Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin opens in the UK this month so the push is on with new material being released almost daily. Thus we have a new trailer and it certainly puts the emphasis on adventure! I have to say, I was aware of the source material before the movie but not very familiar. Is this stuff for kids? Tintin and his new cohort, Capt. Haddock, are nearly blown up, have their boat sunk and get shot at repeatedly. Tintin can apparently fly a plane, ride a motorcycle and perform high wire stunts.

Well, I'm not a kid and I think it looks like great fun, certainly visually spectacular. The Adventures of Tintin features the voices (and movements) of Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Toby Jones, Tony Curran, Daniel Mays, Sebastian Roche, Mackenzie Crook and Cary Elwes and was filmed using motion capture technology with the help of Peter Jackson's WETA Studios. This is Spielberg's first comic book adaptation, his first animated film and his first to be shot digitally. It opens in the US on December 25.

Eddie Cibrian wash rushed to the hospital Tuesday night after he was involved in an accident on the set of his (now canceled) television series Playboy Club in Chicago. His accident occurred the same day the show's cancelation was announced after two weeks of running.

He caught his right heel under a 200 pound steel door that resulted in a deep gash (and probably great pain). He was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital immediately. 

Is this a ploy to get workmen's comp before the show is canceled? Does that work in Hollywood? Just asking. 

We hope he gets better real soon.

Julianne Hough's career has been on fire since she left Dancing With The Stars, but she's returning to the DWTS dance floor on Tuesday, October 11 which is just days before her film Footloose opens in theatres (October 14).

So while it's a reunion of sorts to be back on the Dancing With The Stars dance floor, and myself and I know a lot of you would LOVE for her to be back on the show, her movie career is way too hot. This visit is obviously to promote Footloose:

"I'll be dancing with Kenny (Wormald, her co-star who fills Kevin Bacon's shoes as Ren). We will definitely be dancing to Footloose, but we will have a few tricks up our sleeves in the beginning."

I've included photos of her today at  The Grove where she is talking to Mario Lopez about Footloose and also photos of her from the Los Angeles premiere of the movie which was held last night at the Regency Village Theatre. She looks amazing. Did I mention I miss her on Dancing With The Stars?

Wow! If Steven Spielberg's War Horse doesn't get the tear ducts flowing, you might want to check that you have them. Here's trailer number two from Dreamworks for this Christmas time, awards baiting flick and it is steeped in Spielbergian goodness, from the gorgeous cinematography of Spielberg stalwart Janusz Kaminiski to John Williams soaring score (not to mention plenty of closeups of the "Spielberg face" – you know, that wonder struck expression that's been a staple of every Spielberg film since Hooper first saw the shark from the deck of the Orca), and would seem to be a winner from those factors alone not to mention the subject matter and the fact that the Broadway play is already a hit.

The synopsis for the film is simple: Follows a young man named Albert and his horse, Joey, and how their bond is broken when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War One. Despite being too young to enlist, Albert heads to France to save his friend. It would appear that Joey has miles to go and many hurdles to jump before he and Albert are reunited. 

War Horse stars Emily Watson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, David Thewlis, Toby Kebbell, Eddie Marsan, Peter Mullan, David Kross and Jeremy Irvine as Albert. The film switched release dates with Spielberg's other holiday entry, The Adventures of Tintin, and will now be released December 21.

I know it's only the beginning of October, but there's some good old fashioned fun coming our way for Christmas. Here's the first trailer for UK favorite Arthur in the appropriately titled Arthur Christmas.  On Christmas night at the North Pole, Santa's youngest son Arthur   looks to use his father's high-tech operation for an urgent mission. And we'll finally get the answer to the age old question "How does Santa deliver all those toys in one night?"

Arthur Christmas features the voices of James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Matt Lucas, Bill Nighy, Jim Broadbent, Ashley Jensen and Imelda Staunton. Who cares what it's about? That's some talented cast! Watch the trailer. You'd have to be Scrooge not to enjoy it.

Arthur Christmas will be released in the UK on 11 November and in the US and Canada on November 23.
