New Poster for A Dangerous Method!

New Poster for A Dangerous Method!

More Michael Fassbender! Woot! There's a terrific new quad poster for David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method starring Viggo Mortensen, Keira Knightley and Michael Fassbender which after taking yet another city by storm when it played the New York Film Festival last week, will travel to London for the BFI London Film Festival. (Ya gotta love festival season.)  Now this poster I like. A Lot. It showcases all three stars equally while still suggesting that it is Knightley's character that comes between Mortensen and Fassbender.

Mortensen plays Sigmund Freud; Fassbender, Carl Jung and Knightley Sabina Spielrein, at first a patient of both, then the lover of one, then a prominent mind in the field of psychiatry in her own right. The film is the story of the relationship between Freud  and Jung  and how that relationship changes when Jung's adherence to Freud's theories are challenged by new patients Spielrein and Otto Gross (Vincent Cassel).

I am loving this "Year of the Fassy". In addition to A Dangerous Method, he's also been taking Steve McQueen's Shame around to all of the same festivals and is earning equally high marks for both. The year both of those high-brow films will be released began with the upscale popcorn epic X-Men: First Class (and will be bookended by Steven Soderbergh's Haywire in January.) Now that's the mark of a true movie star.

Finally a Trailer for Carnage with Kate Winslet!

More Images and the First Poster for Carnage!

Woo Hoo! I'm so looking forward to this smart, funny movie! I'm so glad we finally have a trailer to show you for Carnage, Roman Polanski's film version of Yasmina Reza'saward-winning stage play "God of Carnage" which stars the high wattage quartet of Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly. (His role was played on Broadway by James 'Tony Soprano' Gandolfini. I wish I didn't know that.)

I have to say I smiled or laughed all the way through this. It doesn't appear to be nearly as venomous or even as acidic as Albee's "Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf" against which all of these talky, intellectual parlor dramas will forever be measured. That's okay. I think I'll still be able to enjoy it.

The plot is simple: the son of one couple hit the son of the other couple over the head with a stick. The four meet in the Brooklyn apartment of The Longstreets (Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly), to discuss the situation. Apparently drinking, snarking, vomiting and sharp, witty dialogue ensue. Can't wait! After having played most of the major festivals, Carnage will open in the US and Canada on  December 16.

Johnny Depp Falls Down Goes BOOM Really Hard (VIDEO)

Johnny Depp Falls Down Goes BOOM Really Hard (VIDEO)

Johnny Depp was on the Hollywood Boulevard at a bar called 25 Degrees over the weekend when he and a  friend fell down really hard, but bounced right back up again

It looks like Johnny could be drunk or a bit drunk so chances are he didn't feel too much from the fall. His security was shoving the cameras out of the way but they got a great shot of him in the back of the car giving a 'salute' of some kind. It looks like his friend turned around and knocked Johnny to the ground and he fell on top of him. Who hasn't had an awkward moment like that?

Check out the video.

Bethenny Frankel and Daughter Bryn Cover Parenting Magazine

Bethenny Frankel and Daughter Bryn Cover Parenting Magazine

Bethenny Frankel and her adorable 1-1/2 year old daughter Bryn cover the November Parenting Magazine and in the magazine she admits that she doesn't want Bryn to be so Type A like herself:

“I hope Bryn’s not so Type A when she grows up, like I am. I want her to do exactly what she wants, but I hope she doesn’t end up being too complicated.”

I don't know about you but I love Bethenny Frankel. I love her reality show because she's real and so down-to-earth and feisty. And when you are on top of the world there are bound to be haters and people criticizing her parenting skills. She has a strategy for that:

One of the downsides to fame is the constant criticism you get. Yet all moms everywhere have to deal with negative feedback at some point. My attitude is, it’s a non-event—just let it roll off your back.

She tries not to be her own worst critic when it comes to being Bryn`s mom:

I like to think that I’m doing a good job. I’m there for my daughter almost all the time, as much as I can possibly be. Sometimes, it’s true, I have to travel, and I miss a night with her. When that happens, I feel like I’m going to freak out . But I tell myself that the fact that I get so upset is yet another sign I’m a good mom. That’s all I really care about.

She admits she makes mistakes and doesn`t freak out about them:

Sometimes I accidentally give Bryn food that’s just a little too hot. Or I’ll be turning her around during a bath, and she’ll dunk and get all the water in her mouth. What can you do? Just say “I’m sorry!”

For more about Bethenny and Bryn head on over to Parenting Magazine.

First Official Trailer for The Avengers!

Concept Art for The Avengers!

The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon, opens in theaters all over the world next May 4th and Marvel has just released the first trailer! This is the greatest collection of superheros all in one place ever and includes Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) along with Director of  the peacekeeping organization known as  S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Thor's nemesis, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Professor Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard)

The plot revolves around Fury, who needs a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster when an unexpected enemy emerges to threaten global safety and security. Fury spans the globe in a daring recruitment effort the assemble The Avengers.

Looks like Loki is the villain of the piece. It's interesting to see the Cleveland locations that we saw pics of over the summer, in this trailer. This trailer and I'm guessing the film itself is going to rely heavily on the star power of Robert Downey, Jr and his Tony Stark. Iron Man was, after all the film/character that got the ball rolling on the whole Marvel pantheon cinematic reboot.  RDJ's gonna do what RDJ does best (and what they pay him the big bucks for).  Personally, I think this initial trailer delivers. It gives us an idea of what to expect with the promise of greater things to come. I can't wait!
