It looks like things are taking a turn for the better in the Cyrus family.  Miley’s daddy, Billy Ray Cyrus taped an episode of The View and announced,

“I’ve dropped the divorce.  I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they’ve ever been.  I feel like I got my Miley back in a way.  I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before Hannah Montana happened.”

He still believes that fame sort of ripped their family up, but he’s no longer blaming Hannah Montana completely for their troubles.  He was famous first you know.

Anyhow, I think that is great news.  I hate divorce.  It should only be reserved for the spouses who married monsters. Other than that, you need to fight to make it work.

Cue the banjos, there is drama in the Cyrus clan. Miley Cyrus flexed her muscle and forced pa Billy Ray to cancel his interview on The View. He recently referred to his daughter as Anna Nicole Smith (way to go pa) and said that Disney destroyed his family.  He must be getting his parenting-fame-whoring skills from Michael Lohan.

Popeater’s Rob Shuter reports that a family friend told him:

When Miley found out her father was scheduled to appear on ‘The View’ on Wednesday she went nuts,”  ”Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down with [Barbara and Whoopi] and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen.

While Billy claims to want to shelter his daughter, I’m not sure how he thinks viewing their private business on The View will accomplish this. Not only is Miley pissed with him you can imagine the hell he will go through now that Barbara Walters is pissed with him.

Billy Ray’s rep confirmed to PopEater that mullet-man’s NYC trip was cancelled.

This family has been in show business all of their lives, so they know the score. It’s odd that Billy Ray would go down this path unless it’s all calculated. Yet I can’t imagine it is. I’m baffled by all of this.

This weekend, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish went out to a movie together.  It looked like the supposed divorcees were having a nice date and quite possibly working things out.

There hasn’t been any word of the divorce papers being withdrawn, but they still have plenty of time.  They filed in October and have that six month waiting period before it can be finalized.

I guess that Billy and Tish are giving a great example of why this “rule” exists.  If judges granted divorces as soon as they were filed, no one would ever reconcile.

I now believe in the rule.

As part of her holiday fun, Miley and her little sister Noah rocked out on the karaoke machine, singing”Can’t Be Tamed” together.

Their big sister Brandi spilled the beans on Twitter,

“Miley and noah are currently singing “can’t be tamed” on noah’s new karaoke machine.  It’s pretty hilarious.  My Mom is videoing … maybe if you’re lucky i’ll snag it and upload.”

Miley announced her plans for the upcoming 2011… which is only 5 days away,

“I want to make this the year that I go out and do what I’m here to do, and that’s to help people and make people happy.”

Well…. that sounds like a very nice plan.  Miley… if you stay away from the booze and salvia, a lot of people will be very happy indeed.  I’m just sayin’….

Earlier today we linked to TMZ’s story about Miley Cyrus being seen on a video smoking salvia from a water bong and getting stoned.  She inhales like a pro doesn’t she?

Salvia is a natural herb that has psychedelic qualities and makes one laugh hysterically. AND the herb is legal in California! Suddenly the theme song from The Beverly Hillbillies is playing in my mind.

Well Billy Ray took to his Twitter page today to apologize for his daughter’s antics:

That statement reveals a lot doesn’t it?  Miley’s parents are in the process of a divorce and Billy Ray has lost control of the family and it’s really bothering him. I’m not a fan of the family but I feel sorry for him. I can’t imagine how painful it is for a parent to feel like he does right now.

What do you think? Is Miley just being typical of someone that age? I mean she is legally an adult now, right, or is this the beginning of a problem?

Well, technically Miley Cyrus won’t be the ripe age of 18 until tomorrow, November 23. But that hasn’t stopped her from celebrating the milestone in advance.  After last night’s AMAs where she gave a less the pleasant sounding performance of ‘Love and Forgiveness‘, she headed to Trousdale for a huge party in her honor.  And that’s not the only celebration she’ll be enjoying:

No need to jump into another relationship!

Billy Ray Cyrus has got his panties in a bunch y’all.  Miley Cyrus‘ daddy is divorcing her mama, Tish Cyrus for allegedly sleeping with Bret Michaels.

Well, of course everyone wants to hear Billy Ray’s side of things.  So he went on the “Woody & The Wake-Up Call” show on WCOL in Nashville to do an interview with Woody Johnson.
