A Cache of New Pics from Angelina Jolies In the Land of Blood and Honey!

A Cache of New Pics from Angelina Jolies In the Land of Blood and Honey!

We have some fantastic new images from Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut, In the Land of Blood & Honey. The actress also wrote the story of two Bosnians, Lejla, a Muslim woman and Danijel, a Serbian man, lovers before the war, who are separated only to be brought back together when Lejla is imprisoned at a POW camp where Danijel is a guard. The film was given a December release date, prime awards season territory, way back in the spring. The film did, however, remain a mystery as to whether it was actually any good or the FilmDistrict had picked it up because Jolie's name would invite the curious.

The first trailer made the film look like the real deal. It's definitely a love story set against the backdrop of war, but it speaks to some larger issues, specifically trust, as well. Jolie has been quoted as saying, "The film is specific to the Bosnian War, but it’s also universal. I wanted to tell a story of how human relationships and behavior are deeply affected by living inside a war."

The most well-known name in the cast is Rade Serbedzija (The Saint, Snatch, X-Men: First Class). Danijel and Lejla (Ajla) are played by Goran Kostic (The Hunting Party, Taken, Of Gods and Men) and Zana Marjanovic (who’s got such a beautiful open face). I'm anxious to see the film to judge for myself, but from what I’ve seen so far, I get the impression that Jolie knows what she's doing behind the camera as well as in front of it. In the Land of Blood & Honey opens December 23 in limited release (NY & LA) and in other parts of the world next Spring.

Watch New Clips for Angelina Jolie’s In the Land of Blood and Honey

Poster and New Images for In the Land of Blood & Honey from Director Angelia Jolie

From Film District and GK Films comes a film written and directed by Angelina Jolie called In the Land of Blood and Honey. We've shown you the official trailer, posters and a few stills. Now we have some clips of the film to share.  It's an intelligent, artful look at a love story set during the Bosnian War;  about Danijel (Goran Kostić) and Ajla (Zana Marjanović), two Bosnians from different sides of a brutal ethnic conflict. It's a sort of Romeo and Juliette for a time so much more blood-soaked and fundamentally divided than even Shakespeare's 13thcentury Italy.

Danijel, a Bosnian Serb police officer, and Ajla, a Bosnian Muslim artist, are together before the war, but their relationship is changed as violence engulfs the country. Months later, Danijel is serving under his father, General Nebojsa Vukojevich (Rade Šerbed

Angelina Jolie is Confused By Amazon.com

Angelina Jolie is Confused By Amazon.com

This is all kinds of sadness mixed in with a whole lot of doubt. Angelina Jolie has admitted that she finds Amazon.com confusing. It's hard to believe the mother of 6, humanitarian, actress, writer and director isn't able to navigate her way through the website but apparently it's true. Is this some kind of genius marketing ploy she and Amazon have cooked up?

During her promotional tour for her directorial debut in The Land of Blood and Honey, Angelina told USA Today that she shops early in case they have to travel and as for shopping online:

"Brad and I were on Amazon.com for the first time a week ago. But we got lost. After an hour, we just shut it off. My brain is too scattered and the wires go in different directions. I'll stick to catalogs."

Um. Do they even make catalogs anymore?

She also talked to the newspaper about how her life has completely changed from her wild days:

"I was just being a young girl who was experimental, bold and a bit nutty," she says. "I was absolutely self-destructive. I think a lot of young people in this business lose their way. You don't know what is of value. You don't know where you are. And you know something's wrong, because it isn't life as it actually is. It's like living in some warped reality."

And that change came courtesy of one little man known as Maddox:

"I knew once I committed to Maddox, I would never be self-destructive again. Now I have five more," she says with that famous smile. "So I have to behave."

As for her future career as a director it looks promising. Even Clint Eastwood has given the thumbs up:

"I think it's a tough movie and that it's extremely well made, and tough movies that are extremely well made are very hard to do."

But will Angelina direct again:

"I did love directing. If I'm allowed, if I'm accepted, I will do it again. I am still very shy about it."

It seems that no matter what she touches, it turns to gold. Except shopping on Amazon.com.

