Jason Bateman is currently starring in Horrible Bosses, making us laugh our asses off.  But he also has a serious side, believe it or not.

Jason has a past filled with coke and booze,

“He was on the road to self-destruction,” a source tells Star. Even after saying “I do” to Amanda Anka, daughter of famed singer Paul Anka, in 2001, Jason couldn’t clean up his act. Until his wife gave him an ultimatum: “Amanda threatened to leave if he didn’t get help,” says the source.  “It was a wake-up call for Jason. He realized that to keep his wife, he’d have to give up the drugs and booze.”

Jason committed to AA and has remained sober ever since.  Rock on!

“If it hadn’t been for Amanda, Jason may still be using,” the source says. Now, with daughter Francesca, 4, the couple is happier than ever. “They look like newlyweds,” reveals another source.  “Jason is one very proud and very happy family man.”

What a touching story.  I’ve always been a fan of Jason’s but I am more so now.  He’s a strong, inspirational guy.  Amazing, and  a great wife on top of it.  Kudos to you both!

Mike Boogie Opening of the Playboy Club

“Big Brother” champ Mike “Boogie” Malin just got the shaft big time by The Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas.   Boogie is one of the owners of a Dolce restaurant group called Rare 120°.  The place has been doing great since 2008.  Well a new owner took over Hard Rock and forced them out.  Like physically.

The lawsuit filed by Dolce in Nevada, the Hard Rock management sent a team to empty out all of the food in the kitchen on July 10 while the place was still in business, “leaving only a few remaining items on the menu to offer guests.”

Rare closed the doors the next day.  How sad is that?

They are suing for all the money lost. I think that must be a VERY large number.

This whole divorce seem doesn’t seem to be shaking Jennifer Lopez at all.  I think she’s quite content with the decision.  On The Fourth of July,  Jennifer and the kids spent the day at the beach in Malibu without daddy, Marc Anthony.

Ivanka Trump New York Premiere of 'Snow Flower and the Secret Fan'

Any mom who’s had a baby or is getting ready to understands that feeling.  Ivanka Trump is getting pregnancy cold feet. But one thing she has going for her, she looks stunning even on the very pregnant side.

With her daughter on the way imminently, Trump admits that she’s “trying not to think about” the labor.

“My breathing exercises are going to come in the form of screams and panic,” she jokes. “I have enough anxiety about the type of mother I’m going to be and the nuances of being a parent.”

“I haven’t focused too much on the actual delivery part, which is seriously terrifying,” adds Trump.

She will be so great.  I think she’s going to adapt quickly and you know she will have plenty of paid help.  She has nothing to worry about.  And for the labor… I say … go for the epidural!  As early as possible!

Cash Cab Death

A production car from the Canadian version of the game show “Cash Cab” was involved in a horrible accident in Vancouver yesterday that sadly killed a pedestrian, according to TMZ.

A producer for the show was driving the car, off duty when they struck a 61-year-old man.   He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital when he died.

Andrew Burnstein, who is the President of Castlewood Productions, told TMZ,

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his friends and his family. My heart also goes out to the driver of the vehicle, a member of our technical staff, who is shaken and devastated by this tragic accident, as is our entire team.”

No charges have been filed as of yet.  But I am sure that the victim’s family will be seeking legal action shortly.

How very, very sad.

Celine Dion The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on CBS

Grammy-winning singer, Celine Dion has been an idol of mine since I was in second grade.  I adore this woman.  She is such a busy, working mom these days, I admire her all the more.   She’s got her live Las Vegas show, new Celine Dion Signature fragrance (launching in September), and of course her 10-year-old son, Rene-Charles, and 9-month-old twin boys, Nelson and Eddy.  How does she do it?

ON CARING FOR HER TWINS:
“I have a lot of help that I didn’t think I needed. My sister Linda, who’s the godmother of my children, is like my children’s second mother. It’s pretty amazing, because she wanted to have 14 children and can’t have any. But she says, ‘Don’t feel bad. I can help you raise children. That’s what I was [put] here for.’”

ON THE KIND OF MOTHER SHE IS:
“What I’m most proud of is the mother I am. I’m good for cuddling, talking, listening. When I’m trying to get Rene-Charles to try or do something, I’m very, very patient.”

ON LOSING A CHILD:
“I was supposed to have triplets. I saw the three of them grow, but in a very early stage, though, one heart stopped beating. It was hard. I’ll always have a lot of love.”
