Yesterday Christie Brinkley appeared on the Today Show where she broke down in tears to Matt Lauer discussing her issues with ex-husband Peter Cook claiming that he tries to destroy any happiness she has. The two apparently have a 'no-contact' rule and she claims that he continually contacts her, which is part of the problem.  The video of the interview can be found at TooFab.

Well Peter is hitting back claiming crocodile tears:

“Christie was entirely dishonest about the circumstances surrounding the current court action which was precipitated by her and . . . is doing further damage to our children . . . I am also shocked by the blatant lies she told regarding our divorce proceedings of four years ago, including denying the indisputable fact that she fought for an open courtroom despite the warnings it would harm our children.” He fumed she, “will stop at nothing to continue the drama in our lives in order to harass me and keep herself relevant in the media.” He rails at the accusation that he’s a “deadbeat dad,” saying. “[She] does not want peace, she wants attention.” He concludes Brinkley still wants revenge on him for cheating with Diana Bianchi, adding: “Clearly, Christie does not believe I was punished enough four years ago for my indiscretions in our marriage, but for the sake of our children I wish she would find a way to move on.”

You know, I can't stand Peter and what he did to her, however there are always 3 sides to a story. I try to maintain that (although it's not always easy and I'm not always successful) but I have to wonder if there is truth to what he's saying. 

Regardless of who is telling the truth, these two should just STFU and put their kids first. Who do you believe, Christie or Peter?

Christie Brinkley filed for divorce from ex-husband Peter Cook in 2008 after he was caught having an affair with an 18 year old employee of his and four years later he is slamming the former super model by claiming she's a:

“narcissistic egomaniac” and is  “far more concerned with the mirror than our children.”

She is clearly one of the most beautiful women in the world, and he is clearly a huge douche, but I don't doubt that claim to a point. She has always impressed me as being someone living in her own little Christie-town world. I remember YEARS ago her coming out saying something to the effect 'I've never had a bad day in my life' and it struck me as odd because I doubt it's hardly true so why would you paint your life as perfect. Nobody's life is perfect.

He goes on to say that she is 'faded':

“Her Billy Joel Uptown Girl music video fame faded long ago and the only thing left for her to garner media attention is to continue to publicize the tawdry details of her ‘nasty divorce’ from her fourth failed marriage,”

If you're wondering why all of a sudden he's lashing out at her it's because she has accused him of 'intimidating' her and continuing a smear campaign against her. This after he filed a 91 page document on February 24 claiming she owes him money. He's claiming he's a great dad and looked after them while she did her stint on Broadway.

The couple have one biological child from their marriage (Sailor who is now 13) and he adopted her son Jack who is now 16 from marriage number 3 to Richard Taubman. And of course she has a 26 year old daughter Alexa Joel from her marriage to Billy Joel.

One would think if either of them is the great parent they claim to be they'd shut the hell up in the public forum about their marital issues.

More importantly I would give a limb to find out the name of her plastic surgeon and the procedures she's had. Just sayin.

Day 10 of the U.S. Open (yesterday) saw the Canadian Great One Wayne Gretzky and his gorgeous wife Janet Jones Gretzky (who clearly dresses Wayne), take in the match between Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark v Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in New York.

Also taking in that match were David Duchovny and his wife Tea Leoni, Oprah’s BFF Gayle King, music mogul Clive Davis, Rick Fox and Donald and Melania Trump.

Day 11 of the U.S. Open featured the men’s quarter finals at the USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, Queens where Christie Brinkley flashed her model smile while John McEnroe looked as happy as the guy is probably capable of. Also Ralph Macchio was on the sidelines looking more like security detail than tennis enthusiast.

Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Ashley Greene, Kelly Ripa, Christie Brinkley, Matthew Settle, Rachel Zoe and lots of other celebrities attended the annual Super Saturday 13 designer auction to Benefit Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

The event was  hosted by InStyle Magazine at Nova’s Ark Project in Water Mill, New York. QVC streamed the event live in case like me your invitation was ‘lost’ in the mail.

I would give up a kidney to get to go to this annual event and then when I saw that Mark Feuerstein was there, I would have totally thrown in a lung.

Christie Brinkley looks very ‘refreshed’ and by refreshed I mean perhaps those rumours of her hitting the plastic surgeon may very well be true.  As TMZ would ask: good genes or good docs? Meow.

Alexa Ray Joel will follow in mom Christie Brinkley’s footsteps by appearing in Prell shampoo ads, but the difference is (and the only reason she agreed to do it) the commercials will feature her music.  Says Alexa:

“I am so excited and honored to be named the new face of Prell — especially following in the footsteps of my mother, who was a Prell girl.”

The shampoo, originally introduced by Proctor & Gamble featured Christie Brinkley in 1986 (the sound is a bit wonky but what do you expect from something almost 25 years old):

Alexa’s rep says:

“This is Alexa’s first ad campaign. It is for print and TV for spring and summer. We will also shoot a fall campaign.”

Christie Brinkley (and her daughter Alexa Ray Joel) attending the Wayuu Taya fundraising gala in New York  last night hosted by Donna Karan and Patricia Velasquez.  The organization’s goal:

The Wayúu Tayá Foundation is a nonprofit organization created in 2002 to help improve the lives of Latin-American indigenous people while
maintaining and respecting their traditions, culture and beliefs.

Also attending:  Padma Lakshmi, Nate Burkus, Noemie Lenior, Russell Simmons and Jennifer Esposito.  Jennifer used to be married to Bradley Cooper and starred with Christina Applegate in Samantha Who?

At the event last night, Christie Brinkley said to Access Hollywood of her ex-husband’s split from his current wife of 5 years, Katie Lee Joel:

“My heart goes out to them,” “It’s sad news, but Billy is a great dad and a great friend, so of course, I wish him the best.”

Their daughter together, Alexa Ray said:

“This is old news for me,” “I heard this a while ago. I was the first to know. OK, I’m his daughter, but you know what? I’m completely supportive of my father and very protective of him… I’m behind him 100%. So I’m just there for him right now.”

I haven’t had breakfast yet and now I’ve gone and lost my appetite.  Add Peter Cook to the list of celebs (in his case pseudo-celeb) who have a sex video.

PageSix confirms that they have seen the stills from this video and it gets better:  his teenage lover, Diana Bianchi, was unaware the tape was made.  What a stellar stand-up kind of guy, right?  The video was shot at his architectual office and shows them in the heat of the moment and also shows her performing a strip tease for him with him holding onto a certain body part of his own like a freak.

Bianchi’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said she may sue Cook over the video:

“We are now going to review, and begin weighing our legal options, for Diana,”

That’s pretty funny coming off of his 20/20 interview with Barbara Walters in which he tries to clear his name by telling people he’s not the monster they are making him out to be.  Call me crazy, but a decent guy wouldn’t do what he has done.

I don’t think there is anything this guy does that should surprise us.