Brad’s Parents Support Angelina Jolie at Her Movie Premiere (PHOTOS)

Brad's Parents Support Angelina Jolie at Her Movie Premiere (PHOTOS)

Ever notice how with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt they are either practically dry-humping each other on the red carpet or looking like they can barely tolerate one another? Yesterday's premiere of 'In The Land of Blood and Honey' took place at the School of Visual Arts in New York City had the man are we stoned toned-down version of Brangelina. Could be because his parents were there.

Brad's father looks thrilled to be there, doesn't he? Despite the rumors that Brad's parents don't care for Angelina they showed their support to her and Brad by being at the premiere of Angelina's directorial debut.

Do you like Angelina's dress? I have to say Brad's mom is quite a lovely looking lady!

Angelina Jolie Sued For Stealing Story Behind Her Film

Angelina Jolie Sued For Stealing Story Behind Her Film

Angelina Jolie made her directorial and writing debut in the upcoming film 'In The Land of Blood & Honey' and so far the reviews have not sucked at all. Madonna could take a lesson or two from Angie. Meow.

It is being reported that Angelina Jolie is being sued by someone who alleges that she stole the story behind the film based on an article he wrote in 2007. It's interesting that the film opens this month (December 23) and that it's now that we hear about this lawsuit

Croatian journalist and author James J. Braddock is claiming an article he wrote and published in 2007 is the basis for the film. The similarities between his article and the movie in the lawsuit states:

"The Subject Work’s main female character is subject to continuous abuse and rape by soldiers and officers in the camp. In addition to being raped continuously by soldiers and officers, she is forced to become a servant at the camp headquarters, a duty assumed by very few of the captives. The Motion Picture’s main female character is also subject to continuous rape by soldiers and officers in the camp and subsequently becomes a servant at camp headquarters."

James is seeking damages from the court in a trial jury. He not only is suing Angelina Jolie but is also suing the Los Angeles based production company that financed the movie: GK Films.

No comment from Angie's camp just yet. I'm sure this isn't the last we'll hear about this.

Poster and New Images for In the Land of Blood & Honey from Director Angelina Jolie

Poster and New Images for In the Land of Blood & Honey from Director Angelia Jolie

Angelina Jolie wrote and directed In the Land of Blood & Honey, a story set during the Bosnian War that tore that region apart in the 1990’s, the aftershocks of which are still being felt, in which Danijel, a soldier fighting for the Serbs, re-encounters Ajla, a Bosnian who's now a captive in the camp he oversees. Their once promising connection has become ambiguous as their motives have changed. The Film District has just released the first poster, which is kind of a Rorschach test in blood, as well as three stills which feature Zana Marjanovic, who plays Ajla, and the director.

In the Land of Blood & Honey was given a December release date, prime awards season territory, way back in the spring. The film did, however, remain a mystery as to whether it was actually any good or the FilmDistrict had only picked it up because Jolie's name would invite the curious. It was was conspicuously absent from the festival circuit and there has been no promo material released, until about a month ago, when we got the first, powerful, trailer for the film.

The trailer made it look like the real deal. It's definitely a love story set against the backdrop of war, but it speaks to some larger issues, specifically trust, as well. Jolie has been quoted as saying, "The film is specific to the Bosnian War, but it’s also universal. I wanted to tell a story of how human relationships and behavior are deeply affected by living inside a war." I'm anxious to see the rest of it, but the trailer gives the impression that Jolie knows what she's doing behind the camera as well as in front of it.

In the Land of Blood & Honey stars Marjanovic,  Rade Serbedzija, Nikola Djuricko, Branko Djuric, Goran Kostic, Goran Jevtic, Fedja Stukan, Dolya Gavanski and will open December 23 in Bosnia's native Bhs language with English subtitles. (A bold move by The Film District for which they need to be rewarded with our butts in the seats.)

Angelina Jolie and Gwen Stefani’s Kids Playdate PHOTOS

Angelina Jolie and Gwen Stefani's Kids Playdate PHOTOS

Angelina Jolie is in London and stopped by Gwen Stefani's home with Zahara, Shiloh, and the cute little twins Vivienne and Knox for a playdate with Gwen's kids Zuma and Kingston where the kids got into finger paints.

If this friendship (Angelina and Gwen) seems odd, it's not really. These two apparently bonded when their kids (Shiloh and Kingston) were born within days of reach other.

Apparently Angie and brood arrived at about 5 p.m. and left at about 9 p.m. Enjoy the pics.
