Tom Hardy Ruins Chris Pine’s PG-13 Rated Date: New Clip for This Means War

I bring you your daily Tom Hardy with the news that This Means War has once again gotten a new rating. The MPAA has restored the treasured and zealously sought-after PG-13 to the film after a few of Chelsea Handler’s sex-themed jokes were ‘trimmed’. (While I’m quite sure that will piss off Ms. Handler, I’ve seen her new sitcom and frankly, it seems like a fitting punishment.) I can’t imagine that these jokes made that much difference to the whole of the movie, so I don’t think it will suffer too badly (just a guess), but the idea that a few words are what we need to shield those under the age of 17 from while we are free to show them explosions, guns and general violent mayhem, not to mention two grown men behaving like idiotic bullies who throw friendship out the window all the while wasting government resources in their quest to get what they want and that’s acceptable. Yes, I know I’m being literal. I realize it’s a movie and it’s supposed to be funny. I’m not trying to spoil the fun, just trying to make a point.
Moving on, we have a clip wherein Chris Pine lies about knowing anything about the works of Gustav Klimt and Tom Hardy attempts to foil the plan. Comedic hijinks are sure to ensue. Seriously, I do think this looks funny. I like that it’s not obvious from any of these clips or trailers which one of the two Reese Witherspoon ends up with. (Of course I know which one I’m rooting for.)
There's also a new international trailer with a little bit of footage we haven't seen before. I really am going to have to see this if for no other reason than to find out who gets the girl.
This Means War is still opening on February 14 as of this writing, but we’ll keep you abreast of any more changes to schedule or rating. Now can we get a decent poster?
