Tom Cruise is about to turn the big 5-0.  Well, in a year.  This weekend he turned 49 and his young wife Katie Holmes threw him a surprise birthday party in Miami at the fabulous Soho House.  Suri was of course there along with Tom’s kids Isabella and Connor.

Katie invited 40 guests, who enjoyed  Italian cuisine and a delicious chocolate cake for dessert, the New York Post is reporting.

I think it’s sweet that Katie is still playing the doting wife.  I just wonder how real any of this really is?

Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo - The 137th Annual Kentucky Derby

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are going to be broadcasting their wedding on TLC.  The date is a big secret, but it’s happening very, very soon.  After the I do’s happen, let the baby-making begin!  These two lovebirds aren’t going to waste any time starting a family.  They’ve had plenty of alone time and it’s time to get their family jump-started.

“We definitely want to do together and do it sooner rather than later,” Lachey says of having kids. “I’ll be 38 this year, so it’s one of those things that I’m certainly behind the eight-ball on.  Not that getting married was the means to an end to have kids,” he continues, “but it certainly was the next step in the process that leads us to ultimately having a great family together.”

I can hardly wait to see this wedding.   It’s going to be so glamorous, but all class.  I know she’s going to make a perfect bride.

No, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries aren’t designing their wedding rings.  But they are flipping through the Bible to find meaningful passages to have inscribed on their wedding bands.  I had no idea these two were remotely religious?  But apparently Kim already has a verse inscribed on her engagement ring.

Brooke Mueller Celebrities depart Il Cielo in Beverly Hills

Brooke Mueller has finished rehab again and this time, it’s going to stick.  After pleading for help on The World According to Paris, she got the help she needed, she asked in a very public way, and that fact is going to keep her on the wagon.

“Brooke is just taking it a day at a time,” a friend told Radar. “She has been down this road before and she knows what she has to do. Brooke needs to continue to play an active role in her sobriety. When she goes to her AA meetings everyday and talks regularly with her sponsor, she does amazing.”

“Brooke does still have temptations, she will for the rest of her life,” the source continued. “But, that incident was dealt with, and Brooke continues to make progress. There will be setbacks, but it’s going to be how Brooke handles it which will determine whether or not she stays sober.”

I have actually been enjoying watching and getting to know Brooke on the show.  I wish the best for her.  She’s been through a lot, made a lot of dumb decisions, but she’s human and she’s a mom.  I want to see her “win” and be the best mom and person she can.

Will.I.Am is seen outside Buddha Bar

Or fired out.  Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am was escorted out of the London Hilton on Park Lane yesterday when the 28-story building caught fire, and smoked out all of it’s prestigious guests. This is a very swanky hotel, near Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace.

Thankfully there were no injuries and everyone got out okay.  No word on the cause of the blaze either.

I wonder if we will hear a new song inspired by the haze?

DJ Pauly D Palms Casino Resort hosts The Official Retirement Party

Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D is currently facing a copyright infringement lawsuit priced at $4 million.  Ouch!  There’s this  Connecticut DJ whose stage name is ‘DJ Paulie’ and well, you get the picture.  This guys says he has been building his name in the biz for 40 years and DJ Pauly D has ruined him.  Geez dude, that’s kinda sad don’t you think?  You are an “older” DJ, whose been in the biz long enough you can’t hold your own?  And um, I am sorry, but I’ve never heard of you!

“[Lis] formally trademarked the name ‘DJ Paulie’ and then came the ‘Jersey Shore’ which basically wiped him off the face of the map,” attorney Jose M. Rojas said.

“The reality television show [follows] a group of young adults pursuing a debauched lifestyle suggestive of loose morals, violence, intoxication and liberal profanity — the exact opposite of the reputation the Plaintiff, ‘DJ Paulie’ that[sic] he had spent decades cultivating,” the lawsuit alleges.  Lis said that thanks to all the information about the reality star on the internet, it’s almost impossible to find his Connecticut DJ business. Even a cease-and-desist letter from Lis’ lawyers to MTV went unnoticed, he claims.

DJ Pauly D has been trying to trademark his name, but keeps getting denied. I wonder why??

You know what?  She’s pregnant and what marriage is perfect?  What married couple doesn’t get annoyed with each other and give each other a bit of space when it’s needed?!  I wish that the tabloids would lay off of their marriage.  It’s such old news now to pretend like they are falling apart and on their way to divorce every time they have a bad day.  If that were the case.  NO ONE would be married more than a week!

Please!  Get over it!
