Mark Ronson Remembers Amy Winehouse at His Wedding

Mark Ronson Remembers Amy Winehouse at His Wedding

Mark Ronson 35, married French model Josephine De La Baume 26, in the South of France on the weekend and both he and his wife remembered and paid tribute to Mark’s good friend Amy Winehouse (he also happened to produce her Back To Black album) according to a source:

“Amy was a great friend of both Mark and Josephine and they would have been thrilled to have her with them at their big day, but sadly it wasn’t to be”

“Amy would definitely have sung one of her hits at the wedding if she were still alive, as she meant to much to both of them. Her death devastated the pair of them.”

Mark and Josephine were engaged in February but have been together since 2009. Their wedding was a two-day affair in Aix de Provence, France with the bride wearing a custom-designed Zac Posen.

Amy Winehouse died at the age of 27 at her home on July 23, 2011.

First Clip and Pics from The Deep Blue Sea!

First Clip and Pics from The Deep Blue Sea!

Oh I have been waiting for this! Finally a clip from Terence Davies film version of Terrence Rattigan’s play, The Deep Blue Sea, starring Rachel Weisz and Tom Hiddleston.

I’m on record as being a big fan of Mrs. Craig and this movie, her fifth to be unveiled in some way, shape or form within a two month period, a period piece set in London during WWII, looks smart and lush and utterly romantic.  Weisz plays a suicidal woman named Hester Collyer, the wife of a High Court judge, who begins having an affair with a Royal Air Force pilot (Hiddleston).

The clip doesn’t tell us a lot about the plot, but it’s beautifully lit, the music, Jo Stafford’s versuion of “You Belong to Me”, is wonderful and it is terribly romantic. The music cuts off rather suddenly at the end, so there is probably more to this scene, but it’s something and I’ll take it,  for now. The Deep Blue Sea is playing at the Toronto International Film Festival later this month, and the San Sebastian Film Festival then will close the BFI London Film Festival in October, but doesn’t yet have a US distributor or a release date. I’m thinking that will change during the festival markets.

Christy Turlington Is The Face Of Louis Vuitton Jewelry

Christy Turlington Is The Face Of Louis Vuitton Jewelry

Supermodel, mom, wife and entrepreneur Christy Turlington 42, is the new face of the Louis Vuitton Jewelry collection. Her gorgeous puss can be seen in their Fall and Winter 2011 Campaign and is her third Louis Vuitton campaign.

I looked around to try to find the pricing on the Necklaces, especially the one above and I did find one similar, but smaller and less intricate and it was going for $117,000 in their fine jewelry collection! I can only imagine how much the necklace she is wearing in the main picture is.

Either way, she’s the perfect face for this fine collection and if Louis Vuitton wants to send me ANYTHING I will cherish it forever.

New US Theatrical Trailer for A Dangerous Method!

New US Theatrical Trailer for A Dangerous Method!

David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method gets a new version of the theatrical trailer just ahead of its festival bow in Venice.

With the Venice Film Festival kicking into high gear, the Fall Movie Season has officially begun (It’s September already!) One of the best things about Fall movies is that one needs t retrieve their brain from whence they checked it on Memorial Day and put it back into use. The best of the best are about to start coming down the pipeline and we need to be ready!

A Dangerous Method looks to be a smart psycho/sexual drama (probably more along the lines of Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers than his more recent work like A History of Violence or Eastern Promises). The film stars Viggo Mortenson as Sigmund Freud, Michael Fassbender as Carl Jung and Keira Knightley as Sabine Spielrein (who starts out as a patient, becomes a mistress and then later in life, becomes another pioneer in the field of psychotherapy herself.)

This trailer looks a lot like the European version, but without the spanking. We Americans are so puritanical! We need to save ourselves from ourselves. (Dr. Jung would not be pleased. Freud might be). The movie itself is getting raves from critics in Venice. We’ll have more from the premiere.

Following the Venice and Toronto festivals, A Dangerous Method opens in the US on November 23 and in the UK on 10 February.

Venice Spreads Contagion! (PHOTOS)

Venice Spreads Contagion! (PHOTOS)

Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion got the full red carpet glamour treatment on Saturday night in Venice. On hand were the director and some of his all-star cast, including Gwyneth Paltrow (loved the dress from the waist up. Waist down it was just odd), Laurence Fishburne, Jennifer Ehle and Matt Damon, whose shaved pate matched his director’s. Matt’s is for an upcoming film. He’s currently filming Elysium for Neil Blomkamp up in British Columbia. Not sure exactly what the plot is or why he needs a bald head, (something sci-fi), but it’s got an amazing cast. I’m disappointed that Kate Winslet wasn’t there. She premiered Carnage and Mildred Pierce (which is being released theatrically in some parts of Europe) and then apparently left. Maybe she wanted to get back to New York for her kids to start school. Maybe Louis was bored. Who knows. I just wanted to see another dazzling red carpet ensemble. (Everyone is still talking about that Stella McCartney optical illusion thing. Stunning!)

Bringing the glam was Mrs. Matt Damon, Luciana Barroso Damon. She looked gorgeous, although she probably looks gorgeous when she gets up in the morning. Matt shared his wife’s nickname for him, which is “Red Alert”. Apparently he’s the kind of over-protective parent that checks to see if his daughters are still breathing at night, but he insists he’s not a “helicopter parent.” That’s so cute.

Here’s some pics of the pretty people. Contagion opens in the US this Friday September 9 and 21 October in the UK. Next up in Venice, more Fassy at the premiere of Shame!
