Pics from the set of Broken City with Mark Wahlberg!

Broken City is currently filming in Brooklyn with Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe. It’s about an ex-cop who’s trailing the wife of New York City's mayor and finds himself immersed in a larger scandal. Cops and Wahlberg seem to go together. Can’t wait to find out where Crowe fits in to the picture. Also pictured is costar Barry Pepper.

Filming just got underway and they’ll be in Brooklyn for a few weeks before moving the production down to New Orleans. I have no idea if that’s because the story calls for it or because they want to keep filming during the winter and that city can double for New York.

The rest of the cast includes Alona Tal, Natalie Martinez (Death Race, “Detroit 1-8-7”) and Catherine Zeta Jones (who is racking up the credits now that hubby’s on the mend). I’m assuming she’s the mayor’s wife. Directed by Allen Hughes (One half of The Hughes Brothers responsible for The Book of Eli, From Hell, Dead Presidents), Broken City already has a release date of January 13, 2013.

Watch This: Trailer for The Lorax from Down Under!

It is Here! It is Here! TheTrailer for The Lorax!

For some reason the Australian trailer for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax has a lot more of the story in it. A lot more. It still manages to not give much away, but it seems to setup the story in a much more enticing way for those who, sadly, do not know the Dr. Seuss book upon which it's based.  It also doesn’t waste time with the silly romantic sub-plot like the US version.  We get more of the Once-ler and this time I get more of Ed Helms in his voice.

Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is the tale of a 12-year-old boy (Ted, voiced by Zac Efron) who searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax (voiced by Danny DeVito), the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. It’s directed by Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda who brought us Despicable Me which was better than I thought it would be, but not as good as it could have been (for whatever that’s worth).

Being an appreciator of all things Seuss-ian, I’m looking forward to Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, which lands in 3D (of course) on March 2, 2012. I look forward to more goodies from Universal between now and then.

Robert Pattinson Hits David Letterman (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

Robert Pattinson Hits David Letterman (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

Robert Pattinson looks delicious as he appears on the David Letterman show promoting Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. David told Robert that people have been lining up all day and going crazy. Robert admitted that New Yorkers have dirty mouths (I really didn't think he could hear me but clearly he got my message booyah).

And while he admits there are lots of crazed teenage girls he says that the far more passionate fans are the older ones. His reason for getting into acting? Girls.  I love him. I love him deeply and with great passion hehe.

BREAKING: Rapper Heavy D Dies At Age 44

BREAKING: Rapper Heavy D Dies At Age 44

Rapper Heavy D died about 1 p.m. today after he was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital. Real name Dwight Arrington Myers, Heavy D was one of the most prominent rap artists of the 90's and was also responsible for  the theme song from the television show 'In Living Color'.

Originally he was found unconscious in the hallway of his home, but once paramedics arrived (around 11:25 a.m.) he was apparently conscious and talking but later died at hospital.

He has a daughter by the name of Xea. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends at this time.

…story developing.

UK Trailer for We Bought A Zoo!

Trailer for We Bought A Zoo with Matt Damon!

It’s been almost two months since we saw the US trailer for Cameron Crowe's We Bought a Zoo and I’d say the first half of this one for the UK market is the same. The second half does give us some new material (although if you’ve been to an AMC theater lately, you’ll have seen it in their “First Look” series.  A new phenomenon I think, but not exclusive to this movie.) The premise of We Bought a Zoo is this: Single dad Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon), in a desire to change his life and improve the lives of his children, moves his family to a rural part of Southern California to renovate and re-open a struggling zoo. Scarlett Johansson plays his fledgling zookeeper and from what little we see here, it looks like they'll have some sweet chemistry.

After films like Jerry Maguire and Say Anything, if there's one thing you can count on with a  Cameron Crowe film, it's heart. I think that given the grin I was sporting while watching this trailer, we can count on it here too. I think that Thomas Haden Church probably sums it up when he says "I like the animals, but I love the people."

Damon, Johansson and HadenChurch star with Elle Fanning, John Michael Higgins, Angus Macfadyen (yum!), Peter Riegert and Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous).  We Bought A Zoo opens on December 23 in the US, Canada and the UK
