Howard Stern covers the April, 2011 issue of Rolling Stone magazine where he opened up in a 3 hour interview about his divorce from first wife Alison Burns, empty sex during his single life and his wife the beautiful animal-loving (I heart her madly for that) wife model, author and activist Beth Ostrosky.

On his sex life after his first marriage broke up:

“After my divorce, I realized, “Oh, wow, I can go have sex.” And I was running around, picking up women. Then all of a sudden, it dawned on me that I really didn’t need that much sex. I just wanted somebody with me every minute. I was using women as a surrogate mother. When I tapped into that, it suddenly became very childish behavior. And really, was it so great fucking every night? They’re using me for my fame, I’m using them for their beauty, and the whole fucking thing seemed empty.”

Is that refreshing or what? Given how Howard Stern used to be (or I guess still is to an extent) on the air, one would have thought he would love the dirty sex with many women that being single (and a celebrity) can bring. I’m really very surprised and very impressed that Howard Stern admitted to Rolling Stone how empty that life was! Are you surprised?

Howard isn’t taking anything for granted in life. He tells Rolling Stone that he isn’t taking his marriage to Beth for granted:

“In many ways, my marriage now is so easy, but I’m also aware that I could fuck things up very easily. I could start getting more into my work, and ignoring what’s important to Beth. I’m awfully narcissistic, and I have to keep that in check. I can’t be like King Tut sitting there and expect to be taken care of, because so many times we can turn our wives into mothers.”

Without sounding like a female chauvinist pig (which I admit that I can very much be) it is amazing to me that he is so in touch with this stuff and is constantly aware that he can just let his marriage coast, that it needs work regularly.

New York is buzzing with Fashion Week going on and lots of celebrities are making there way to the Big Apple to check out the shows.  I’m sure they must get freebies or major discounts too! Don’t they get swag bags as well? Such is the life.

The very beautiful Mariska Hargitay attended the Haley & Jason Binn’s Memorial Day party in the Hamptons where Mariska’s cover on Hamptons Magazine was also celebrated.

Mariska is one star who gives back in a big way.  She started The Joyful Heart Foundation when she started receiving letters from women telling her their own stories of violence and abuse:

Joyful Heart was my way of dealing with what we did on the show. I felt like I really had something to offer. Olivia is a lioness and you feel safe with her, which is why the people who wrote me the letters felt safe talking to me, “Now that the issues were out there on television, it became acceptable to talk and start a dialogue about.”

Having a child only heightened things for her in life:

“It completely changed everything. I think it changed all my work,” she says. “You understand things in a deeper way when you become a parent. Someone once said to me, ‘When you’re a person, your heart is on the inside. When you become a mother, your heart is on the outside and you feel everything deeper.’” Hargitay knows this sounds trite. She doesn’t care. “I experienced all of those clichéd things that everyone always tells you about when you become a parent,”

Matt Damon premiered Green Zone in New York last night with his lovely and very lucky wife Luciana Barroso who wore a gorgeous blue off the shoulder dress. Costars Amy Ryan, Nicoye Banks, Khalid Abdalla, and Jason Isaacs also attended as did Brendan Gleeson.

Matt Damon plays Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller:

Discovering covert and faulty intelligence causes a U.S. Army officer to go rogue as he hunts for Weapons of Mass Destruction in an unstable region

The movie opens in theatres March 12.  Also attending the premiere:  Howard Stern and his lovely wife Beth Ostrosky, Julia Stiles, Andrew McCarthy and others.

At the premiere Howard Stern talked to The Insider and gave his opinion on American Idol and how he feels about working with Ellen DeGeneres:

“I read in the paper that they want to give me $100 million to judge a karaoke contest, and that seems like pretty good pay for something as dumb as that,”

“Ellen has said she won’t work with me, but quite frankly, after watching her on the stupid show, I gotta tell ya, I won’t work with Ellen. She’s out if I come in.”

Ouch.

Mark Wahlberg premieres The Lovely Bones in New York at the Paris Theatre along with costars:  Peter Jackson (the Director of the movie), Saoirse Ronan, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperiolo, and Nikki SooHoo.

The movie:

Centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal

Ashley Olsen can be seen making her way to the Isaac Mizrahi Live! collection launch in New York last night which took place at Stage 37.

The Live collection will be sold on QVC starting December 4 and will include Isaac’s signature trademark designs from:  ‘apparel to handbags, shoes, jewelry and home decor and kitchen accessories’.  Does QVC ship to Canada? This could be very dangerous.
