As a Canadian I can't tell you how pissed I am that our customs' officials did not let Russell Brand into Canada last night so he could perform at Casino Rama in Orillia. Poor Russell was a bit frantic tweeting that he was going to be late for his show (that started at 9 and was expected to have 5,000 people in attendance). His final tweet of the night is the one above.

What a shame because a few months back he was allowed into Vancouver but the customs' officials in Toronto must have been pissed to be working Saturday night or something because they wouldn't let him in. It could be because of his drug arrests from a hundred years ago, I don't know but he hardly poses a threat to Canada. All I know is that on behalf of Canada I am sorry Russell Brand. You didn't deserve to be denied entry. I would NEVER deny you entry. Ever.

We have some great new images from David Fincher's remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to share with you, courtesy of Empire (via Firstshowing). the film is the cover story for the mag's October issue and inside are some fantastic pics that seem to capture the characters is a way that gives them more life than anything previously released.

And then there's the one with Daniel Craig handcuffed and chained to a chair (I would have chosen a different piece of furniture but I can certainly get behind the sentiment) "Blomqvist and Salander have an odd relationship." That's putting it mildly.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is based on a novel by Stieg Larrson and stars along with Craig and Mara, Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Robin Wright, Julian Sands, Stellan Skarsgard, Goren Visnjic, Steven Berkoff and Joel Kinnamon. 

The (simple) synopsis:Journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Craig) is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander (Mara), a young computer hacker. 

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opens in the US & Canada on December 21 and 26 December in the UK.

Elizabeth Hurley 45, accepted Austrialian cricket player Shane Warne's 42, marriage proposal yesterday in front of a crowded restaurant. After a romantic meal last night at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews Shane made the announcement in front of a VIP crowd that broke out into applause. He didn`t get down on one knee (I`m sure dude spends enough time on his knees) but it was a joyous ocassion nonetheless:

‘Shane proposed over dinner and it was fairly public, not a private affair.  'It was a VIP crowd in there this evening. It was residents only, including Dunhill past players. ‘He didn’t get down on one knee, but when it was announced the other guests in the restaurant stood up and applauded.

‘Everyone there was absolutely delighted.’

I'm pretty sure her ex-husband Arun Nayar isn't delighted. Elizabeth allegedly left him to be with Shane. Elizabeth and Shane have been together 10 months with Elizabeth's divorce to Nayar being finalized in June.

Today Elizabeth is rocking a huge square sapphire with two diamonds on either side. Congrats to the happy couple.

Last night at Chinatown's Historical Central Plaza in Los Angeles one of the most anticipated video games 'RAGE' was launched with Charlize Theron as the host of the party.

RAGE has its official launch next week and with the help of the likes of True Blood's Joe Manganiello, Alessandra Ambrosio, Snoop Dogg, Chris Evans, Lynda Carter and more it's getting itself off to a great start.
