It's classical night on Dancing With The Stars in this 7th week of the competition for Season 14. What better way to start the evening than with the opera singer?
Tonight we are seeing another team dance that combines the scores with their solo performances. The rehearsals for the team dances looked BRUTAL. Everyone seemed to be getting agitated and by everyone I mean Derek and Mark. Team Tango which consisted of Maria, Katherine, Roshon and Jaleel was INCREDIBLE. The choreography was outstanding. Len wasn't happy which makes zero sense because it really was amazing to watch. Scores: 10/8/9 = 27/30 (these are added to the individual dances below for a total out of 60).
Team Paso consisted of William Levy, Donald Driver, and Melissa. There was pressure for the guys to take their shirts off and William didn't want to at all because he wants to be taken seriously which is kind of hot although hugely disappointing. While I didn't care for the dancing as much as Team Tango the taking off of the shirts really made it worth while. Scores: 9/8/9 = 26/30.
Keep refreshing because we will be recapping live with commentary and scores.
Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas – Rumba – They are dancing to a piece of music that man a bride has walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon D which is such a beautiful piece of music. You know what else is beautiful? Mark is shirtless. I'm always super excited to see these two dance but tonight they have a special challenge of dancing a rumba to classical music but so far it is perfection. But what else do you expect from these two? Did they get all smoochey face at at the end? Scores: 9/9/9 = 27/30 + 27/30 = 54/60.
Melissa Gilbert & Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Argentine Tango – Tonight it's Maks' turn to be injured with a stress fracture on his foot. Melissa had both brothers in rehearsals this week and as Maks admits his brother Val is much nicer. He was wincing at the way maks was talking to her. I don't find her moves very graceful or elegant and if she gets anywhere near the same score as Katherine I'm going to have a huge hissy fit. Scores: 7/7/7 = 21/30 + 26/30 = 47/60.
William Levy& Cheryl Burke – Viennese Waltz – He suffered an injury earlier so let's hope he can get through this dance. Cheryl promised enough elements to keep Len happy for this dance and I'm hoping they delivered. Their lines looked very beautiful and elegant? How incredible to dance to Jackie Evancho singing opera. They made Len happy so that is great news. Scores: 9/9/9 = 27/30 + 26/30 = 53/60.
Roshon Fagan & Chelsie Hightower- Argentine Tango – He's such a great kid and sometimes feels out of his element so he turned to Val Chmerkovskiy to be less feminine and 'lead'. He continues to impress and works incredibly hard each and every week. If you compare this dance to Melissa's it's entirely different although perhaps it's not exactly fair to compare her to a professional but you can't compare the two. It seems that Chelsie had a wardrobe malfunction of sorts because during their dance the camera went to the DWTS logo. I can't find anything which I'm actually happy about because she seems young and I would hate for that stuff to be out there on her. Scores: 9/8/8 – 25/30 + 27/30 = 52/60.
Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd – Viennese Waltz – Last week he was told he could do even more complicated routines so Peta is challenging him this week. I love their costumes! They look so regal and their form is outstanding They really embody a Viennese waltz. Will it be up to the judge's standards? They are watching him closely to really bring more to his game. His kids are so cute and they are so happy to see daddy dancing. Scores: 9/9/9 = 27/30 + 27/30 = 54/60.
Maria Menounos & Derek Hough – Paso Doble – Rehearsals looked brutal this week as the heat is on. They usually joke around, but not this week. She's been amazing despite being so injured this season. That was PERFECTION. Maria was totally in her element with this dance. The characters were amazing, the lines were perfect, the outfits were perfect. I couldn't take my eyes off of these two. I hope they get 10's. Scores: 10/10/10 = 30/30 + 27/30 = 57/60.
Jaleel White & Kym Johnson – Viennese Waltz – It's always a pleasure to watch Kym because she is incredible and I have to say she has one of the loveliest figures. I don't know what it is but Jaleel came across in his rehearsal package as a bit arrogant especially when he mentioned at this point in the competition to question her. She IS the professional so unless you've been trained as much as her, who are you to question her, you know? That's like her questioning him in acting. I don`t think I`m exactly being objective with him because I've never warmed up to him. I don't think this was his best dance at all. Scores: 8/8/8 = 24/30 + 27/30 = 51/60.
