Rihanna Is Sexy & Sultry For Armani

Rihanna Is Sexy & Sultry For Armani

Rihanna looks gorgeous for these latest round of photos for her Armani campaign that sees her in lingerie posing seductively as well as a pair of jeans that accentuate her lovely figure.

Is it me or does she look SO young. One never knows if these photos are 'shopped' or would it be more accurate to say they are shopped, but to what degree? Either way she's stunning in these campaign photos. And her hair is perfection.

Rihanna is taking some time to cool her jets in Hawaii and has been seen smoking what looks like a joint. I'm guessing it's a homemade-rolled cigarette. Ha! I'm totally kidding.

Dancing With The Stars J.R. Martinez Lands Book Deal

Dancing With The Stars J.R. Martinez Lands Book Deal

U.S. Army Veteran, soap opera actor and Season 13 winner of Dancing With The Stars' J.R. Martinez has landed a book deal. He apparently sold a memoir to Christine Pride at Hyperion. The book will be released in the Fall of 2012 and you can expect “triumphing over extraordinary obstacles through pure resilience'.

Martinez suffered major burns to his body when his Humvee drove over a land mine in Iraq. And while most people would lose hope having to deal with the recovery and disfiguration from the tragic accident, Martinez proved on DWTS that his outlook is every reason he is successful. His positivity was contagious!

Congratulations to all of the great things happening for him.

Happy 90th Birthday Betty White!

Happy 90th Birthday Betty White!

The most beloved lady in America and quite possibly the world is celebrating her 90th birthday today. Who other than Betty White could we be talking about?

With a career that started a couple a few months after high school graduation in 1939 it has seen her blaze trails in memorable roles such as the frisky Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She went on to play Rose Nylund of The Golden Girls, Catherine Piper on Boston Legal, and most recently Elka Ostrovsky the alleged pot-smoking senior in Hot in Cleveland. Those are just four roles of the she has played from 1939 to now with there being far too many to mention.

When not starring in television sitcoms, she was the queen of the game shows where she met husband number three Allen Ludden who was the love of her life. They married June 14, 1963 and were married until his death on June 9, 1981. She has stayed single yet and devoted her life to her love of animals.

In 1988 she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame beside her beloved husband Allen Ludden.

At 90 her career is busier than ever and the demand for her is not slowing down. Last night her Hollywood friends and former colleagues paid tribute to her with a birthday celebration on NBC that was followed up with her latest project ‘Off Their Rockers’, a hidden-camera show that sees seniors prank the younger generation. Betty is an executive producer for this hysterical show.

In 2010 she set precedent on Saturday Night Live as being the oldest host ever. This year she inked a deal to write two books for G.P. Putnam Sons to add to the two she has already written.

When Amy Poehler paid tribute to her on her Birthday Special she remarked how after a 15 hour rehearsal day she still had more energy than the entire cast. It is mind-boggling to think about her career and how it is hotter than ever. AT 90!!!!! And beyond that she is so very sweet and her love of animals is legend. She's the perfect naughty grandma, although she's never had kids of her own.

Okay I realize this reads a bit like an obituary but it is not. She is so remarkable and this is a celebration of her incredible life. But she has to live forever, okay?

We LOVE you Betty White and we wish you a very Happy Birthday and can’t wait to see what the next 10 years in your career brings!

BAFTA Nominations Are Out! We Have the Complete List!

BAFTA Nominations Are Out! We Have the Complete List!

The nominations are out for the 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards. They were announced today by Daniel Radcliffe and Holliday Grainger at BAFTA's headquarters in London. I have to say I like these a lot better than most of the lists I’ve seen so far. While there are omissions I’d have liked, and most of the usual suspects are all accounted for, there are some inclusions missing from say, The Golden Globes or Screen Actors Guild or even the ACE nominations.

The Artist received 12 nominations. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is nominated in 11 categories, Hugo has nine nominations, My Week with Marilyn has six nominations and The Help and War Horse are each nominated five times.

Drive, The Iron Lady and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 have four nominations. The Descendants, Moneyball, Senna and We Need to Talk about Kevin all have three nominations apiece and Shame, The Ides of March, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Bridesmaids, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn each received two.

Certainly there are omissions from what I'd have liked to have seen, but since they didn't make the long list (Vanessa Redgrave for Coriolanus for example) I knew they wouldn't make the short list.

