X-Factor Hits the Grove PHOTOS

X-Factor Hits the Grove PHOTOS

X-Factor judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger hit up the Grove with contestants Lakoda Rayn, Melanie Amaro, Marcus Canty, LeRoy Bell, Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene and more in Los Angeles last night. Gorgeous host Steve Jones brought his hotness providing eye candy for the pigs like me out there.

Last night Astro copped some MAJOR attitude (he's 14 so attitude from a 14 year old isn't surprising but in front of MILLIONS it kind of is) threatening not to perform like a diva! Stacy Francis was eliminated and says of him:

"I'm very confused by Astro's behavior because I think in that moment you should be pleading for your life and not throwing it away," Francis says of Astro's actions during the show, including telling the crowd he didn't think he had to perform.

"I dont understand his behavior," she continues. "I mean, he's 14. We can call him a teenager and give him an excuse, but bad behavior is bad behavior. I think that he was ungracious in that moment and I think that in the real scheme of things, no matter what, you have to be grateful."

Stacy and Simon danced the night away at the Grove where it looked like Simon had a little nibble on her ear. Enjoy the pics.

Magical New Clip from Martin Scorsese’s Hugo!

Official Trailer and Poster for Hugo

There’s a new clip from Martin Scorsese’s Hugo making the rounds of the interwebz.  After having watched it, I can’t wait to find out how it fits into the context of the film. Apparently there’s a lot more magic involved than I thought!

Hugo is based on the book by Brian Selznick, “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” and it marks director Scorsese’s first foray into “family entertainment”, which obviously is quite the swing of the pendulum away from Mean Streets or Taxi Driver, as well as into 3D.  Scorsese is such a fan of film as a medium as well as a curator of its cultural importance, I can understand why he’d want to delve into the latest fad and play around with the technology. I have a feeling it’ll be a “one and done” experiment. Or at least I hope so.

Hugo is the story of a recently orphaned boy (Asa Butterfield) living in the walls of a train station in Paris and is wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father (Jude Law), an automaton, a young girl (Chloe Moretz) and a key.

The clip is called "Meet Uncle Georges" (Sir Ben Kingsley) and an image (arguably one of the most famous) from Georges  Méliès’ 1902 film, A Trip to the Moon, is among those pages swirling around the room.  I can't wait to find out what all of that is about! Magic I tell you, this film is going to be movie magic! I haven't seen it yet but I can imagine it as being Scorsese's sonnet to the origins of filmmaking, using some of the latest technology.

Hugo also stars Sir Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer, Sasha Baron Cohen, Ray Winstone, Christopher Lee, Helen McCrory and Michael Stuhlbarg. It opens November 23 in the US and Canada (*does demented poodle dance*) and 2 December in the UK.

New Trailer for Romantic Weepy The Vow with Channing Tatum

New Trailer for Romantic Weepy The Vow with Channing Tatum

The Vow is a four hanky weepie directed by Michael Sucsy (HBO’s “Grey Gardens”) and starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum.  What the producers want most of all is for you to connect the two stars to a film based on one of the novels  by best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks.  McAdams, of course, starred in The Notebook while Tatum was the titular Dear John.  They want you to make the Sparks connection so that you’ll know what you can expect from  The Vow and they’re hoping you’ll be ready to eat it up with a spoon and ask for seconds. (Still not a Tatum-tot fan, but I do like McAdams.)

The synopsis: A car accident puts Paige (McAdams) in a coma, and when she wakes up with severe memory loss, her husband Leo (Tatum) works to win her heart again.

The first trailer, which I saw in theaters this summer, gave a lot more away than this one does, but I don’t suppose it matters. If you’re going to see this movie you know what the outcome will be, just like you know the ending of any romance novel you might pick up. It’s the getting there that counts.  One of the four credited writers, Abby Kohn, is a veteran of contemporary romcoms so she should know her way around the material. The supporting cast is good too, including Scott Speedman, Sam Neill, Jessica Lange and Wendy Crewson.

The Vow pledges its undying affection starting on February 10th, 2012 in the US, Canada and the UK.

Second Exciting Trailer for Act of Valor!

Second Exciting Trailer for Act of Valor!

We have the second trailer for Act of Valor, which is a sort of reality/fictional hybrid about a group of Navy SEALS that highlights naval special warfare capability and fleet interaction.

I’ve been seeing the first trailer in theaters all summer and I kept wondering what exactly I was looking at and how any of it could be “real”. The film stars a group of active-duty Navy SEALs and is “inspired by” true events as they attempt to rescue a kidnapped CIA operative which in turn leads to information relating to a terrorist plot against the US. The mission then becomes a worldwide manhunt. It is truly a sign of the times that even in the brief glimpses seen in the two trailers, it plays like a live-action video game.

The official synopsis: An unprecedented blend of real-life heroism and original filmmaking, Act of Valor stars a group of active-duty Navy SEALs in a powerful story of contemporary global anti-terrorism. Inspired by true events, the film combines stunning combat sequences, up-to-the minute battlefield technology and heart-pumping emotion for the ultimate action adventure.

Act of Valor takes audiences deep into the secretive world of the most elite, highly trained group of warriors in the modern world. When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team and their families back home.

Each time they accomplish their mission, a new piece of intelligence reveals another shocking twist to the deadly terror plot, which stretches from Chechnya to the Philippines and from Ukraine to Somalia. The widening operation sends the SEALs across the globe as they track the terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border, where they engage in an epic firefight with an outcome that has potentially unimaginable consequences for the future of America.

The film was directed by ex-stuntmen and documentary filmmakers/commercial directors Mike “Mouse” McCoy (Dust to Glory) and Scott Waugh (Step Into Liquid) and written by Kurt Johnstad (300) and along with the SEALs costars Roselyn Sanchez , Nestor Serrano, Emilio Rivera, Timothy Gibbs  and Alex Veadov .

Act of Valor opens February 17th, 2012 in the US and the UK.

Patrick Dempsey Looks Better Than A Body Has A Right To PHOTOS

Patrick Dempsey Looks Better Than A Body Has A Right To

Bestill my McHornyHeart. It's Grey's Anatomy's Patrick Dempsey looking smoking hot in a white shirt and pants that cling to his buttocks nicely. Okay I lied, there are no butt pictures but there are crotch pictures and I prefer those any day. Okay so the pants are baggy but this man does no wrong in my books.

He and a friend are seen leaving Little Dom's restaurant in Los Feliz, California which to me means an update to my Stalking Patrick Dempsey portfolio.

Demi Moore Announces End of Marriage to Ashton Kutcher

Are Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Over?

While you have probably already heard this by now, and it really comes as no surprise, Demi Moore has announced the end of her marriage to Ashton Kutcher:

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,"

"This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

It seems she is probably alluding to the affair Ashton allegedly had with Sara Leal. He later tweeted:

"I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail"

Personally I think raising a child has got to be the most difficult (and important) thing in the world but you can't quit that can you? But marriage is difficult no matter how strong a union is (just saying, not judging at all). Men are totally from Mars, am I right? Ha! Kidding. Maybe.
