Amazing Super Spider-Man Preview + Two New Posters!

Amazing Super Spider-Man Preview + Two New Posters!

Embedded within last night’s season premiere of America’s Got Talent (featuring the debut of fanboy and new judge Howard Stern), was a four minute sneak peek at Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man. The prospect of this was not enough to get me to watch the show, however, as I knew it would be available on the web shortly thereafter. And so it is.

The preview amounts to an extended trailer but there is also a LOT of new footage, starting with the opening sequence on the bridge. And hey, that’s C. Thomas Howell playing the dad! Take a look:

“The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.”

We also have two terrific new posters, one above and one below. It seems they’ve moved up the release date as well. It’s now being touted as July 3 in the US as well as the UK (right before the holiday in the US.) The Amazing Spider-Man will be available for your viewing pleasure in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D. Can’t wait!

New TV Spot for The Amazing Spider-Man Teases Sneak Preview!

Here’s a slick new, actually the first, tv spot for The Amazing Spider-Man (and yes, it does contain a wee bit of new footage) that also serves as a teaser for a preview. The clip promises a four minute sneak peek at the film premiering Monday May 14 and found within the season premiere of “America’s Got Talent” on NBC.

The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on July 3. The film also stars Denis Leary, Campbell Scott and Irrfan Khan. Check out the two new stills of Garfield above and Stone below.

Don’t Lizards Eat Spiders? This Can’t Be Good

Don't Lizards Eat Spiders? This Can't Be Good

Okay, am I psychic or what?? Was it not just yesterday that I brought you a Super Mega Spidey Post? What was the only thing missing? How about a new trailer?  Well, guess what? We have a new trailer for Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man! (By the way, those are rhetorical questions. I knew this was coming.)

There is a lot of new footage in this one, not to mention some Spidey humor. We saw him toy with the car thieves in an earlier version but this one has more of the accompanying dialogue to the scene.    It also features more of The Lizard (aka Dr. Curt Connors). We had stills yesterday, today we have slithering,, lizardy mayhem. Watch this:

His past was kept from him. His search for answers has just begun.

This is definitely a darker version than any of the three films featuring Tobey Maguire as the webslinger, and I realize that most of the action in this movie is CGI, but it still looks INSANE!

The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary and Rhys Ifans opens on most of the planet on July 3 – 4.

This Is a Super Mega-Spidey Post!

This Is a Super Mega-Spidey Post!

We have so much stuff for The Amazing Spider-Man to share with you! We have a sweet look at “teen-aged” lovers Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker (Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield – real life sweeties as of this writing), Spidey looking a little worse for wear and at the mercy of his arch-nemesis The Lizard (aka Dr. Curt Connors) played by Rhys Ifans, a couple of new posters, including one for the Japanese market, oh, and how about a look at Campbell Scott as Spidey’s late lamented dad,  Dr. Richard Parker?  One last thing, (thanks to Movieweb) a first glimpse at Irrfan Khan as another villain, Dr. Ratha.

“Like most teenagers his age, Peter (Garfield) is trying to figure out who he is and how to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father (Campbell Scott) held… a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny asSpider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story.”

The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D on July 3 in the US and July 4 in the UK and most of the rest of the planet. Starring Garfield, Stone and Ifans, it costars Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. More coming soon! (Hopefully this satisfies your RDA of Lizard.)

Another Super Mega Posters Post incl Twilight: Breaking Dawn – part 2!

Another Super Mega Posters Post incl Twilight: Breaking Dawn - part 2!

It’s time for another posters post! Woo hoo! *demented poodle dance*  I kid.  Seriously, the new posters are stackin’ up around here like cordwood.

Another Super Mega Posters Post incl Twilight: Breaking Dawn - part 2!

Let’s start with two posters for The Amazing Spider-Man. Once again, nothing for weeks and now we’ve had new clips and pics and today we have not one but two shiny new posters. Personally I’m partial to the one with Spidey clinging to the side of a building. The other one, for all of its color and shine, is kind of bland.

“Like most teenagers his age, Peter (Andrew Garfield) is trying to figure out who he is and how to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father (Campbell Scott) held… a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny asSpider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story.”

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Irrfan Khan, Annie Parisse, C. Thomas Howell and Embeth Davidtz. The screenplay is by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. It’s scheduled for release on July 3rd in the US, 4th July in the UK, in 3D, of course.

Next up we have a new poster for indie romance Take This Waltz with Seth Rogan, Michelle Williams, and Luke Kirby as the three sides to a love triangle. It’s been playing festivals since TIFF and will finally get a release in the US in June

Take This Waltz, has been described as a funny, bittersweet and heart-wrenching story about a woman struggling to choose between two different types of love within a surreal, fairy tale-like love triangle.