The ceremony will take place Sunday 12 February at the Royal Opera House and will be hosted by Stephen Fry, to broadcast exclusively on BBC One (and BBCAmerica, although we don't get it live and we don't get the red carpet coverage. But beggars can't be choosers)

Preview and Poster for the Return of The Walking Dead!

Preview and Poster for the Return of The Walking Dead!

When AMC originally announced that it was dividing up the season for their hit zombie show, The Walking Dead, I wasn’t happy. Now that Hell on Wheels has ended until lord who knows when, (it is coming back for a second season but no air date has been announced. Damn you Cullen Bohannon *shakes fist*), not to mention the exceptionally cool, Golden Globe winning Homeland is over for their season and The Killing, Game of Thrones and The Borgias aren’t back yet, I need something to watch on Sunday night! It’s feast or famine! (I’ve dvr’d Downton Abbey, which only has one more week, like a squirrel storing nuts)

In any case, AMC has just released a little teaser clip for the first episode of season 2.5. It looks like Rick and Hershel have ventured away from the Greene farm and have encountered some new people. Why do I just know they’re going to be a**holes?

The Walking Dead returns on February 12 (Happy Birthday to me!). Enjoy the short tease. I’m sure there will be more.

Behind the Scenes of Haywire Incl. that Fassbender Fight!

Behind the Scenes of Haywire Incl. that Fassbender Fight!

Your daily Fassbender, doesn’t unfortunately include and ‘golf’ *cough* shots, but it does include a new image from Haywire plus  footage of that fight that we’ve been seeing in all of the clips and trailers for the film. You know the one, where former MMA fighter Gina Carano, who plays Mallory Kane, beats the living crap out of Michael Fassbender’s Paul. At least we can see how it was done so we know no Fassys were hurt in the process.

Haywire, an action thriller about a black ops soldier seeking revenge after being compromised during a mission, stars Carano, Fassbender, Ewan “My Heart is in the Highlands” McGregor *, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas and Bill Paxton. Steven Soderbergh ("Traffic") directed. It finally opens for all the world to see this Friday January 20. See it or Gina Carano will find you and kick your ass.

*another Golden Globes reference. I’ll forever hear McGregor’s name that way after hearing Christopher Plummer say it.

New Images, Posters and a Clip from W.E.

New Images, Posters and a Clip from W.E.

I’m one of those that sees conspiracy around every corner so it’s not a stretch for me to think that it is no coincidence that Optimum Releasing and The Weinstein Company have dropped a new clip from Madonna’s now Golden Globe winning film, W.E. the day after the film picked up an award. Of course the Globe was for Best Original Song, but don’t get me started on that. (Whatever Harvey wants, Harvey gets. Everyone knows that, including Meryl Streep.)

The clip is simple, a dance scene in which Andrea Riseborough’s Wallis Simpson begins the dance in the arms of her current husband, Ernest Simpson (David Harbour) and ends it in the arms of her future husband, James D’Arcy as Edward, then still the Prince of Wales. There is no doubt this film will be visually stunning. The period costumes have already been the subject of a Vogue pictorial and Riseborough looks more completely like Wallis Simpson than any actress who has played her before.

What remains to be seen is whether or not the thing comes together as a film with a cohesive narrative. It’s ambitious with two main story lines taking place in different decades with essentially two casts. Abbie Cornish and Oscar Isaac play the contemporary pair. Of course, Cornish hasn’t been seen since TIFF in connection with the film. Does Madge feud with everyone?

Enjoy the clip and the new pics and posters. W.E. opens this Friday, 20th January in the UK an February 3 in the US.

Images from Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close Opening Friday

Images from Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close Opening Friday

One of the many films opening this weekend on January 20, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close will probably require the most Kleenex. It’s an adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer’s novel about a ten year-old who is an amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist who searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Focusing on the sensitive, intelligent Oskar (Thomas Horn), a boy brimming with anxieties, phobias, an extravagant vocabulary and possibly Asperger’s syndrome (which is in the autism spectrum), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close deals with the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. When his father (Tom Hanks) is killed, he becomes obsessed with figuring out what a key belonging to his dad opens, as his search brings him into contact with people around the city. Sandra Bullock plays Oskar’s mother and Stephen Daldry (The Hours, Billy Elliot) directs from a script by Eric Roth. The film also stars Jeffrey Wright, Viola Davis, Max Von Sydow and John Goodman.

It opens January 20 in the US and Canada and 17th February in the UK
