Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner Have a Train to Catch!

Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner Have a Train to Catch!

Paramount Pictures has released a new clip from Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol called, “Getting On a Train”, in which Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner try to, appropriately enough, get on a train…while it’s moving.

I'm not sure why Tom Cruise still feels like he has so much to prove, but it is amazing to me that not only is he still doing his own stunts, but he keeps trying to top himself in terms of how complicated they are and how dangerous they look. Jeremy Renner's character, Brandt was written specifically so that Renner could take over the franchise from Cruise…someday. Who knows when that will be. If it  depends on how successful MI4 becomes, then it won’t be anytime soon. This thing is only currently playing on a limited number of IMAX screens and is already considered a hit.

The film is directed by Brad Bird, known primarily for The Iron Giant, The Incredibles  and Ratatouille, in his live action debut. The plot of this one see the IMF shut down when it's implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, causing Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his new team to 'go rogue' to clear their organization's name.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is now open in IMAX theaters before its wide release December 21. Along with Cruise and Renner it stars another great international cast including, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Tom Wilkinson, Anil Kapoor, Josh Holloway, Lea Seydoux, Michael Nyqvist and Vladimir Mashkov.

SNL: Jimmy Fallon & Michael Buble ‘Duets’ Skit HILARIOUS

SNL: Jimmy Fallon & Michael Buble 'Duets' Skit HILARIOUS

Jimmy Fallon was back home where it all began at the SNL studios last night when he hosted Saturday Night Live with musical guest Michael Buble. By far it was the best SNL of the entire season! Not only was it because of the host and guest but the skits were hilarious and it saw former SNL alumni Rachel Dratch, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Chris Kattan,Tracy Morgan, Horatio Sanchez in skits but Jude Law even made an appearance.

In this particular skit Michael Buble is doing duets with a bunch of celebrities that Jimmy Fallon is imitating: Justin Bieber, Russell Brand and other cast members do some incredible impressions: MIA, Taylor Swift, Ke$ha and more but my favorite had to be Lady GaGa (oh and Russell Brand of course).

Check it out and enjoy!

Two New Kick Ass TV Spots for John Carter!

A New Poster for John Carter!

John Carter palooza continues to roll. (Can they keep this up for three more months?) Today we have two new tv spots for the sci-fi extravaganza starring Taylor Kitsch. They’re short, but I have to say they’re exciting.  Love that the first one has a variation of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” playing underneath it. (Apparently they learned a thing or two from the first trailer for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo – namely old-school rock anthems get the blood pumping! Or I could be making that up.)

In any case, I think these two spots do a good job of setting the scene and (hopefully) piquing the public’s interest. I’m sure there are more members of the ticket buying public out there that have not read the Edgar Rice Burroughs books than have and if they know Burroughs at all it’s because of Tarzan. I’m sure, though, that there’s a whole contingent of Tim Riggins fans who will want to see Taylor Kitsch in his first big-screen starring role, so best to keep him front and center and shirtless.

John Carter (of Mars) stars Lynn Collins, Mark Strong, Willem Dafoe, Dominic West, Polly Walker, James Purefoy, Ciaran Hinds and Thomas Haden Church and opens March 9 everywhere.

Great Pics of Frankenweenie in Progress!

Great Pics of Frankenweenie in Progress!

We have some great new pics of the artisans in Tim Burton's studio working on his re-imagining of his 1984 short film Frankenweenie. Stop-motion fascinates me. The painstaking attention to detail, not to mention the patience required, must be astounding. The results, at least in the hands of Tim Burton (to be fair Aardman Studios is brills at it as well), usually are. Check out the pics below.

As I said before, when I heard that Burton was not only remaking his own (brilliant) film, but stretching it into a full length feature, I had to wonder why he'd want to mess with perfection?

Well, according to Producer Allison Abate who spoke with ShockTilYouDrop during a set-visit:

“Tim always wanted to make it into a feature and into an animated feature. We had to open the story up a little bit. Pretty much, the whole first act is like the short. We meet Victor and his beloved dog, Sparky. There’s a terrible car accident tragedy and the dog gets killed. Of course Victor, being a clever guy, figures out how to reincarnate him. Where the story diverges is that Victor is now desperate to keep his dog a secret. He doesn’t really know if what he’s done is a great thing. He doesn’t tell his parents and he doesn’t tell his school friends… Of course, the other kids at school get wind of it and kind of want in.”

Apparently this time there will be more than just Victor’s dog Sparky get the ‘reanimation’ treatment. Victor’s friends are all based on icons of classic horror films and each creates their own ‘monster’. In the pics, we can see sketches that point to everything from mummified hamsters to turtles with scales that resemble Japanese movie monster Gamera. Now that sounds funny. A reanimated turtle. How can you tell?

The really good news about any of this, for me, is that Frankenweenie reunites Burton with Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, Catherine O'Hara, Jeffrey Jones (I thought he was in jail?), and the late Glenn Shadix, who all appeared in Beetlejuice. This is actually Burton's third collaboration with Ryder, who also starred alongside Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands. Of course, since Frankenweenie is stop-motion animation (the original short was live-action) like that seen in A Nightmare Before Christmas, only their voices will be featured, including the voice of another Burton alum, Martin Landau.

Frankenweenie, which will be the second of two Burton films for 2012, after Dark Shadows opens in May, comes to theaters October 5.

Justin Bieber Joins Drake On Stage For ‘Trust Issues’ VIDEO

Justin Bieber Joins Drake On Stage For 'Trust Issues' VIDEO

Canadian BFF's Drake and Justin Bieber shared the stage on Friday night during Drake's Cali Christmas concert where the two sang Trust Issues. Is it me or is Justin becoming a really really good singer? That's not to hate on him, it's just I picture him more of a pop type of singer and I think he pulled this song of really well.

When Drake brought him out he introduced him with:

“Please welcome my brother to the stage,” “I’ve known that kid for a long time. One of the most talented musicians I know,” he added. “I brought Justin Bieber out to do some gangsta shit.”

I just wish Justin would hoist up his freaking pants, that's all.

Check out the video and let us know what you think.
