Toronto is buzzing with celebrities for the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the most important ones (in my horny estimation) are Kiefer Sutherland and Gerard Butler. Of course people are going crazy because Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are also here (although they do nothing for my loins).

Brad and Angelina were here for Brad’s film Moneyball, a film about baseball and it’s getting a lot of positive buzz at TIFF.

Gerard Butler is doing double duty at TIFF this year premiering two films: Machine Gun Preacher and Corolianus. The pictures of him exiting his limo are hysterical. I would love to see what’s on the other side of the camera greeting him.

Kiefer Sutherland is here for his movie Melancholia but I’m personally hoping to get a whiff of him as I hear from several very reliable sources that he smells mighty fine.

Blonde beauty Kate Bosworth takes top Fashionista honours as she arrives at the 37th Deauville Film Festival  this week for the Another Happy Day screening in Deauville, France in this little white Chanel shift dress (trying saying that five times) with pearl beading, paired with silver Christian Louboutin shoes.

I can’t decide what I like more – the front or the back of the dress!   There’s nothing quite like a simple white dress beaded in pearls especially on someone as lovely as Kate.  All I can say is très chic!

Wow Elisabetta Canalis is pulling out all the stops to get George Clooney’s attention isn’t she? The latest (aside from joining Dancing With The Stars) is to pose nude for PETA. While I don’t want to dismiss someone for doing something for a good cause, especially when it involves animals because you know how I love them with all my heart, I’m just thinking what’s next, a rap album, a reality show?

The last couple of girlfriends George Clooney has had (if my memory serves me correctly) embark on a career of sorts in showbiz once their relationship hits the skids.  I wonder if they had visions of a life in showbiz before being boned by George Clooney or if they saw stars in his incredible lifestyle. It would take decades for them to even come close to his success in showbiz.

Okay back to the most important thing here: the animals. Elisabetta recorded a video on PETA’s website that I won’t post because it shows how the animals are tortured for their fur. It’s heart-breaking. She goes on to say about fur:

“Don’t buy fur,” Canalis urges. “Even a little trim—your gloves or your bag or your jackets …. You must remember that animals don’t have a voice. You must be their voice. Never be afraid to speak up.”

Either way, thanks Elisabetta Canalis for still trying to get George Clooney`s attention any way you can  loving animals enough to pose nude for PETA.

One for the Money, starring Katherine Heigl doesn’t hit theaters until January but here’s a first look at the poster. Heigl plays Stephanie Plum from the wildly popular series of novels by Janet Evanovich. Fans of the books have been making their own trailers, including their casting choices and posting them to Youtube almost since this book, the first of the series, was published.

Here’s the official synopsis: Stephanie Plum’s got plenty of attitude, even if she’s been out of work for the last six months and just lost her car to a debt collector. Desperate for some fast cash, Stephanie turns to her last resort: convincing her sleazy cousin to give her a job at his bail bonding company … as a recovery agent. True, she doesn’t even own a pair of handcuffs and her weapon of choice is pepper spray, but that doesn’t stop Stephanie from taking on Vinny’s biggest bail-jumper: former vice cop and murder suspect Joe Morelli – yup, the same sexy, irresistible Joe Morelli who seduced and dumped her back in high school.

Why am I getting a The Bounty Hunter vibe from this?  I’m not a Heigl hater. I don’t want her torn apart by a pack of wild Stephanie Plum fans.

Directed by Julie Anne Robinson (The Last Song) and cowritten by Kirsten Smith (The Ugly Truth) One For the Money also stars Jason O’Mara, Daniel Sunjata, John Leguizamo, Sherri Shepherd and Debbie Reynolds.

Around the globe Nothing But The Beat debuted top 5 in twelve countries, including a #1 bow in France, Austria, Belgium and Mexico while landing at #2 in England, Germany, Italy and Spain. Here’s a peek behind-the-curtain at Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. It’s all about Gary Oldman’s George Smiley, who is described as the “Anti-Bond” among the spy oeuvre. We hear from Colin Firth, Toby Jones and Benedict Cumberbatch as well as director Alfredson and the author of the book upon which the film is based, John Le Carre. (The other exciting bit is that interspersed with the conversation are glimpses of the film we haven’t seen before, including new views of some of the other characters.)

This is a very quiet, almost claustrophobic spy tale. It’s based in humanity, not technical wizardry. As Oldman himself says, “There are no gadgets, no gizmos, no Astin Martins.” But I love what John Hurt has to say, “He’s seriously intelligent…wise…and cool.”

I could not possibly want to see this movie any more than I already do. And I just know they’re going to keep teasing me for the next three months until Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is released here in North America. Bastards.

By the way, considering the spies in the film have to make do with 1970′s era technology, there is a very cool website utilizing the best of 2011. Go to tinker-tailor-soldier-spy.com and type in the film’s UK release date 160911 as your password. It will look like you’re travelling up and down an elevator in The Circus (or MI6 headquarters). Go to the “Top Level” and there’s a new clip we haven’t seen called “Belinda”, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Firth.
