Tomas Alfredson's Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy had its UK premiere in London on September 13, ahead of its UK opening this past Friday. The gang of spies, I must say was looking very dapper indeed. Mrs. Colin Firth (Livia Giuggioli) wore the same polka-dotted Stella McCartney that Kate Winslet strolled the red carpet ahead of the New York premiere of "Mildred Pierce" last March. (Not good to show up Kate, Livia. But you're married to Colin Firth, so you win. Kris Jenner tried to wear it a couple of weeks ago. Epic Fail.) By the way, Gary Oldman's fourth wife, Andrea Edenborough is gorgeous (She's even got a gorgeous name). Uma's probably spitting pickles.

One of our boyfriends, Tom Hardy, did the black on black thing again. Has there ever been a better mixture of ponce and thug. Ever? The answer is no, there hasn't. I hope the blonde in Benedict Cumberbatch's hair is for a role and that it's gone when they start shooting the next series of "Sherlock". Colin Firth could just mail in a picture of himself to these things. I mean that as a compliment. There's no need to take new pictures of him in a suit because he looks the same every damn time. Utterly, utterly perfect. Other men must hate him. He even brought his parents and let them stay for the after-party! Noomi Rapace looked beautiful. (It's still such a shock to see her without the hair and the piercings from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Can't wait to see her in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows). 

My only complaint: NO MARK STRONG! What's up with that? It was in London fer cryin' out loud! No Ciaran Hinds either. Okay, that's two complaints. Oh well, enjoy the pics. We don't get the actual movie until December 9 when Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy opens in North America.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was victorious last night in his boxing bout with Victor Ortiz but when he was pushed to defend his fighting tactics by 80 year old sportscaster Larry Merchant he got pretty bent out of shape getting up in the face of the 80 year old and saying:

"You never give me a fair shake. HBO need to fire you. You don't know s**t about boxing. You ain't s**t! You're not s**t!"

Not only was Larry Merchant not fazed by it, he was smiling and said to Floyd:

"I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your a**."

Haha! Go gramps. I mean what's Floyd going to do, beat the crap out of an 80 year old in front of everyone with cameras rolling? I don't know enough about boxing to know if how he fought was fair or not, but clearly Larry kept at him to respond to his questions but Floyd didn't like that too much.

Here's a lovely first trailer for David MacKenzie's Perfect Sense, a love story set at the beginning of a world wide epidemic. (My first thought was "Love in the Time of Cholera", but that title was taken and the disease is not cholera.) I don't know if the whole film will be like this, but the trailer was indeed lovely. McGregor (who starred in the director's Young Adam back in 2003) plays Michael, a chef and Green, who plays Susan, a scientist, seem to have genuine chemistry and it does seem that the love story is the focal point and the madness and chaos of the pandemic will take place around them. After all, in any time of crisis, people do live, laugh, love, just bloody get on with it. As is said in the voice-over "Life goes on." Perfect Sense seems to aspire to do what Contagion could not and that's make the outbreak of a deadly disease personal and emotional.

Perfect Sense costars Ewan Bremner (who appeared with McGregor in Trainspotting), Stephen Dillane, Connie Nielsen and Alistair Mackenzie. It played Sundance in January, Seattle Film Festival in May and the Edinburgh Festival in June as well as myriad other festivals. It plays Woodstock Film Festival next week and will open in the UK 7 October. No general release date for the US is known.

Woo hoo! It's Spy-palooza! I told you this stuff was going to be coming at us fast and furious! (I am by no means complaining!) Here's yet another new poster for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, this one a North American version of the other "code" posters. The clue that it's for us is the word "winter" in red down near the lower right quarter, a reference to the December release date.  The new trailer is also for us. What's the difference? In Simon McBurney's voice-over at the beginning, they've changed "Circus" to the more Yank friendly and self-explanatory "British Intelligence". Color me insulted. If I'm interested enough to want to see this movie, you'd think I'd be intelligent enough to infer the meaning of "Circus" even if it were not spelled out for me. I won't complain too much because it does give us a little more footage than we'd previously seen.

Los Angeles Laker and Dancing With The Stars celebrity contestant Ron Artest has had his name changed legally approved so now we can call him Metta World Peace. Is Metta the first name with World being middle and Peace being last or is Metta World Peace the entire first name?  Either way  this name change was officially approved Friday so that leaves the executives at Dancing With The Stars scrambling to change everything related to him. Or not, we shall see, won't we?

Either way congrats to him because it was important to him and who are we to judge right? But more importantly we have shirtless pictures of him from the other day as he was seen outside of the rehearsal studios for Dancing With The Stars. I think I just got a little excited about Season 13 of Dancing With The Stars! Holla bitches! I would call him whatever the hell he wanted if he continued to prance around shirtless like this.

He recently talked with ESPN's Andy Kamenetzky about Dancing With The Stars and basketball and how he is putting Lamar Odom (Khloe Kardashian's husband) in a tough spot because he and Lamar are childhood friends and Robert Kardashian, who is also on this season of Dancing With The Stars is Lamar's brother-in-law, so who is he to choose:

I mean, he has to root for me. He has no choice. We're both gonna put him in a tough position. If he roots for Rob [Kardashian], I'm not talking to him. If he roots for me, Rob's not talking to him. So LO's in a tough spot.

Charlie Sheen is getting his groove back what with his Comedy Central Roast airing tomorrow night  in the the same time slot that Two and A Half Men airs their new season with Ashton Kutcher) and the expectation is that he will be at tonight's Emmy Awards presenting an award according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In recent interviews Charlie Sheen has shown a much softer and humbler side with the madness a thing of the past. Even he admits that he would have fired his own ass given the behavior. Last week a very healthy looking Charlie Sheen appeared on Jay Leno and Jay asked him what the catalyst was for his changing to which Charlie admitted he realized he was 'LOSING'. It was funny. He was very humble on Jay Leno, it's actually quite impressive that he is seeing things clearly and objectively admitting his remorse and behavior:

"I own my part of it. I just want to make everything right … I should have been a little more responsible for the condition I was showing up in."

You have to respect a person that can sit back and own up to their behavior. And he's shown nothing but grace toward Ashton Kutcher telling Jay that there is no advice he could give someone so accomplished.
