An understandably somber Blake Shelton thanked his fans via Twitter for their love, support and prayers at the passing of his beloved father. He also paid respect to his father telling his fans that his father was a hardworking man that put family first and raised 5 children 2 of which were biological:

Dick Shelton's health had been deteriorating and he passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Blake has rescheduled tour dates as has his wife Miranda Lambert. She also took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Blake, Miranda and their families at this difficult time.
