Celine Dion The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on CBS

Grammy-winning singer, Celine Dion has been an idol of mine since I was in second grade.  I adore this woman.  She is such a busy, working mom these days, I admire her all the more.   She’s got her live Las Vegas show, new Celine Dion Signature fragrance (launching in September), and of course her 10-year-old son, Rene-Charles, and 9-month-old twin boys, Nelson and Eddy.  How does she do it?

ON CARING FOR HER TWINS:
“I have a lot of help that I didn’t think I needed. My sister Linda, who’s the godmother of my children, is like my children’s second mother. It’s pretty amazing, because she wanted to have 14 children and can’t have any. But she says, ‘Don’t feel bad. I can help you raise children. That’s what I was [put] here for.’”

ON THE KIND OF MOTHER SHE IS:
“What I’m most proud of is the mother I am. I’m good for cuddling, talking, listening. When I’m trying to get Rene-Charles to try or do something, I’m very, very patient.”

ON LOSING A CHILD:
“I was supposed to have triplets. I saw the three of them grow, but in a very early stage, though, one heart stopped beating. It was hard. I’ll always have a lot of love.”

I have been a fan of Celine Dion for so many years now.  There is something about her voice, there’s a magic about it.  Gives me chills every time I listen.

Anyhow, this gorgeous mother of three made her return to the Las Vegas stage this week and she looked amazing.  You’d never know she’s a 42 year old who gave birth to twins only five weeks ago!

Singing songs like My Heart Will Go On and It’s All Coming Back to Me Now, on Tuesday night at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Celine owned it once again.

“From Michael Jackson to James Bond to ‘Mr. Paganini,’ it’s so different, and it’s so classy, and it’s fun,” Dion said before the show. “Different flavor. Different colors of music.”

I am dying to see this show.  I will be making it a point to see it with my bestie this year.  Yes, big plans. Celine is a gem. Congrats on the welcome home!

How cute are Celine Dion’s twin babies? The Canadian songstress Celine, 42,  is back in Las Vegas where she starts rehearsals for her new show that is set to debut March 15 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Celine is holding her son Nelson Angelil while her husband and manager Rene Angelil, 69, is holding baby Eddy. To Rene’s left is their son Rene-Charles Angelil, 10. The little bundles of joy were born October 23, 2010 making them less than 4 months old.

Canadian songstress Celine Dion has been hospitalized in Florida to prevent the early birth of her twins her rep has confirmed. She is due to give birth to the twins early next month and keeping her in the hospital now makes her good and close to the doctors should they try to make an early entrance into the world:

“Ms. Céline Dion has been admitted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida for observation at the recommendation of her doctors. She has been admitted to prevent the early delivery of her babies, which is the standard of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in this clinical setting.”

Celine has been very open about her difficulty in conceiving in the past.  Nine year old Rene Charles will be a big brother to two little boys in the very near future!

Celine Dion Is Returning To Las Vegas

In case you missed Celine Dion in Las Vegas when she had her stint from 2003 to 2007, or her Taking Chances World Tour that ended in 2009, you will get a chance starting in 2011.

Celine has just signed a multi-million dollar three year deal to return to Caesars Palace.  The concert kicks off on March 15, 2011 with Celine doing 70 shows a year.  Says her husband (and manager) Rene Angelil:

“We’re very happy to return to the Las Vegas stage. The schedule will be human for Celine, to avoid tiring her out. This second show in Las Vegas will be as amazing as the first adventure, with A New Day…”

Celine is also featured on the cover of People this week talking about her heartbreak of not being able to conceive.  She has had four failed attempts at invitro fertilization:

“I’m going to try until it works” Five’s my lucky number,” she adds, “so this is the time it’s got to [work].”

Rumours are circulating that Celine Dion is pregnant with her second child.   The 41 year old Canadian songstress had difficulty conceiving and as a result put some eggs on ice for future babies (that sounded almost shallow, but not meant as such).  This decision was also impacted by her husband’s battle with cancer.

Congratulations (if this is true) to Celine and her hubby, Rene Angelil.

Celine Dion received an honourary doctorate from Quebec’s Laval University.  The singer is due to give a free concert on Friday in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the city.  Paul McCartney gave a free concert there last month.

Although Celine never finished high school, she encourages students to attain higher education.  But also acknowledged “the school of life is also very important”.
