New Trailer for George Clooney in The Descendants!

New Clip from The Descendants!

If Alexander Payne's The Descendants is as good as it's purported to be, a mixture of humor and pathos that is the director's stock in trade then I'm calling it right now, it will be down to the wire between this and The Artist come Sunday February 26.

Granted, I'm making this bold assertion on the basis of a couple of trailers and a handful of clips from both movies. I have yet to see the full length version of either one and lord knows it's possible that the best bits are in the trailers. There are, however, a lot of people who have seen both films, since they've both been traveling the festival circuit for the past few months.  I'm a fan of Payne's films (ElectionAbout SchmidtSideways) and I have high hopes for The Descendants, plus who doesn't love George Clooney? He plays Matt King, an indifferent husband and father who has to reconnect with his two daughters after his wife suffers a tragic accident. At the same time he has to decide whether or not to sell his family's land that had been handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries. I can't wait to see it when it opens November 18 in the US (although not until 27 January in the UK)

Just ‘In Time’ Clips with Justin Timberlake!

Behind the Scenes and New Posters for JT's New Flick, In Time!

In the future people stop aging at 25 and must work to buy themselves more time. That's the premise of Andrew Niccol's sci-fi action adventure In Time. Here are a bunch of clips all gathered together in one place for six minutes of Justin Timberlake, as the young man who finds himself with more time than he can imagine and must run from the corrupt police force to save his life, packed excitement!

The action and chase sequences shown here are pretty straight-forward but they still deliver some visceral thrills. In Time, despite my earlier qualms seems like it might actually be a relatively competent mix of brains and action. I could still be wrong, but I'll bet it's worth a look.

The rest of the cast of In Time appears to do the most they can with pretty standard, if not overused sci-fi archetypes, including Amanda Seyfried (Mama Mia, Red Riding Hood) as poor little rich girl Sylvia (in a killer Cleopatra wig), Vincent Kartheiser ("Mad Men") as her corrupt father, and Cillian Murphy (The Dark Knight, Inception) at his creepy best as the "timekeeper" determined to uphold the social order.

In Time opens October 28 in the US and 1 November in the UK. Enjoy the clips!

Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Week 5 Recap 10/17/11

Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Week 5 Recap

It's 80's week on Dancing With The Stars in this Season 13 Week 5 recap and how nice that the Bangles are opening with Eternal Flame, and Walk Like an Egyptian. Now that brings back memories!

This post is going to be updated in real time so keep refreshing kittens. We'll have which dance our couples danced and their scores along with some fun commentary. And by fun I mean perverted. And might I add that the 80's hair and fashion should never be repeated!

Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy Tango –  They danced to Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. These two really butt heads during rehearsal but I have to say that they did great on this Tango although I don't think the end with Hope pretending to sing into the mic was necessarily Tango-like. They seemed really tight in their dance steps but she's not an actress so it's difficult for her to tap into the mood of a tango. Scores: 8/8/8 = 24/30.

Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya Jive – They danced to Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham. Each week this is the one celebrity I am totally pumped seeing because you are guaranteed a laugh. Anna is right in that Carson IS the entertainment for this season. Omg I love the pom poms on these two. They were off in their dancing and you know they will be penalized for that, but the judges were loving it as much as we were. Scores: 6/6/7 = 19/30.

Nancy Grace and Tristan McManus  Rumba – They danced to Spandau Ballet's True (LOVE this song). It was funny watching Nancy and Tristan bicker in their rehearsals but especially to see Nancy do her cheer from her high school days. They seemed to be having a great time on the dance floor tonight. I wouldn't say it's the best Rumba but it's not the worst. It's just not very 'believable'.  Scores: 7/7/8 = 22/30.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff Samba – They danced to Gloria Estevan and the Miami Sound Machine's Rhythm Conga and I'm going to say this now: J.R. is your Season 13 winner. He is consistent and he just gets better and better. This man is a powerhouse and technically sound. Man, he can MOVE those freaking hips. I can't wait to hear Carrie Ann make her oinky commentary. I think it was perfection. Scores: 9/9/10 = 28/30.

Robert Kardashian and Cheryl Burke Rumba – They danced to Lionel Richie's Hello. I have to say I was really impressed with Rob.It must be difficult to get sexy with someone who you view more as a sibling but I think he pulled it off. And I loved the colors on them. 80's or not, they looked good on them. Scores: 9/8/8 = 25/30.

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer Samba – They danced to Kool and The Gang's Get Down on It and Chaz really did do great. I think that Lacey's father Buddy helping him out really helped him to feel more confident in his ability. You can see his confidence grow with each dance. It really is a beautiful thing. Scores: 7/7/7 = 21/30.

