Amanda Seyfried Still not Gone But We Have New Pics & Clips!

We’ve got a big bunch o’ pics and some clips for Gone, a thriller written by Allison Burnette (Underworld Awakening) and toplined by Amanda Seyfried.  The wide-eyed Seyfried stars as Jill, a young woman who comes home from a night shift to discover her sister Molly (Emily Wickersham) has been abducted.  It was only the year before that Jill had escaped from a kidnapper. She is convinced that the same serial killer has come back for her sister. Afraid that Molly will be dead by sundown, Jill embarks on a heart-pounding chase to find the killer, expose his secrets and save her sister.

The whole thing just seems like a straight to video B-Movie. Not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with that… popcorn thrillers have their place in the annals of Friday date night couch fest history. I’m just still seeing parallels with Silence of the Lambs, not to mention any number of slasher/teen horror flicks. I’m also not convinced Seyfried can successfully carry a film. The presence of Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson couldn’t save Chloe, and neither could Gary Oldman or Julie Christie save Red Riding Hood.

The supporting cast does have some talented actors in it, including Wes Bentley (who needs to work more), Jennifer Carpenter, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Sunjata (Rescue Me), and Joel David Moore (Avatar). Gone is the English language debut of Brazilian director Heitor Dhalia (2009’s Adrift) and arrives in theaters  February 24 in the US and 2nd March the UK.

Sarah Jessica Parker as Gloria Steinem! More Pics from the Lovelace Set!

Sarah Jessica Parker as Gloria Steinem! More Pics from the Lovelace Set!

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve shared your first looks at Amanda Seyfried in Lovelace, the biopic about one of the first porn “superstars”, Linda Lovelace, and her dysfunctional relationship with her husband/manager Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard), who coerced her into the porn industry where she was used and abused before finally taking control of her life.

Academy Award winning documentarians Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (The Life and Times of Harvey MilkCommon Threads: Stories from the Quilt) direct Lovelace from a script by Merrit Johnson (Temple GrandinIn Treatment) and Andy Bellin (Trust), which was in turn based on Eric Danville's biography, "The Complete Linda Lovelace".   It’s got an insane cast including Sharon Stone, Hank Azaria, Eric Roberts, Wes Bentley, Juno Temple, Chris Noth, Chloe Sevigny, Debi Mazar and  Bobby Cannavale (recently signed for Season 3 of Boardwalk Empire!) with James Franco as Hugh Hefner and Adam Brody as porn legend Harry Reems. Demi Moore has dropped out (I guess they can’t plead “exhaustion” or “scheduling conflicts” this time since her bizarre meltdown has been some much in the news). She’s been replaced by Sarah Jessica Parker as Gloria Steinem. There are pics of SJP on set below and I have to say, I’m not feelin’ it. (Is it makeup or has she had major work done?)

Lovelace is still filming, but is slated for a release sometime this year. We’ll keep you posted. Below are more pics of Seyfried in full 70’s regalia (and her brown eyes) along with Juno Temple and a first glimpse of Franco as Hef.

Bow-Chicka-Bow-Bow…Amanda Seyfried on the Lovelace Set!

Bow-Chicka-Bow-Bow...Amanda Seyfried on the Lovelace Set!

Last week we shared your first glimpse of Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard in Lovelace, the biopic about one of the first porn “superstars”, Linda Lovelace, and her dysfunctional relationship with her husband/manager Chuck Traynor, who coerced her into the porn industry where she was used and abused before finally taking control of her life.

Below are some pics of Seyfried in full 70’s regalia. LOVE the velvet overalls and those platform wedges prove that what goes around comes around and everything old is new again. Gotta get used to seeing Seyfried’s HUGE blue eyes with brown contacts. It’ll probably look better on film, but it’s a little alien-like in these pics.

Poster and Pics for Gone with Amanda Seyfried!

Poster and Pics for Gone with Amanda Seyfried!

