carson Kressley. From these three it was announced that David and Kim were safe as was Carson Kressley and Anna. 

That leaves Robert Kardashian,  Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) and Nancy Grace as the three celebrities in jeopardy. And the first celebrity eliminated from Season 13 of Dancing With The Stars is Metta World Peace.

And boy are these cool! Seventeen new images from Steven Spielberg's motion capture big-screen version of the classic comic book, The Adventures of Tintin have hit the web and boy are these cool! We've already seen a few stills of Tintin, Inspector Thomson and Inspector Thompson, Captain Haddock and even Snowy, but in these we get to see them in a little bit more action. In fact, I was thinking I could put all these great images together and make a flip-book and probably get a pretty good idea of the movie.   I think I've mentioned that I'm not sold on 3D. The animation in this is so vividly drawn that I think 3D would just be overkill. Snowy is rendered as lifelike as any dog I've seen and that's just a still. We'll see.

The Adventures of Tintin features an all-star cast whose motion has been captured and voices recorded, including Jamie Bell as Tintin, Andy Serkis as Capt. Haddock, Daniel Craig as Red Rackham and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as Insps. Thompson and Thomson respectively. (Personally, I'd buy a ticket for those two alone.) The Adventures of Tintin comes to theaters 26 October in the UK so expect more good stuff to be released between now and then. It doesn't hit theaters in the US and Canada until December 23.

Albert Nobbs is another movie coming out of TIFF with fresh buzz. I'd heard of this little oddity about a woman living as a man in late 19th century Ireland and I'd also heard whisperings that another Oscar nomination might be in the cards for Glenn Close who plays the title role.  Close originally starred as Nobbs in the 1982 Off-Broadway play "The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs" and won an Obie for it. So I'd heard of it, but didn't really pay much attention. Besides, let's face it, any time a movie comes out with Ms. Close, there is talk of an Oscar. She occupies the same rarified space as Meryl Streep. The clips however, do pique my interest.

The official synopis: Award winning actress Glenn Close plays a woman caught in an unusual love triangle. Passing as a man in order to work and survive in 19th century Ireland, some thirty years after donning men’s clothing, she finds herself lost in a prison of her own making. Mia Wasikowska (Helen), Aaron Johnson (Joe) and Brendan Gleeson (Dr. Holloran) also join a prestigious, international cast that includes Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Janet McTeer, Brenda Fricker and Pauline Collins. Rodrigo Garcia directs from a script that Glenn Close, along with Man Booker prize-winning novelist John Banville and Gabriella Prekop, adapted from a short story by Irish author George Moore."

Take a look at the first clip. While I still see Glenn Close, the actress, I am a huge fan of Brendan Gleeson. They seem to have real chemistry and I can only imagine that this might be worth it for their scenes alone. 

The second clip features Mia Wasikowska in a role that originally belonged to Amanda Seyfried, who had to drop out due to scheduling. 

Albert Nobbs played Telluride and TIFF, will play the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain next week and the Mill Valley Film Festival near Sausalito in October. Roadside Attractions has picked it up for distribution, but no release dates are known.

If you've been missing your fix of Kiefer Sutherland playing Jack Bauer (and who hasn't assuming you have a pulse) you can watch (and listen) on the Sunday night premiere of The Simpsons where Kiefer Sutherland brings back the character Wayne who although does security at the power plant, is actually CIA agent who has horrific flashbacks to all that he has endured. Okay it's not exactly Jack Bauer but close enough people!

On the Season 23 premiere of The Simpsons the guys at the bar are being held up at gun point by some dude when 'Wayne' (Kiefer) comes in and saves the day with his Jack Bauer type of ass-kickery (I'm pretty sure that's not a word but it really should be if it's not).
