Besides Jay Z and Beyonce's wedding, this is probably one of the worst kept secrets to happen: Britney Spears is confirmed as a judge on Simon Cowell's X Factor. She joins the already confirmed Demi Lovato to fill the estrogen void and bring to the show a whole new younger demographic. That surprises me because I would have thought it's already a young demographic or at least a demographic that includes the ages of their fan base. Either way, it's a brilliant move whether you think those two ladies are suited for the position or not. It has garnered tons of buzz and it will continue to do so. 

The original rumor was BritBrit was getting $10 million for the gig but the word on the street is it's more like $15 million.

Britney Spears is in talks with Simon Cowell to be a judge on X Factor and it's looking like it's very, very close to being a reality. He's pretty pumped to have her and she wants on the show. And she has a big-ass crush on the British bachelor. And of course this just makes for awesome headlines and suggestions that he poses a threat to her relationship with fiance Jason Trawick. The National Enquirer is latching on to it like a pitbull claiming:

“Britney is so star struck by Simon she was willing to sign for a lot less than her management team was hold­ing out for,” said a source. “And now that he’s unattached, anything could happen.”

“Jason is a bit jealous of Simon’s babe magnet reputation,” the source revealed. “And he knows Britney has a thing for Simon.

“Jason plans on sticking close to Britney if she does the show. He knows she is easily smitten, and that Simon can really turn on the charm. He just wants to make sure Britney doesn’t get carried away.”

The article claims she is willing to sign for less than $10 million just to get on the show and that Jason is insisting on around the $15 million figure. In addition to that her management team is making sure there is a 'no bullying' clause in her contract so that Simon can't be mean to her. Despite her raging crush on him she knows what he's capable of.

Despite Simon's lothario image, and Britney's crush on him, I just can't see these two getting involved. Jason is perfect for her and she knows it!

The latest in the rumors surrounding which celebrity will join the X Factor is George Clooney's girlfriend Stacy Keibler. Although Britney Spears allegedly rejected their $10 million offer, they are still negotiating with her and as you recall there are two judging spots that need to be filled which were previously occupied by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger:

“Talks are still ongoing with Britney, and she is asking for a lot more money, than was originally offered. But producers are confident Britney will realize this is a great opportunity for her to reinvent herself and accept their deal.”

The New York Post is reporting that the actress and former model and wrestler lacks a music background so she's being considered for the hosting gig which was originally held by Steve Jones:

“Stacy Keibler is also in talks to join the show, but her lack of experience in the music business may make her more appropriate as a host. She looks fantastic and has bags of charisma.”

'Bags of charisma'. That's a funny expression, but seriously she would be perfect for the hosting position. Simon Cowell is being tight-lipped about who they are speaking with and telling us we all have to wait to find out but DID say this much:

“You’ll have to wait and see. I can’t confirm or deny anything right now. The truth is, we are talking to a number of people.”

Cowell added, “We are looking at a very famous singer and one very famous actress.” And in a move that may help Keibler land a hosting role, he continued, “I always wanted a boy and a girl to host the show. And I like hosts who don’t kind of have a hosting background . . . it’s a different kind of dynamic.”

There is a lot of talk lately that Britney Spears is in the final negotiations to become one of the X Factor judges and now we are hearing that she's looking for $10 million to make it so.

Simon Cowell is bent on getting Brit on the show because he's quite fascinated with her:

"The fact that she’s one of the most talked about – not just pop stars, but people – in the world today means that you’ve got this star power. This girl has resilience.

No doubt she is going to bring the audience to the show. Boasting almost 14 million followers on Twitter her fans are among the most loyal around.

It seems the ball is clearly in her court:

“I would think that if she’s managed to sustain a family, a career, which is tough… [X Factor would be] a walk in the park,” he explained, “I would be fascinated to hear what she has to say. She’s still hot, she’s still having hit records and she’s still controversial. There’s a reason for that.”

And then of course there is also the fact that she will be in direct competition against The Voice which has on its panel her former Mickey Mouse Club friend Christina Aguilera. Not that there is any rivalry between the two but you know the producers are going to milk that any way they can.

Britney Spears' ex-husband (and father to her boys Jayden James and Sean Preston) Kevin Federline 33, was reportedly rushed to hospital with an apparent heart attack after collapsing on a weight loss show Excess Baggage for Nine Network in Sydney, Australia.

He collapsed with chest pains after competing in a challenge. This is the second time he has had health issues on the show; the first time he collapsed from heat exhaustion.

When he started the show he weighed in at 105.4 kg or 232 pounds. These types of shows tend to be on the brutal side with the weight loss being in a very short period of time. Couple that with extreme heat and it's a recipe for problems.

Someone's bitter. Britney Spears' ex-husband that she was married to for 55 hours back in 2004 (a marriage that was annulled three days later), Jason Alexander, has come out with comments that her engagement to Jason Trawick is phony. He tells US exclusively:

"I know everyone wants me to be happy about this, but I am not,"  "I think it's fake and I think people are afraid to say it."

"If you look at all the pictures between them there is no connection," he added. "They look like they are going through the motions.  It seems like a answer to the court thing."

"Sort of a nice way to sew it all up she marries her handler," Alexander sniped. "That way she always has someone controlling her. It's sort of sad."