Amanda Seyfried headlines Gone, a thriller written by Allison Burnette (Underworld Awakening). I’m still undecided as to what I make of this. It seems to have quite a few things in common with Silence of the Lambs, not to mention any number of slasher/teen horror flicks. For that matter, I’m still undecided what to make of Seyfried. How long is she planning to get by on ‘wide-eyed innocence’?

“Jill Parrish (Seyfried) comes home from a night shift to discover her sister Molly (Emily Wickersham) has been abducted. Jill, who had escaped from a kidnapper a year before, is convinced that the same serial killer has come back for her sister. Afraid that Molly will be dead by sundown, Jill embarks on a heart-pounding chase to find the killer, expose his secrets and save her sister.”

The whole thing just seems like a straight to video B-Movie. Not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with that… While the supporting cast does have some talented actors in it, including Wes Bentley (who needs to work more), Jennifer Carpenter, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Sunjata ("Rescue Me"), and Joel David Moore (Avatar) , there aren’t any names that can open or carry a movie. I’m not sure Seyfried can either. She had the likes of Gary Oldman and Julie Christie behind her in Red Riding Hood (neither of whom were enough to save it) and In Time was Justin Timberlake’s movie, but here she’s the star. Gone is the English language debut of Brazilian director Heitor Dhalia (2009’s Adrift) and arrives in theaters  February 24 in the US and 2nd March the UK.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

I have got treats, lots and lots of treats, that I’ve been hoarding storing up for a rainy day…actually just haven’t been able to get to) Well, today’s the day. In this post I have new pics for Men in Black III, Prometheus, Lovelace, Snow White and the Huntsman and The Hunger Games

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Men in Black III: “Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.”

We also offer a first look at villain, Boris, played by Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement. The movie opens almost everywhere in the known universe on May 25.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Here’s are two new images from Sir Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, which leads them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. The pics show Noomi Rapace (who has described her character, Elizabeth Shaw, as the “Ripley” of the piece) in more detail as well as the “space jockeys” in the background.

Prometheus takes over theaters on 1st June in the UK and June 8 in the US and Canada.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

We have a first look at Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace in the biopic, Lovelace, about the porn star and her relationship with her abusive husband, Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard). James Franco plays Hugh Hefner. Lovelace has no set release date yet. More info to follow.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Charlize Theron looks appropriately regal and menacing in this new still from Rupert Sanders’ Snow White and the Huntsman. The darker version of the two Snow White tales, starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, opens June 1 almost everywhere.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Last, but not least, for this round are two new pics from The Hunger Games. We get new looks at Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence). Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match. The Hunger Games begin on March 23 in the US, Canada and the UK.

More to come!

Amanda Seyfried in First Trailer for Thriller Chiller Gone!

Amanda Seyfried in First Trailer for Thriller Chiller Gone!

Amanda Seyfried headlines Gone, a thriller written by Allison Burnette (Underworld Awakening). It’s Seyfried’s third film in less than a year, after Red Riding Hood and In Time. (The latter much more well received than the former). I’m still undecided as to what I make of this. It seems to have quite a few things in common with Silence of the Lambs, not to mention any number of slasher/teen horror flicks.

It seems to me that this would be relegated to straight to video…er excuse me dvd, if it weren’t for Seyfried. While the supporting cast does have some talented actors in it, there aren’t any names that can open or carry a movie. I’m not sure Seyfried can either. She had the likes of Gary Oldman and Julie Christie behind her in Red Riding Hood and In Time was Justin Timberlake’s movie, but here she is clearly the star. The talented cast does include Wes Bentley (who needs to work more), Jennifer Carpenter, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Sunjata ("Rescue Me"), and Joel David Moore (Avatar).

We’ll see. The trailer is not without potential. Gone is the English language debut of Brazilian director Heitor Dhalia (2009’s Adrift) and arrives in theaters 24 February in the US and the UK.
