Jason Momoa Heats Up the HBO Post-Emmy Bash! PHOTOS

Jason Momoa Heats Up the HBO Post-Emmy Bash! PHOTOS

Looking tanned and rested after his recent surfing sojourn, one of our favorite Hawaiian, Jason Momoa put some clothes on and attended the Official HBO Emmy After-party last night. I for one had missed him! I must say, there's something about a crisp white shirt against all of that glorious caramel-colored skin…excuse me for a moment….okay I'm back. He does clean up well (although in general he just doesn't give a sh*t, which is somehow endearing.) Of course he brought along his wife and baby mama, Lisa Bonet, (I'd hate her if his obvious commitment and affection weren't so damn sexy) who looked pretty good too.

I was watching the Emmys last night and I think it was the opening sequence, they had someone ELSE playing Khal Drogo in full makeup. I was appalled. I'm glad Jason showed up to support the show. Also pictured with the Momoas is "Game of Thrones" Exec. Producer Caroline Strauss and actor Steve Howey (who is married to Sarah Shahi of "Fairly Legal" who is in Bullet to the Head with Jason due out next April.)  Enjoy the pics!

2011 Primetime Emmy Awards Fashion: The Hits and Misses

2011 Primetime Emmy Awards Fashion: The Hits and Misses

The 2011 Emmy Awards may be over and done with for another year, however, there were far more winners than not-so-winners gracing the red carpet that left heads turning.   (Now that's what I call red carpet fashion!)   Be it sleek and silver or bright and bold, Hollywood's leading ladies gave new meaning to, "this is how it's done" as they gathered at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last night to celebrate the finest in television.

Known for her role as the saucy wife on Modern Family, Sofia Vergara will probably now be more famous for leaving her co-presenter Rob Lowe speechless in this heading turning (or should I say neck whip-lashing), radiant coral Vera Wang gown and emerald earrings.

No Hollywood awards show is complete without the drama of crimson as Glee's Lea Michele, 25  and Vampire Diaries'  leading lady Nina Dobrev, 22 prove that you can still be a sizzling red hot standout on the red carpet.  If covered shoulders are making a comeback, then Lea Michele begs us for wanting more in this radiant gorgeous Marchesa gown capped with rosette shoulders with Roger Vivier pumps.   I'm having a proud-to-be-Canadian moment as our very own Nina Dobrev saunters down the red carpet in a stunning strapless gown by Donna Karan Resort 2012, complete with Brian Atwood shoes, Neil Lane jewels and Judith Leiber clutch.  (Now that's what I call retail therapy.)  Don't you think she's come a long way from her Degrassi High days?

One of last night`s hits was the arrival of Kelly Osbourne, 26, in this deep burgundy  J Mendel gown.   My sources tell me that she was an early arrival and, quite frankly, who can blame her when you look this good!  The burgundy colour is absolutely stunning against her pale skin and blonde hair.  The dress was a perfect choice for her.   (And who said being fashionably late is cool?)   When you look this great, the rest can wait!

And if bright and bold aren't in your fashion repertoire, Mad Men's lead actress, Elisabeth Moss, shows she is no drama queen as she strikes a pose in a stunning Marchesa blush gown featuring delicate, subtle and sheer embroidered sleeves.   Mad Men`s best supporting actress nominee, Christina Hendricks, didn`t disappoint as she proves that you can be fair and still look great in this body hugging champagne colour, embroidered Johanna Johnson frock accessorized with Judith Leiber clutch, Christian Louboutin shoes and Palladium jewels.  And rounding out our more subtle choices is Dexter star Julia Stiles who looks stunning in pale lavender Georges Hobeika Couture with Kotur clutch and Rahaminov Diamond for Forevermark gems.

No red carpet staple has withstood the test of time like the long, sleek black dress has.  Emily Blunt is elegant in a v-neck, tulle-embellished Elie Saab gown with Brian Atwood shoesGlee bad-girl Naya Riviera is anything but bad as she shows off her sophisticated side in this elegant black gown with smoky eyes, nude lipstick and chic bouffant up 'do.  And Evan Rachel Wood stands her own in a beaded Elie Saab gown with flowing train with a low cut back accessorised with Fred Leighton jewellery, Judith Leiber clutch, and Salvatore Ferragamo pumps.

