A new red-band trailer for Joe Carnahan’s The Grey has just dropped and it amps up the tension and the fear about 1000% from the green band version with the tinkling piano music playing underneath it that we’ve been watching since summer. It’s red-band for some language (quite a few F-bombs) and some gore but it looks more like what you’d expect from a group of men lost in the wilderness facing a pack of hungry wolves.

Does that rock or what?!  Frankly, that’s just what I needed as an antidote to those craptastic Oscar nominations.  I needed to be slapped back to the reality that there are films made without the expectation of awards, but for the pure enjoyment of moviegoers, made by people who work just as hard and are just as talented as those that get recognized for their achievements.  Bottom line, I love the movies. And I’m definitely seeing this one this weekend.
