Woot! It seems to be feast or famine with news coming off of the set of Joss Whedon's The Avengers. Well, we must have been very good because thanks to Entertainment Weekly (via Comingsoon.net) we have three colorful pics of some pretty colorful super heroes! 

I swear this movie is going to be just bursting at the seams with testosterone filled goodness.  We have Chris Evans' Captain America giving the evil eye to whomever tried to tell him that Robert Downey, Jr.'s Iron Man, was hotter than he is, but Chris Hemsworth as Thor just laughs because he knows it's him. Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye thinks he deserves a piece of that action too. (Say it or he'll shoot you with an arrow). Then for the gentlemens (or whoever, I don't judge) there's Scarlett Johannson as Black Widow in her skintight black leathers and big guns. Where's Mark Ruffalo? Hulk need love too!

Now this looks intense! I've been hearing about Amit Gupta's Resistance for some time now and have been eagerly awaiting a trailer or news or something…   So finally, thanks to The Guardian, we get a trailer and it would seem to confirm everything I've heard about the film: well written, well acted, grim and thought-provoking. It's a drama set in an alternate Britain in which D-Day has failed and the country is under Nazi occupation. In 1944 a group of women in an isolated Welsh village ( the setting of the novel and the film is The Olchon, a real valley in the Welsh borders) wake up to discover all of the their husbands have mysteriously vanished. 

Screenwriter Owen Sheers adapted his own novel. Resistance stars Michael Sheen (of whom I am a big fan. It's tough to see him like that), Andrea Riseborough (rapidly becoming one of my new favorite British actresses. Brighton Rock, W.E.),  Kimberly Nixon, Iwan Rheon, Stanislav Ianevski, Tom Wlaschiha and Anatle Taubman.

Resistance is set for release in the UK 25th November. I hope that someone picks it up for US distribution (paging Sony Classics…The Weinstein Company? IFC?…anyone…Bueller?)

Well, five characters and one director. In addition to the one-sheets for Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Alexander Skarsgård and John Hurt, Lars von Trier gets his own poster for his moody and atmospheric end-of-the-world drama, Melancholia. I can only assume that he's decided that he can't outrun the publicity he's garnered since Cannes for being everything from a neo-Nazi to, at the very least, a misanthropic curmudgeon, so he'll embrace it instead.  Considering that this is an art-house film, it's getting a pretty sizable marketing push, especially coming from a small niche distributor like Artificial Eye.

Melancholia, in which two sisters find their already strained relationship challenged as a mysterious new planet threatens to collide into the Earth, opens in the UK this Friday September 30 and will play the New York Film Festival, which begins this weekend. We get VOD on October 7th and then a limited release on November 11th.

The internet is abuzz with rumors of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore already being separated and Ashton's alleged infidelity and what's pretty much confirming the unsaid are the cryptic tweets Demi is tweeting.

That and the fact that Ashton and Demi spent their 6th year Wedding Anniversary apart and now some biotch is coming forward claiming she and Ashton had sex that night. And if that isn't enough to shock you, this alleged girl Ashton cheated with is shopping around her story for a big payday. 

Can you say tacky? It's bad enough that they allegedly had sex on Ashton and Demi's wedding anniversary (mind you they may have been separated and he was free to do so) but it's just disgusting that she feels the need to shop her story for money. That's one alley shy of hookerville, no?

Apparently Ashton and some friends went to FLUXX nightclub (in San Diego) where Ashton was allegedly on the prowl for a woman. Enter 23 year old Sara Leal who has since gone into hiding and has hired the same attorney that the nurse at the rehab centre who claimed Lindsay Lohan hit her hired. I guess if this girl were serious about securing beaucoup bucks she would secure Gloria Allred, so it's interesting what her angle might be. 

Thedirty.com got the exclusive on this latest allegation against Ashton as one of Sara Leal's 'friends' tipped off Nik who was given Sara's contact information. When he did so she apparently wanted $250,000 to tell her story. 

Sounds to me like Ashton and Demi have been separated longer than a week (approximately when the sexing took place between Ashton and Sara) so is this really a story? I'm sure they'll announce it when they are good and ready.

Personally I really like Ashton and Demi because they do a lot of good work outside of their respective careers, so it kind of sucks that they are going through all of this crap. But I guess that's life in the public eye.

Demi tweeted a picture of herself with the caption 'blinding insomnia is a bitch!" and I have to say I would do pretty much just about anything to wake up looking like that! She doesn't look to have any makeup on and her hair isn't standing on end like the Bride of Frankenstein. Damn.

Wow, does this look like it's just gonna rip me to shreds! Maybe it's the U2 song playing underneath it,  but the trailer for Stephen Daldry's (The Hours, Billy Elliott) Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close got in and twisted from the opening frames. It's the story of a ten year old boy whose father (Tom Hanks) is killed on 9/11. Their relationship is shown in flashbacks as the boy (newcomer Thomas Horn)  and his mother (Sandra Bullock) try to cope with the loss. There's also a mystery involving a key.

The official synopsis: A nine-year-old amateur inventor, jewelry designer, astrophysicist, tambourine player and pacifist, searches New York for the lock that matches a mysterious key left by his father when he was killed in the September 11 attacks. 

Based on Jonathan Safran Foer’s 2005 novel, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close has a screenplay by Eric Roth (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Forrest Gump, The Insider, Ali, Munich) and also stars James Gandolfini, Viola Davis, Max von Sydow, Jeffrey Wright and John Goodman. It opens in limited (read awards season) release on Christmas Day and then wide on January 20 in the US and 3 February in the UK.
