ABC's new drama, "Once Upon a Time" begins tonight, Sunday October 23. It's one of two shows focusing on 'fairy tales in the real world' this fall, the second being NBC's "Grimm", which premieres Friday October 28. The two are very different however, "Grimm" is more of a "police procedural" that just so happens to dovetail with fantasy and is much darker than the family-friendly "Once Upon a Time". I'm not sure which came first, all of the competing Snow White theatrical films or these two television series but it's clear that Hollywood has decided to mine the "classics" for new material. "Once Upon a Time" comes from former Lost writers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, and also sports Damon Lindelof as a consulting producer.
"Once Upon a Time" starts where most fairy tells end: at happily-ever-after. Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) is dead, presumably defeated by the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla), only to be rescued and revived by the kiss of Prince Charming (Josh Dallas). The Evi, vengeful Queen curses Snow White, Prince Charming and all of the characters of the fairytale world to be frozen in time and in a faraway place.
The story jumps between the set-up for the curse through flashbacks, introducing us to the fairytale characters who will soon be relevant in a new context, and the modern-day world, where a woman with a troubled past named Emma Swan (House‘s Jennifer Morrison), a bail bondswoman, whose life changes when the son she gave up for adoption 10 years earlier shows up on her doorstep. Henry (Jared Gilmore) tells the disbelieving Emma that she's the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming.They now live in Storybrooke, Maine, with no memory of who they really are and "where the magic and mystery of Fairy Tales just may be real".
I think this looks like a lot of fun. I'm a Robert Carlyle fan so I can't wait to see him as Rumplestilskin/Mr. Gold.

Twilight's Robert Pattinson and one of his costar Ashley Greene make their way to the UGC Caucines in Paris, France where they are going to be answering questions from fans. Is it fair to say the Twilight Breaking Dawn frenzy has officially begun? I think so.
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 hits theatres in less than a month (November 18th) so between now and then we are going to be seeing a lot more of our favorite vampires. And don't forget on November 3rdRobert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be on hand at Grauman's Chinese Theatre to have their body parts cemented.

Survivor's 2004 million dollar fan favorite winner, Rupert Boneham is running for Governor of Indiana. On Saturday the 47 year old gentle giant announced he is joining the Libertarian Party hoping for the vote to replace Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels. Rupert's released a statement as to his reasons for running:
"I have only one interest: Empowering Hoosiers to give back to their communities. If the government puts up roadblocks, then they should be repealed," Boneham said.
"Hoosiers have consistently voted in professional politicians and look at the results. Hoosiers should have a different choice in 2012,"
Rupert knows a thing or two about giving back: when he won the $1 million in 2004, he gave a portion of it back to Rupert's Kids which is an Indianapolis-based charity he founded that mentors and provides skills training to at-risk youths.
The chair of Indiana's Libertarian party Sam Goldstein, says that he is"very excited" about Boneham's announcement.
"His nomination would be a great asset to the party and I look forward to working with him and his campaign team should he win the nomination at our convention next spring,"
If Indiana loves him as much as Survivor viewers did, you know he's winning.
Madonna's older brother Anthony Ciccone is a 55 year old man living under a bridge in Traverse City, Michigan and says that despite being a sibling of multi-millionaire Madonna no one in his family is willing to help him out. Anthony at one point worked at his father's winery and vineyard for years but was fired a year and a half ago and has since been homeless:
“My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time. You think I haven’t answered this kind of question a bazillion times — why my sister is a multibazillionarie, and I’m homeless on the street?”
Luckily for Anthony and other homeless people in the area, the churches are working together to provide a meal to the homeless for free. Despite his family's wealth, Anthony has a message for people:
“Never say never,” he said. “This could happen to anybody.”
“I don’t have any income, I’ve got to go collect bottles and cans, do odd jobs.”
And with winter just around the corner the fear of frostbite and even death is something he can't ignore especially with rule that shelters have to kick the homeless out at 8 a.m.:
If you spend enough time on frozen concrete without proper insulation you will get frostbite, he said. “You have no idea how gruesome it is.” “You get nerve damage. That’s the milder stage, in the severe stage you have tissue damage, that is when you lose parts of your body.”
“I got frostbite on my feet last winter, Ciccone said. “A friend of mine lost all ten toes. Several have died of hypothermia.” “You go and find a place to stay warm like the lobby at the jail, or you take a walk to get your feet warm and go to Meijer’s and sit in the lobby there.”
So that begs the question of whether Madonna and family should help out her homeless brother? We don't know all sides to the story, but It makes you wonder what happened for them to turn their back on him and let him live on the streets. However if Madonna is willing to help the children of Malawi, does it seem cruel that she isn't even helping out her own brother?
It's Ryan Reynolds' 35th birthday and you get the pressies. We've got pics of himself and the Baconator (Kevin Bacon) on set yesterday in Boston (something I have still yet to see by the way.) Does that may Reynolds' "Bacon Score" 1 or 0? Both he and Bacon are filming R.I.P.D.in which a recently slain cop (Reynolds) joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him.
I keep trying to figure out where Reynolds' "apartment" is while he's living here in Boston (and they've been here quite a while). I think it's Beacon Hill, but I'm probably way off (for all of you stalkers in the Boston area. One person who knows is Blake Lively who has been seen repeatedly leaving in the wee small hours of the morning. That's just wrong on so many levels.)
R.I.P.D. also stars Jeff Bridges, Marisa Miller (who will play Bridges 'avatar'. Can't wait to find out what that's about), Mary-Louise Parker and Robert Knepper. Directed by Robert Schwentke (Red, The Time Traveler's Wife, Flightplan), the film opens June 28, 2013.

Six months after a very difficult pregnancy, Mariah Carey 40, and husband Nick Cannon 31, shared their twin boy and girl Moroccan and Monroe with Barbara Walters and the world for ABC's 20/20.
When they walked into the nursery and the babies were both sitting up totally glammed up I thought I was going to die. That was the cutest thing ever. Their nursery is bigger than a lot of people's apartments. Can you imagine the lifestyle these two kids are going to grow up in?
Shortly after Mariah and Nick married in 2008, Mariah became pregnant but suffered a miscarriage. When she became pregnant with Moroccan and Monroe she did so through infertility treatments but also had to take injections of progesterone during the first while of the pregnancy to ensure she didn't miscarry. Toward the end of the pregnancy she couldn't get up and down on her own:
"I don't think I understood the enormity or the magnitude of what it really does to your body," she explained. "It's not just, oh you don't look pretty and you have a bump."
