Friday’s Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Vanessa Hudgens, Christina Ricci & More

Ooh la la! Actress Vanessa Hudgens wows the crowd at the Paris premiere of her latest film, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in a mid-length strapless ivory Moschino number on February 12. This dress is quite a departure from what we're used to seeing Vanessa in. It has more of a sophisticated and elegant essence to it. Love the white-on-white silk embossed paisley design. Vanessa completed her look with metallic gold Giuseppe Zanotti leather sling backs, Samantha Wills jewels and opaque stockings.

Mamma mia! And no, we're not talking about the musical but rather, Elisabetta Canalis when she attended the opening night of the 62th Sanremo Song Festival at the Ariston Theatre in San Remo, Italy on February 14. Elisabetta struck a stunning silhouette sauntering down the stage steps in this white strapless gown featuring a front pick-up skirt followed by a train. While I'm not sure who the designer is, I'm guessing it's Roberto Cavalli. Absolutely gorgeous!

She may be petite, but actress Christina Ricci strikes one of the most memorable red carpet silhouettes that could give any supermodel a run for her money in this stunning black Jonathan Saunders Resort 2012 gown at the 2012 Elle Style Awards at the Savoy Hotel in London, UK on February 13. The gown features a satin bustier bodice with a sheer pleated overlay and just a hint of a train. The look says it all: sexy, sassy, and sophisticated. (Who needs a flight attendant's uniform?) And don't forget, Christina is currently starring in the film Bel Ami with hunky Robert Pattinson which opens in theatres today.

Great gams! Getting a leg-up on the competition at the 2012 Elle Style Awards in London on February 13 are British model and presenter Lisa Snowdon and British actress Laura Carmichael who both kept it short and sweet. Lisa Snowdon rocked it in a 60s-inspired pink pastel mini dress with just a hint of a flared skirt that even Twiggy would have approved of. Meanwhile, Laura Carmichael opted for a more updated mini frock cut in white silk satin with a bejewelled v-neck line, with both ladies completing the look with nude platform pumps. With legs like these, if you've got it, flaunt it!

No surprises here as Brazilian Victoria's Secret model Isabeli Fontana took home the Best Model award at the 2012 Elle Style Awards. But before doing so, Isabeli strutted down the red carpet in a figure-hugging pink pastel lace gown by Dolce & Gabbana, accessorizing her look with diamond stud earrings and silver clutch. But perhaps her best accessory no matter what she's wearing are her stunning blue eyes. Aren't they gorgeous?

It may be winter, but that didn't stop British model Poppy Delevigne from daring mother earth in a colourful English country-garden inspired mini frock by Mary Katranzou. (Ahh … I can smell the fresh cut grass now.) The supermodel gave the Mary Katranzou for Topshop collection its debut at the 2012 Elle Style Awards this past week. This is a new clothing line and if you love colour, and lots of it, I highly suggest that you check it out at www.ustopshop.com. Can you imagine a world full of people wearing this much colour? I can.

She may have kept it quiet and elegant, but actress Thandie Newton thundered on the red carpet at the 2012 Laureus World Sports Awards this past week in London, U.K. The actress was sleek and sophisticated in this Grecian-inspired one-shoulder creation by designer Osman. With just a trace of a gold belt, Roger Vivier clutch, Solange Azagury-Partridge tassel earrings, and sleek and glossy hair, Thandie kept her look sophisticated and trés chic. Less is definitely more!
That's it for another week happy people. I hope you enjoyed my picks! Be sure to return next Friday as I'll have even more great fashion!
Mark your calendars! Next Sunday, February 26 is the biggest red carpet event on the planet, the Academy Awards. And you do know what that means, right? So be sure to tune in on Monday morning for all my picks from the red carpet. Until then, have a great weekend and love and peace to you all.