The supporting cast includes Sarah Silverman as Rogan’s recovering alcoholic sister and Aaron Abrams as well as the city of Toronto, director Sarah Polley’s hometown, which she has painted with a light and airy brush full of color. Take This Waltz will get a limited release in the US starting June 29.

I am really looking forward to Neil Jordan’s return to the world of vampires in Byzantium. We’ve had some set pics of Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan,  as well as one lonely official image. I’m thrilled to share the first poster today!

The synopsis:

Eleanor and Clara, two mysterious and penniless young women, flee the scene of a violent crime and arrive in a run-down coastal resort. They try to find money and refuge along the tawdry seafront and in the dilapidated hotels.

Clara, ever-practical, sells her body. She soon meets shy and lonely Noel, who provides a roof over their heads in his seedy guesthouse, Byzantium. Clara, always looking towards the future, turns it into a ‘pop-up’ brothel.

Meanwhile Eleanor, the eternal schoolgirl, meets Frank, a kindred spirit who unwittingly prompts her to tell the truth about her life. She tells him that Clara is her mother; yet Clara is only a few years older. She says that she was born in 1804; yet she is just sixteen. She confesses that she must drink human blood to stay alive – and so must her mother. In the small, quiet town, people start to die.

And the past that the girls have been running from for so long, finally catches up with them – with astonishing consequences.

Arterton and Ronan are joined by Caleb Landry Jones as Frank, as well as Jonny Lee Miller, Sam Riley, Daniel Mays and Tom Hollander. Byzantium is currently in post-production but still no exact release dates.

Another Super Mega Posters Post incl Twilight: Breaking Dawn - part 2!

Okay kiddies, this is probably one you’ve been waiting for…the big Kahuna of today’s posters is the first official from Twilight: Breaking Dawn – part 2.  I have to say, I’m a big disappointed. It’s your first real look at the family Cullen and it’s basically a bland photoshopped bunch of “meh”.  Not having read thebooks, I wonder how half-human/half-vamp Renesmee is going to handle Mummy going the total vamp route?

After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi

Twilight: Breaking Dawn – part 2 opens November 16 in the US, Canada and the UK.

Lots of Lizard vs Spider Action in Japanese Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man!

Lots of Lizard vs Spider Action in Japanese Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man!

Um…wow! This Japanese version of the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man is supercharged!

While there is some new footage in the form of interaction with Peter Parker’s Aunt May and Uncle Ben (Sally Field and Martin Sheen), there is also much more with Rhys Ifans Dr. Curt Connors aka The Lizard. That’s appropriate as this is supposed to be a true origins story and not just a reboot. It’s all action packed!

A lot of the action we’ve seen in the domestic trailer, some we have not. In any case it’ll pump *snap-point* you up.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Garfield, Ifans, Sheen, Field, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Irrfan Khan, Annie Parisse, C.

Along Came 3 Little Clips for The Amazing SPIDER-Man

Along Came 3 Little Clips for The Amazing SPIDER-Man

With all of the superhero goings on lately, most of which have surrounded The Avengers, we don’t want to forget about the other big screen “costume” drama, The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker in an origins story that starts during Spidey’s high school years. Directed by Marc Webb, the film costars Emma Stone, who plays love interest Gwen Stacy (not Mary Jane Watson).

Here are three new short clips, that are tied to the film’s Kellogg’s cereals promotion. They can be found by pointing your smartphone at the back of specially marked boxes. (Thanks to ComingSoon who has done the work for us.)

The first is a very short clip which basically suggests you don’t want to startle Peter Parker…

Another very short clip. This one suggests that Peter Parker doesn’t know his own strength…also, that he should keep a plumber ‘on-call’…

Finally, Spidey earns his “Web slinger” nickname and has a little fun with a miscreant…

The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D on July 3 in the US and July 4 in the UK and most of the rest of the planet. It costars Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. More coming soon! (The above is a new poster of Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, because this day didn't have enough Lizard in it.)

The Doorman is Intimidating in New Clip & Intl Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man!

Woo Hoo! Watch the First Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man!

In a new clip from The Amazing Spider-Man, it’s Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) vs the UWS doorman: he of the last line of defense, all that stands between the lords of the manor at which he stands vigil and the riff-raff who habituate the urban jungle a few concrete feet away. This particular doorman seems to moonlight for Homeland Security. Since he’s eliminated the obvious reasons for the kid to be darkening his door (he’s not a messenger and he’s not there to be tutored) he’s not letting Pete up to see his girlfriend Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) unless he gets a look in that bag.

This new international trailer (English with French subtitles) gives us a little more footage than we saw in the domestic version a couple of weeks ago, including a couple of shots of Spider-Man leaping between buildings:

Did you catch the reference to the situation in the clip? “Your doorman’s intimidating.” I’m guessing Peter Parker chose not to reveal what was in the bag.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
