In this new clip from Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the first that doesn’t feature star Tom Cruise in any way, Simon Pegg’s Benji Dunn is outlining a part of their plan, in an effort to clear their IMF team’s name, that involves Jeremy Renner’s Brandt making a jump inside a supercomputer. Of course the computer has been switched off so will essentially be as hot as an oven and will feature a 25 foot drop. But Benji will catch him.

In the latest installment, which comes fifteen years after the first film in the franchise (boy do I feel old), the IMF is shut down when it's implicated in the bombing of the Kremilin, causing Ethan Hunt and his new IMF team to go “rogue” to clear their organization’s name, initiating “Ghost Protocol”: No help. No backup. No choice

Mission:Impossible – Ghost Protocol also stars Cruise, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Lea Seydoux and Anil Kapoor star. It opens in  IMAX on December 16 before all other theaters in the US and Canada on December 21^st and 26^th December in the UK. (If you needed another reason to see this, don’t forget about the six minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises that will be attached to this.)

That’s right, all of them! The cast of The Expendables 2 have all been crammed onto this poster and they looked lean, mean and ready to eat glass or f**k you up. They’re back baby, the Godfathers of Action are back in action(now, don’t be mean and call them the Grandfathers. The Stath would have something to say about that I’m sure). Led once again by Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross, Jason Statham as Lee Christmas, anyone who didn’t die in the first one is back for round two. The cameos by Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger (who’s really hoping this will make you forget he’s a classless scumbag) have, this go-round, been expanded into costarring roles.

They’re joined by Chuck Norris, whose invitation to the last gig must have gotten lost in the mail, or he was on his Total Gym and couldn’t get up to answer the phone. How the hell did Jean Claude Van Damme miss out on the opportunity to do some ‘van-damage’ (sorry, I had to) last time out? We’ve also got an Expendable female, relative unknown, Nan Yu. She looks ready to throw down. Liam Hemsworth, fresh from the Hunger Games joins the party, but he’s not on the poster. I hope that doesn’t mean he plays someone’s (Stallone’s) kid or something clichéd like that. Coulda been worse, coulda been Taylor Lautner.

The plot, which was apparently devised before the first one was even released, is currently under a veil of secrecy, but seriously, does it even matter? If you buy a ticket to this and expect exposition, character development and a cohesive storyline, you’re in the wrong theater. The first one was great fun, but I’ll be van-damned if I can tell you what it was about.

The Expendables 2 blasts its way into theaters all over the world on August 17

It’s been a while since we had anything new for The Darkest Hour. In July we got the first images, early August the first trailer followed by a motion poster, but now we have a cool new poster, with the tagline “Survive the Holidays”. I realize it’s appropriate because the film lands in US theaters on Christmas Day, but I think we can all relate to that. Not all of us have an alien invasion to contend with, but for the most part we’re all just trying to survive the holidays. We also have a fantastic new trailer. I literally said “Whoa!” as I watched. At first I was thinking that it had to be fan made, but it’s official. It lets us in on the special effects we can expect in much greater detail than the previous version. There’s no dialogue, just a kick-ass soundtrack.

Filmed on location in Russia, The Darkest Hour follows five young people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack.  The 3D action-thriller highlights the classic beauty of Moscow alongside mind-blowing special effects from the minds of visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Night Watch) and director Chris Gorak. This is only Gorak's second feature. His first, Right at Your Door, was a hit at Sundance in 2006.

As I said before, it may or may not have anything to offer the ever expanding 'alien-invasion genre', other than "the classic beauty of Moscow" and watching it crumble, they do seem to have found a new way for aliens to zap people.

The Darkest Hour gets a December 25 release in the US and 13 January in the UK. It stars Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, Rachel Taylor and Joel Kinnaman as well as many, many Russians.

Almost two months ago, we got a first poster and an intense and seemingly spoiler-filled trailer for Asger Leth's Man on a Ledge starring Sam Worthington. I say seemingly because, to me this bears a great deal of resemblance to F. Gary Gray's under-rated, The Negotiator, complete with Elizabeth Banks (in the Kevin Spacey role) being asked to believe in Worthington's innocence. Of course, whatever's going on with Jamie Bell and his crew is the real hook. The UK version is shorter, tighter and without as much plot detail. I like the UK Quad Poster better too. If you've got acrophobia, it'll make you dizzy. 

Synopsis: An ex-cop and now wanted fugitive stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department negotiator tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes that he might have an ulterior objective.

Man on a Ledge is director Leth's feature debut and stars Worthington, Banks and Bell along with Anthony Mackie, Edward Burns, William Sadler, Kyra Sedgwick, and Ed Harris​ (looking particularly creepy). It opens in theaters January 13 in the US and 27 January in the UK. While I’ve pointed out that January isn’t the dumping ground it once was, it’s still not prime cinematic real estate. Here’s one clue that this might actually belong in the celluloid wasteland: The trailer very clearly shows the always  reliable Titus Welliver and yet imdb lists him as “uncredited”. What’s that about? Did he make a cameo as a favor to the director or did he want his name taken off of the movie?

Rob Kardashian is wowing everyone and especially the judges with how far he has come on season 13 of Dancing With The Stars. His freestyle dance last night totally blew the judges away resulting in a perfect score. This leaves Rob and Cheryl at the top of the leader board going into tonight's FINAL show. Is it enough for him to win the disco ball trophy this year? We'll find out in about 12 hours. Len was impressed and we all know how difficult it is to impress Len:

"Rob, you've given your all. You should be proud. Your family should be proud."

Sister Kim Kardashian attended amid the scrutiny of her very short-lived marriage and the stress it was causing her. She seemed very relaxed and happy for her brother and who can blame her. He has done amazingly well.

Dancing With The Stars' finale took place tonight and saw our stars and professionals perform their freestyles. In the world of freestyles J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff were AMAZING. You could even say perfect because these two got a perfect 30/30 for their sexy dance.

Usually the couple who does the best freestyle wins the competition at this point in the game. That would be nice because Karina has never won the mirror ball trophy and she's one of the hardest workers on the show. And can I just say she has the most banging body?
