I guess it’s safe to assume Nicole Richie did not get married this weekend as she attended last night’s Opening Gala and unmasking of the Resnick Pavilion at LACMA (the Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Her dress looks cute on her. What do you think?

Christina Aguilera makes her acting debut playing a small-town girl with big dreams to make it big in Hollywood. She finds a club run by Cher‘s character and pleads with her to give her a chance in the burlesque club.

She blows them out of the water with her voice, because she’s Christina Aguilera bitches.  Stanley Tucci is also in this film and a number of other stars.

Christina Aguilera had a busy day yesterday in New York promoting her Bionic album. She appeared on David Letterman where she talked about her work with the World Food Program that took her to Haiti and she also performed You Lost Me.

In the evening she appeared at Avenue for the launch party of Bionic. She has said about the postponing of her tour:

“I’m such a perfectionist. I’m not doing something unless I give my all. I haven’t had time to think about the tour, what with the film.

“The tour is postponed. But it’s definitely going to happen. I was going crazy trying to figure out what the set list was and it felt too rushed, too soon. There wasn’t enough time to prepare the kind of show I like to put on – which is my very best.

“I knew we wouldn’t have the time to do it so the biggest, better Bionic tour will be next year, when we do have time.”

Christina Aguilera explains how husband Jordan Bratman makes her feel comforted:

“Jordan is just that guy that walks into a room and he can really make me smile. That’s how I started falling in love with him. He just had this essence of comfort. He is and continues to be my biggest fan, and just such a number one supporter. He’s a great man. I’m lucky to have him.”

She’s also very comfortable in her sexuality and explains how she reconciles it to being a mother and wife:

“There’s two different hats for me. Sexuality to me, it’s really nothing to be ashamed of. I feel like there’s so many labels put upon women. Everyone has their own comfort zone with what that means for them.

“Being a mum and being an artist that expresses myself are two very different things for me, they’re two very different hats that I wear. Do I lessen anything because I’m either married or have a child? No. Because it’s all about self-expression and being an artist. It’s so important to me. I’m not just a singer. I’m an artist who gets visually inspired and collects art.”

She’s not too worried about discussing it with her son when he starts asking questions:

“Eventually he’s going to get to that age where he’s going to have his own opinions about it, and I’ll be open to hearing them. And he’s going to hear the reasons why I chose to do the things that I did. And I take pride in that. What does Ozzy Osbourne say when he explains to his kids eating the heads off bats?“

Christina Aguilera started her Mother’s Day weekend early by having lunch at an Italian restaurant in New York with her mom.  Then she and her little man Max headed to the Scholastic store in SoHo.

She is also pictured at her hotel surrounded by paparazzi ahead of her performance on the Oprah Winfrey show. Apparently Oprah is in New York celebrating the 10th anniversary of her magazine at Radio City.

Christina has been named the United Nations ambassador for the World Food Program and told Oprah:

“A child dies every six seconds of hunger, which was a huge statistic for me and one that, after having my own child, I was like, ‘I have to be a part of this, do my part in some way,

“We just helped deliver food,” she said. “I visit orphanages and the schools there and try to do my part to help.”

She also explained the inspiration behind her new album ‘Bionic‘:

“As women, our bodies go through such amazing things and we are superhuman,” she told Winfrey. “We give life, we give birth, we are our child’s source of everything. Our bodies are not our own for a time period, and we givingly and willingly do so for our child. But then when we get them back, you feel that much stronger.

“I think it’s pretty superhuman, and that’s where the inspiration for Bionic came from.”

Christina Aguilera told Access Hollywood that motherhood won’t stop the sexy and wants 2 year old son Max to grow up with a healthy respect for sexuality:

“He’s going to grow up in a household where he knows mommy expresses herself artistically and some of that will have to reflect itself sexually too at times. He’s going to learn to respect the fact that women are allowed to express themselves and not feel shameful about their bodies or their sexuality.”

She actually feels even more sexual since having a child than before:

“I’m more confident and comfortable in my own skin. I think I’m even a more sexual Christina. I think it’s important that he sees mommy not be ashamed of her sexuality. I mean, he’s two. We’re art collectors, there are a lot of female nudes around the house. Max will be growing up in a house where it’s just the norm… It’s only weird when you shame it.”

This really comes out in her sexy video for her single Not Myself Tonight.  Christina is BACK! Do you love this song? I LOVE this woman.

Christina Aguilera works it while she films scenes for her upcoming movie Burlesque on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.  Christina co-stars with, among other stars, Cher who has had high praise for Christina:

“I’m shocked but she’s really good. The other day we were hamming it up so badly, so old, like vaudevillian. She was keeping up! She was hot. Her game is good

In between takes Christina looks like she could use some sleep.  Maybe she had a wild Valentine’s Day weekend?
