Another Creepy New Poster and Stills from The Woman in Black!

Another Creepy New Poster and Stills from The Woman in Black!

We’ve been talking about James Watkins' ghost story, The Woman in Black with Daniel Radcliffe since late August. I’m ready to see this classic Victorian gothic spook-fest already! Actually, it’s only a little over a month away now. We’ve seen a definite uptick in material released to promote it lately, including new trailers and tv spots.

Today we have another new poster and a few new stills. The poster makes more use of the tagline "What did they see", using images similar to the last poster – like those creepy kids with the scatched-out eyes – as well as reinforcing the eerie tone of the whole thing. I’m excited about the stills because they, much like the last trailer, give us a bit more of Ciaran Hinds.

Radcliffe stars as Arthur Kipps who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.

The Woman in Black, written by Jane Goldman (StardustKick-Ass and X-Men: First Class) also stars Janet McTeer (a recent SAG, Independent Spirit and Golden Globe nominee for Albert Nobbs) and Roger Allam, begins haunting theaters in the US on February 3 and in the UK on 10th February.

First Look at Matthew McConaughey and a Pole…er…in Magic Mike

First Look at Matthew McConaughey and a Pole...er...in Magic Mike

Here’s Matthew “I’m Too Sexy For My Shirt” McConaughey just back from a USO tour of the Middle East…yeah right. No, it’s your first look at Steven Soderbergh’s stripper movie, Magic Mike. That’s Matty in the hat with the erm…staff…I mean wand…I mean baton…yeah that’s it. And of course that’s Channing Tatum-tot in the front right, returning to his roots (since he started as an ‘exotic’ dancer before hitting the big time in the movies. He’s also one of the producers of the film). Also pictured is Joe Manganiello left rear.

The official synopsis:

Set in the world of male strippers, Magic Mike is directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars Channing Tatum (Dear John, Step Up) in a story inspired by his real life. The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.

Magic Mike also stars Matt Boemer, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Olivia Munn (taking Jessica Biel’s hand-me-downs) and Riley Keough and hits theaters in the US on June 29th  (the same day as Tatum’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation).

New Image of Deja Thoris + New International Trailer for John Carter!

A New Poster for John Carter!

We have a new international trailer for Disney Pixar’s John Carter to share. While the other trailers and clips we’ve seen have avoided the details of how Civil War soldier John Carter (Taylor Kitsch) actually gets to Mars, (there were glimpses of him on Earth, but no real details, which I'm still fine with), the new Japanese trailer shows a bit more of Carter’s back story, and of the moments in which he’s transported to another planet. All in all, I have high hopes for Andrew Stanton‘s (Wall-E, Finding Nemo) adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel “A Princess of Mars”, which is his live-action debut, especially after having seen the first film by another director known for animation, Brad Bird’s Mission:Impossible – Ghost Protocol. The success of one doesn’t necessarily mean the success of the other, but I’m hopeful anyway.

We also have a new image (via ComicBookMovie) of the beautiful Lynn Collins as Deja Thoris, the princess of the book’s title.

Once again, the official synopsis:

“From Academy Award(R)-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter”–a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.”

John Carter stars Kitsch, Collins, Dafoe, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston and Thomas Hayden Church and opens March 9th.

A Crimble Pressie from Peter Jackson! The Hobbit Prod. Diary #5!

New Poster, Images and Of Course, the First Teaser Trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey!

Peter Jackson’s enthusiasm for the process of making movies is not only obvious, but contagious. He’s already shared so much of the behind-the-scenes making of his newest adaptation of a J.R.R. Tolkein book, The Hobbit, and now he’s given us another, just in time for Christmas.  Production Diary #5 takes us inside the process of moving this massive production from the studio to location shooting. We get glimpses of the incredibly beautiful New Zealand landscape and the areas that will be transformed into “Hobbiton” in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, as well as its sequel The Hobbit: There and Back Again.

We also hear from some of the members of the crew as well as cast members Andy Serkis and Elijah Wood (He’s gone from age 19 to 30 while working on the Lord of the Rings films!) and see the dwarves and Sir Ian McKellan in costume. Mostly, though, it’s just a joy to listen to director Jackson talk about the making of his film.

Enjoy the video! The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey starring Wood, McKellan, Serkis, Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Richard Armitage, Hugo Weaving, Luke Evans, Orlando Bloom, Stephen Fry, Christopher Lee, Benedict Cumberbatch…to name but a few, come to theaters December 14, 2012.

Merry Christmas to ME! Clive Owen Covers Vogue Spain!

Merry Christmas to ME! Clive Owen Covers Vogue Spain!

The unutterably delicious Clive Owen is this month’s cover boy for Vogue Spain.  The mag put him together with model Toni Garn (who we last saw paired with Adrien Brody for that Carl Zeiss AG shoot), for what is obviously supposed to be a love affair or at least a tryst, set in Paris. (Why Paris? Why not Barcelona or Madrid, eh Vogue SPAIN?)

Last week we told you that Owen was reportedly in talks to reteam with his Inside Man director, Spike Lee, for Lee’s remake of Korean thriller, Old Boy. While it’s still all over the interwebz, including the news that a role has also supposedly been offered to Mia Wasikowska, there has still been nothing confirmed by Lee’s reps or any of the production companies involved.

In other Clive Owen news, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s (28 Weeks Later) Intruders has gotten a release date. Millennium Films will give the scarefest a limited release on March 30. We showed you the poster for the Italian release. You can see it again below.

And to tide you over until March, you can get your CO-fix with the dvd/blu-ray release of Killer Elite, which comes with a side of Jason Statham and Robert DeNiro, on January 10. (More on that later.)   Enjoy the pics of Clive in Paris!

Drake Is PISSED At Fan’s Forehead Tattoo VIDEO

Drake Is PISSED At Fan's Forehead Tattoo

Canadian rapper Drake was pretty pissed when he saw a photo of a fan that got a tattoo on her forehead with his name on it. While he's not happy about it, he has kind words to the super fan:

“I want to talk to this girl and understand it. It’s love, it’s surreal. I don’t even want to look at it anymore.”

Of course he's going to have that reaction to the fan, why wouldn't he? But to the tattoo artist that did it, he is PISSED:

“The guy who tatted it is a fu**ing asshole,” he told Power 106’s Mando Fresko. “I don’t f**k with that guy. F**k you to that tat artist, by the way ’cause you’re an asshole for real and you should lose your job. You should never do tattoos again. I don’t f**k with you and if I ever see you, I’ma f**k you up.”

I don't speak rap, so maybe someone can enlighten this biatch as to why he's pissed with the tattoo artist? Is it because the artist should have refused to do that to a girl? Is it a branding/copyright thing? I don't get it.
