Mariska Hargitay & Christopher Meloni Get Hot & Bothered @ The Emmys

Mariska Hargitay & Christopher Meloni Get Hot & Bothered @ The Emmys

How I forgot to talk about Mariska Hargitay & Christopher Meloni at the 2010 Emmy Awards I’ll never know.  Or the fact that, yes I actually was surprised that Mariska didn’t win in the Best Actress category which I had forgotten about. Don’t ask. I get very little sleep and I can’t function very well without it.

More importantly than just these beautiful pictures is a very hot little interview on the red carpet in which they talk about whether or not their characters will hook up in the reportedly last season or not.  If I were in Mariska’s shoes I would not have shown so much restraint.  It’s hot.  Check out the video of the interview at  The Ausiello Files.

2010 Emmy After Party PHOTOS

2010 Emmy After Party PHOTOS

Forget why Robert Pattinson is at an Emmy after party in jeans.  Who the hell is he with? He did once say he likes older women (Tina Fey in particular, lucky bich) but is this really a date? Maybe it’s a publicist/manager type of person or his mom? Any of my viewers know who she is?

Also seen coming and going from parties:

2010 Emmy Awards Winners List & PHOTOS

2010 Emmy Awards Winners List & PHOTOS

I don’t know that there were any real surprises last night although personally I would have liked to see Friday Night Lights win something. That is a stellar show that is supposedly going off the air which is unbelievable to those of us who are addicted to the show.

Anyhoo…front and centre of course would be Mr. George Clooney because he’s Mr. George Clooney and also because he won the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award which was very well deserved.  In his speech he spoke of focusing our attention on those that really need it:

“It’s important to remember how much good can get done because we live in such strange times where bad behaviours suck up all the attention in the press and the people who really need the spotlight, the Haitians, the Sudanese, the people in the Gulf Coast… Pakistan, they can’t get any (press).”

Trying to bring a little levity to things, he added:

“I thought maybe there was a way to combine the two. I offered to go to the South Sudan and have a wardrobe malfunction, but it was pointed out to me that I’m 49 and it would just be upsetting and kind of sad.”

Actually no it wouldn’t, lol.

It was great to see Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory (another fabulous show) win Best Actor in a Comedy and of course Jane Lynch for Best Actress in a Comedy for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester in Glee.

Who were you hoping to win? Who were you excited to see win?

2010 Emmy Awards – Red Carpet PHOTOS

2010 Emmy Awards - Red Carpet PHOTOS

The 2010 Emmy Awards were held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last night where, to me, Maria Menounos looked absolutely gorgeous in her custom-made dress. What a sexy back!

Kelly Osbourne’s dress also was quite lovely but I have to wonder what January Jones and Anna Paquin were thinking. January Jones wore an Atelier Versace but I have to say the cone part for the breasts took the dress to a new level of stupid.  It would have been nice if she had put a brush through her hair before the event.  I kept looking for the bull in the crowd that Anna Paquin was dressed to fight. I’m sorry I don’t mean to be mean but there was just nothing redeeming about that dress.

Lots of your favourite stars posed on the red carpet:

and lots of others…..pictures after the break

Kelly Osbourne @ 2010 Emmy Awards Red Carpet

Kelly Osbourne looks gorgeous in her black dress. I love the styling of it and the girl is SO tiny! But most important she looks so healthy and happy!

I’ve got the red carpet show on TV and I haven’t seen Kelly on the television but it looks black in this picture although I think I read somewhere on the interwebs it was brown.

The 2010 Emmy Award Nominations

This morning, the 62nd Annual Emmy Award nominations were announced and it’s looking like one of the front-runner is Glee. The show picked up 19 nominations.  However that’s second place to The Pacific which earned 24 nominations. How many categories are there?

Mad Men (you must watch, you will become addicted, it’s about advertising agencies in the 60′s in New York) picked up 17 nominations, including Best Drama Series. Also in that category ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Lost’, ‘True Blood’, ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘Dexter’.

I’ve not watched The Pacific but I hear so many good things about it.  According to imdb it is:

A 10-part mini-series from the creators of “Band of Brothers” telling the intertwined stories of three Marines during America’s battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.

I watch so much TV I’m surprised I’m able to form sentences or interact with humans, so this award show is one of my all-time favourites. Do you love? Do you have a favourite award show?

Jimmy Fallon (he’s so adorable) will host the event which takes place in Los Angeles on August 29, 2010 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. A summary list of the nominations are after the break, but to see the entire list (and it’s very large) you can go to the Emmy website here.