David Arquette and Kym Johnson Tango – They danced to Soft Cell's Tainted Love. I agree with Carrie Ann in that David is sexy. He's totally doable. KYm looked so sexy in her outfit. Did Kym kick his sunglasses off? I loved this dance. I really hope the judges award David for his hard work. Scores: 8/9/8 = 25/30.

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough Fox Trot – Omg for John Waters to show up in rehearsals was incredible. He is such a nice man and you can really tell he loves Ricki. They danced to Phil Collin's 'Easy Lover'. You know last week they did so incredible it does place a lot of pressure on them to do even better. I don't know if the judges will consider this as good. I always love seeing Derek and Ricki dance but I think he dress was too distracting for me. Scores: 8/8/8 = 24/30.

Who did you like? Who do you think is going home tomorrow.

Kelly Osbourne Doesn’t Hold A Grudge. Unless You’re Christina Aguilera

Kelly Osbourne Doesn't Hold A Grudge. Unless You're Christina Aguilera

It was back on August 4th that we first reported Kelly Osbourne calling Christina Aguilera a Fat Bitch. Flash forward two months later and Kelly Osbourne is still going on about Christina Aguilera's weight gain on the Fashion Police when she said: "She called me fat for so many f***ing years," Osbourne vented, "so you know what? F**k you! You're fat too."  Are we really doing this post? Yes we are. It's called a slow news day.

Christina performed at last weekend's Michael Jackson Tribute concert where she was wearing a less-than-flattering outfit that was 'discussed' on The Fashion Police. Kelly wasn't the only one with the barbs. Joan Rivers said of Christina Aguilera: "Lady Marmalade got into the peanut butter again" Despite that being very cruel (and it is) it is a funny play on words.

Fellow Fashion Policer George Kotsiopoulos indicated that despite the weight gain, Christina Aguilera is probably still a size 2/4. Because Kelly STILL can't let it go she quipped: Trust me," she said. "I'm a 2/4. That is not a 2/4."

While I love both Christina Aguilera and Kelly Osbourne, I think it's time Kelly STOPPED ALREADY. Mind you if she did I wouldn't have anything to write about would I? Hmmm. Decisions, decision.

Whether Kelly was or wasn't as heavy as Christina is now, who cares? Christina is older and she's had a child, and from the rumors (if they are true) loves to party. A lot. Life has a way of smacking us upside the head, so Kelly needs to clam it. What's really sad is that this is from NINE years ago.

And on that note, my ice cream awaits me biotches.

Must See Clips from The Adventures of Tintin!

Must See Clips from The Adventures of Tintin!

These are really terrific! We have new clips and a behind-the-scenes featurette! A whole bunch have been released for Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin and can be found over at Indiewire and after watching them, I am now officially stoked for this movie. (It's probably a lock for the Best Animated Feature Oscar. What else is there? Yogi Bear?) I find the whole motion capture process amazing, but then I'm technologically challenged. It's fascinating to watch the actors, all covered in dots, wearing special suits, having to imagine situations and props. And if you look at the storyboards in one of the clips, it appears they've captured the look of the original comics to the smallest detail.

The clips certainly amp up the excitement and put the adventure into The Adventures of Tintin! I love Andy Serkis' Scottish brogue and I love hearing Daniel Craig's voice come out of villain Red Rackham (and especially seeing him visit the set)!

This one's adorable. It's all about "Snowy"!

The Adventures of Tintin looks like great, colorful fun and opens in the UK on 26 October and in the US on December 21!

Capitol Seal from The Hunger Games!

Capital Seal from The Hunger Games!

In the world of The Hunger Games, the nation of Panem (what used to be known as North America) is divided into twelve districts, each with their own seal. (We called them posters, but they are not.) We've shown you five. There's a sixth at the bottom. We've also got the "Capital Seal" to share. Loathe as I am to send anyone to this particular social media site, Facebook has a lot more stuff if you're jonesing for anything related to The Hunger Games. Lionsgate, who won't be releasing the film until next March, is already putting on the hard sell for this one. There are new Facebook pages with Districts set up for the areas in which the players of The Hunger Games take part:. You can see the other districts by substituting any number for the “10.” There's also a demand to “Like your district immediately” as part of the film's viral campaign.

And it's alive!

Head over to the official Capital website for more.

Official synopsis: Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games.  Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy.  If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland and Lenny Kravitz, The Hunger Games arrives in theaters on March 23, 2012.
