The dress Amy Winehouse wore for the cover of her Back To Black album has fetched $67,500 at auction according to Kerry Taylor Auctions in London. That's 4 times the amount it was originally being asked for!

The Foundation Museo de la Moda in Chile won the auction with the proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Amy's father Mitch was at the auction and said:

"We are just over the moon and this is a wonderful start to the foundation," 

The foundation was started after the July 23, 2011 untimely death of the 27 year old singer/songwriter who had long battled drugs and alcohol but, at the time of her death, hadn't taken drugs for 3 years. She did, however, go on a drinking binge which was the cause of her death. The foundation's aim is to help vulnerable young people.

A posthumous album featuring never heard songs from Amy will be released December 6.

Despite being free of drugs for a while, Amy Winehouse 27, died from alcohol poisoning after having five times the legal limit of alcohol in her system. The sad part is that she had been three weeks dry when she went on that binge. The coroner confirmed:

"She had consumed sufficient alcohol at 416mg per decilitre (of blood) and the unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels was her sudden and unexpected death."

When Amy was found dead on July 23, 2011 police recovered two large bottles of Vodka and one small bottle. 

This must be such devastating news to her family and friends given that she seemed to be on the road to sobriety.

Amy Winehouse's family has issued a statement on the findings:

 "It is some relief to finally find out what happened to Amy.  We understand there was alcohol in her system when she passed away, it is likely a build up of alcohol in her system over a number of days."

The statement continues, "The court heard that Amy was battling hard to conquer her problems with alcohol and it is a source of great pain to us that she could not win in time. She had started drinking again that week after a period of abstinence."

"It underlines how important our work with the Amy Winehouse Foundation is to us, to help as many young people and children as we can in her name."

"It means a lot to us and from the overwhelming messages of support we have had since Amy died, we know she meant a great deal to people all over the world.  We want to thank everyone for that and for their continuing enthusiasm for the Foundation."

Amy Winehouse 27, died July 23, 2011 and even though she had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, when a 27 year old dies, it’s still shocking.

The fiercely talented Amy Winehouse did things in excess whether it was drugs, alcohol, or rehab according to her father Mitch Winehouse.

Mitch Winehouse and Amy’s mother sit down with Anderson Cooper to talk about the health and state that Amy was in at the time of her death and confirms that she was on Librium which is used to help people detox, but like all things she used it in excess and experienced seizures.

As for illegal drugs, she hadn’t touched them in almost three years:

“We really felt we were out of the woods. We saw the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Still so sad, isn’t it? Anderson Cooper’s interview with Amy’s parents and her boyfriend Reg Traviss premieres Monday.

Piers Morgan sat down with the late Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch Winehouse to talk about the untimely death of the talented singer/songwriter in an emotional interview where Mitch says the real Amy was so full of love:

“She had so many qualities and so many frailties… but all of the nonsense that was written about her in the papers is all gone now. Everybody is full of love and admiration for her.” “She was full of love…even for people that didn’t deserve it. I just wish she was here so we could give her a cuddle.”

You know it’s so true. We all took our shots at her and her antics (myself included I”m sorry to say) and now that she’s gone it certainly makes you reflect on the fact that beneath all the so-called imperfections everybody (well mostly everybody) has good qualities and she seemed to have more good than bad.

This is an interview I definitely hope to catch.

Mark Ronson 35, married French model Josephine De La Baume 26, in the South of France on the weekend and both he and his wife remembered and paid tribute to Mark’s good friend Amy Winehouse (he also happened to produce her Back To Black album) according to a source:

“Amy was a great friend of both Mark and Josephine and they would have been thrilled to have her with them at their big day, but sadly it wasn’t to be”

“Amy would definitely have sung one of her hits at the wedding if she were still alive, as she meant to much to both of them. Her death devastated the pair of them.”

Mark and Josephine were engaged in February but have been together since 2009. Their wedding was a two-day affair in Aix de Provence, France with the bride wearing a custom-designed Zac Posen.

Amy Winehouse died at the age of 27 at her home on July 23, 2011.

When I first heard the news this past weekend (from the U.K.’s Sun) that Amy Winehouse was in the process of adopting 10 year old Dannika Augustine from St. Lucia I was skeptical. Then when I saw the pictures of the alleged adoptee and Amy Winehouse I knew the story was b.s.

First of all she was in no condition to take care of a minor as she was taking care of herself at the time of her death. And also because the pictures that were circulating around the internet show an Amy Winehouse WITHOUT her breast implants which she has had for a while.

Not that that is conclusive in and of itself but it just shows how old those pictures are. Just because there is a picture of her hugging a girl from a few years back does not mean she’s adopting.

Her rep has confirmed with TMZ that there was not any adoption in process:

 ”It’s not true” … adding, “I think [Amy] might have met her in St. Lucia, but she was in no way about to adopt her.”

So there you have it.

Amy Winehouse’s funeral service was held today at the Edgwarebury Cemetery with only close family and friends attending.

She was cremated after the service and apparently her ashes are going to be combined with her grandmother’s and sprinkled together.  She was very close to her grandmother.

In honor of Amy Winehouse, her best friend, Kelly Osbourne wore her hair in Amy’s trademark beehive. Amy’s former boyfriend Reg Traviss has finally broken his silence on her death and said:

‘The last three days have been hell. We have suffered a terrible untimely loss and want peace now.

‘I can’t describe what I am going through and I want to thank so much all of the people who have paid their respects and who are mourning the loss of Amy, such a beautiful, brilliant person and my dear love. I have lost my darling who I loved very much.’

In his eulogy her father Mitch spoke of how happy she had been lately and concluded it with:

 ’Goodnight, my angel. Sleep tight.’

It’s still so hard to believe she’s gone at the tender age of 27. She was just a kid! Such a sad loss for such a remarkable talent.

Amy Winehouse’s parents, Mitch and Janis Winehouse along with Amy’s brother Alex and her former fiancé Reg Traviss greeted the many fans that stood outside of Amy’s London home where the singer was found dead on Saturday.

Her parents read the touching sentiments left by fans and talked with fans and thanked them:

“I can’t tell you what this means to us. It really is making this a lot easier for us,” he told the gathered mourners. “Amy was about one thing and that was love. Her whole life was devoted to her family and her friends and to you guys as well.”

“Thank you for coming,” he told the fans. “It means so much to me and my family.”

An autopsy is scheduled for today. TMZ is reporting that a friend and rep for Amy, Chris Goodman said Amy died in her bed alone:

“She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep and when he went to wake her he found she wasn’t breathing.”

Goodman continued, “He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed.”

It breaks my heart to think of her dying alone and also to see her parents grieving for their daughter. But one thing is for certain, they are feeling a lot of love from Amy’s fans and hopefully that will help them through this terrible time.
