Gorgeous Pics from My Week with Marilyn!

Gorgeous Pics from My Week with Marilyn!

My Week with Marilyn, directed by Simon Curtis, stars Michelle Williams (Brokeback MountainBlue Valentine) as Marilyn Monroe and it takes place in London when Marilyn was there filming The Prince and the Showgirl with Laurence Olivier, who is played by Kenneth Branagh. Eddie Redmayne plays Colin Clark, an employee of Lord Olivier, who documents the tense interaction between Olivier and Monroe during that film's production.  and we finally have the first trailer. Considering that the film takes place over the course of one week, there does appear to be an awful lot packed into those seven days, but in any case, Williams looks luminous.

The rest of the cast includes Judi Dench, Dominic Cooper, Emma Watson, Dougray Scott (as Arthur Miller. I doubt Miller ever looked that good. Dayum), Zoe Wanamaker, Toby Jones, Derek Jacobi, Simon Russell Beale and Julia Ormond as Vivien Leigh.

My Week with Marilyn had its world premiere at the New York Film Festival last week. The Weinstein Company will release the film in the US on November 4 and in the UK on 18 November.  Take a look at these pics. Michelle Williams looks fantastic and is getting awards notice already.

Sean Penn Channels Robert Smith in This Must Be the Place

Sean Penn Channels Robert Smith in This Must Be the Place

Yes, that really is Sean Penn, looking like Robert Smith's older sadder brother in This Must Be the Place, directed by Paolo Sorrentino and costarring Frances McDormand, Judd Hirsch, Kerry Condon and Eve Hewson (daughter of Bono).

Cheyenne (Sean Penn) is a wealthy, bored and jaded retired rock star.  Learning his father is close to death, he travels to New York in the hope of being reconciled with him during his final hours, only to arrive too late. Having been estranged for over 30 years, it isn't until after his death that he learns of his father's humiliation in Auschwitz at the hands of SS Officer Aloise Muller. He embarks on a quest to find his father's persecutor, now hiding out in the U.S. So begins a life-altering journey across the heartland of America to track down and confront his father's nemesis. Cheyenne's journey becomes one of reconciliation and self discovery. As he tracks down Muller, Cheyenne must finally decide if it is redemption he seeks …or revenge.

This Must Be the Place premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and plays this week at the BFI London Film Festival, with many other festivals in between. It opens in the US in December.

Nicole Scherzinger Brings The Sexy to London Fog (PHOTOS)

Nicole Scherzinger 33, brings a sexy refined look to London Fog as the new face of London Fog's Winter 2011/Spring 2012 campaign. Sexy can be classy and classy can be sexy biotches. You know it.

The X-Factor judge and former Pussycat Doll (not to mention disco ball trophy winner of Dancing With The Stars) has not only been crazy busy with all of her work but also mending a broken heart at the same time as she and her longtime boyfriend race car driver Lewis Hamilton recently split.

Something tells me this gorgeous woman will be just fine! In the meantime she is the perfect representation for the London Fog brand.

Butler, Worthington, McConaughey, Oh My!

Butler, Worthington, McConaughey, Oh My!

For weeks we've been hearing that Sam Worthington has been in talks to join Gerard Butler in Antoine Fuqua's Hunter Killer, about an untested submarine commander who teams with Navy seals to rescue the kidnapped Russian President. But now we have word that Butler and Worthington may also team up with Matthew McConaughey for another project, Simon West's Thunder Run. Both of these projects have a complicated history.

Back in November of 2010, it was announced that Fuqua and Butler would make an adaptation of a sci-fi comic book, After Burn. The duo were also in talks to make Consent to Kill, based on a novel by Vince Flynn. Nothing has come of either of those and they seem to be dead in the water. Now we have confirmation of Butler's participation in Hunter Killer from its distributor, Relativity Media. (I've been loathe to talk about this because I'm currently pissed at Relativity's CEO Ryan Kavanaugh for the whole Machine Gun Preacher debacle. But I digress)

So, hot on the heels of that announcement, we have confirmation (after the initial nebulous reports) that Butler and Worthington will, in fact, make Thunder Run, an adaptation of the nonfiction book, "Thunder Run-The Armored Strike to Capture Baghad", by Pulitzer Prize winning correspondent David Zucchino. They will be joined by Matthew McConaughey. This film will not only be in 3D, but entirely CGI, using the same process as James Cameron's Avatar.  (So Worthington should be fine.) Color me skeptical. A completely CGI war movie starring three of the hottest male actors all at the top of their game who will be rendered unrecognizable. According to the Hollywood Reporter, "The trio's work will consist mostly of voicework but there will be green-screen aspects as well." I'm reserving judgment for now.

OH HENRY!

OH HENRY!

Henry Cavill is trying very hard to woo me and become my new boyfriend. He thinks that just because he's younger than my current boyfriend that I'm more susceptible to his rippling six-pack and bulging biceps. I'll admit I'm weakening, but I'm not that easy. Ya gotta show me somethin' Henry! Admittedly he'll get the chance next month when Immortals comes out, but since I'm currently furious with Relativity Media, I don't care if you go see it or not.

What I'm really excited about is Man of Steel! That's right, the Superman movie that's shooting up in Vancouver as we speak. And I'm certainly not the only one: there's been major buzz surrounding this film since it was announced Zack Snyder would direct the reboot for this iconic character and Cavill would star.

Synopsis: Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. When the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as Superman, not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Snyder definitely gets high marks for casting.  Laurence Fishburne will play the editor of The Daily Planet, Perry White. He joins Michael Shannon (Machine Gun PreacherTake Shelter) as General Zod along with Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lar-Van, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy and Russell Crowe as Jor-El.

For the record, this costume's nice but my current boyfriend still looks better in a wetsuit. Just sayin'.

Man of Steel flies into theaters June 14, 2013…yes that's right, 2013.