There were just a couple of disappointments last night.  Julianne Hough, sorry, girl.  This just wasn't your night, and if I may borrow the words of Canadian fashion icon, Jeanne Becker, that was "one bad home‑ec project".  As for Minka Kelly, you are one of the hottest women in Hollywood!!   Sorry, that dress was just too mother of the bride.  (Time to fire that stylist.)

And last, but certainly not least.  One more honourable mention goes to Rob Lowe. Nice … very nice.

My top-pick of the night:   Nina Dobrev.

2011 Primetime Emmy Awards HBO After Party PHOTOS

2011 Primetime Emmy Awards HBO After Party PHOTOS

Last night's 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles kicked off the new season of television shows and after the award show were the after parties. Last night HBO held theirs at The Plaza at the Pacific Design Center where we saw a lot of stars we may have missed on the red carpet or in the audience.

The vampires, shifters and werewolves from True Blood attended HBO's party looking as mouth-watering as always. The group from the now ended Entourage were in attendance. Hard to believe that show is gone but it did end in such a way that it can always have an after life.

And if you come back in a short while we are going to have a very special mansicle who was at the party but deserves his own post!

Enjoy the pics!

Charlie Sheen’s Humble Moment at 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards

Charlie Sheen's Humble Moment at 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards

As we reported Charlie Sheen was a presenter last night at the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards and he was gracious, humble and to me, seemed kind of moved to the point where he looked to be fighting back tears as he gave a shout out to his castmates of his former show Two and A Half Men.

He presented the Best Actor in a Comedy Series, as he pointed out his old category:

'From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best, for this upcoming season'

He shared a picture of him and Ashton Kutcher backstage where he tweeted:

Kate Winslet Wins an Emmy for Mildred Pierce! PHOTOS

Kate Winslet Wins an Emmy for Mildred Pierce! PHOTOS

My girl Kate Winslet, one of my all-time favorite actresses, looked absolutely gorgeous in red Elie Saab last night at the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards held at LA's Nokia Theater. No word on whether or not Louis (Dowler) was with her or not, but in addition to looking good (which is almost everything) she also took home, as expected, the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Mini-Series or Movie for the title role in HBO's "Mildred Pierce". Woot!

"Mildred Pierce" is adapted from the novel of the same name by James M. Cain which was previously filmed starring Joan Crawford. This version, directed by Todd Haynes (Far From HeavenVelvet Goldmine, Safe) is much closer to the book in which divorced single mother Mildred Pierce (Winslet) decides to open a restaurant business, which tears at the already-strained relationship with her ambitious elder daughter, Veda (Wood). Haynes was also nominated for Best Directing of a Movie or Mini-Series, but lost to Brian Percival of "Downton Abbey". Evan Rachel Wood (as well as Mare Winningham and Melissa Leo) lost to Dame Maggie Smith, also of "Downton Abbey". Guy Pearce did win for Best Supporting Actor in a Mini-Series or Movie for his role as Monty Beragon, in a very tough field. If you haven't seen this show, I recommend it when the mini-series comes to DVD later this year.

Winslet, who has famously been naked in a great many of her films has said recently that although it happens quite frequently, she actually hates doing nude scenes. "If you complain about it or procrastinate it's not going to go away. It's a profoundly bizarre thing to do." All things considered, she's right. If you want to learn more, pick up this months' V Magazine, the one in which Kate channels Liz Taylor.  Enjoy the pics!

2011 Emmy Awards Winners List and PHOTOS

2011 Emmy Awards Winners List and PHOTOS

Last night the 2011 63rd Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and it could have been called the Modern Family Awards and that would have been quite appropriate.

Modern Family swept the awards winning in 5 categories: Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy honors for Julie Bowen and her onscreen husband Ty Burrell as well as Best Direction and Best Writing of a Comedy and Outstanding Comedy.  Steven Levitan's wife kind of stole his thunder when the panned to her and she rolled her eyes at what he was saying. Such a funny moment.

It was SO nice to see Friday Night Lights win for Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series. That is one show that should have NEVER been canceled. It was a show of great quality.

The BEST Emmy moment was when the nominations for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series were being read, beginning with Amy Poehler's name and she got up on stage to wait as though she were in a pageant. It was hysterical and then to have all the other nominees follow suite was incredible. And to get a standing ovation for that was so excellent. All the nominees were deserving and to see that camaraderie was incredible. They were all genuinely happy for Melissa McCarthy's win! If you didn't see it, check it out below as well as the winners' list.
