Tribeca Film just sent us these clips from Tony Kaye’s Detachment. To be fair, they’ve been floating around the interwebz for a long time but since a. we’ve been talking about Detachment anyway for a long time b. they’re both so short,  I hadn’t posted them.

I’m showing them to you now because a. I adore Adrien Brody b. I’m a big fan of Tony Kaye’s American History X c. because we've been talking about the movie for so long. I think it looks good, there’s a lot of talent involved here and I’d love to see a small little movie like this one gain an audience. It’s going to be difficult because as much as I talk about it and as many home options as there are, it’ll still be tough to find. VOD doesn’t really advertise except for the latest blockbuster you already knew about.

Detachment is going to theaters starting on March 16, but it won’t play everywhere. It might be worth searching out. Just sayin’.

The movie stars stars Academy Award® winner Adrien Brody as Henry Barthes, a substitute teacher who conveniently avoids any emotional connections by never staying anywhere long enough to form a bond with either his students or colleagues.  A lost soul grappling with a troubled past, Henry finds himself at a public school where an apathetic student body has created a frustrated, burned-out administration.  Inadvertently becoming a role model to his students, while also bonding with a runaway teen who is just as lost as he is, Henry finds that he’s not alone in a life and death struggle to find beauty in a seemingly vicious and loveless world. 

Kaye has molded a contemporary vision of people who become increasingly distant from others while still feeling the need to connect. DETACHMENT features a stellar ensemble cast, including Academy Award® winner Marcia Gay Harden, Christina Hendricks, William Petersen, Bryan Cranston, Tim Blake Nelson, Lucy Liu, Blythe Danner, James Caan, and newcomers Sami Gayle and Betty Kaye

By the way, is it just me or does it seem like Brody is just not going to be buying what Christina Hendricks is selling? Enjoy.

We have some new images for Tony Kaye’s Detachment.  Rather than emphasizing star Adrien Brody, where the focus has been up to this point in the promotion, we get a look at some of the supporting players like Marcia Gay Harden and Christina Hendricks,  as well as Sami Gayle. (I hope Lucy Liu’s role warrants three of these pics. I think the photographer had a crush.)

A new domestic trailer for Tony Kaye’s Detachment has been released by Tribeca Films. I think you can tell the film is finally poised for release to theater by how much more accessible this one seems than the previous trailers. We not only get a better handle on who Adrien Brody’s character is but we get better glimpses of the supporting players. The cast has a lot of depth, it’s a good idea to let a potential audience get a peek at who’s involved here, including Marcia Gay Harden, Christina Hendricks and Bryan Cranston.

The new poster is a great match for this trailer. Brody looks like an island of calm in a sea of chaos. He is calm, but the calm, ‘detached’ façade is just that I suspect.

Pierce Brosnan braves the cold temperatures in Manhattan while on the set of his latest film I Don’t Know How She Does It.

This comedy is about: the life of Kate Reddy, a finance executive who is the breadwinner for her husband and two kids and is based on the novel of the same name written by Allison Pearson.

The cast is pretty kick-ass with Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks, Olivia Munn, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelsey Grammer, Greg Kinnear, Jane Curtin and Seth Myers.

The movie is set to be released in the spring of 2012 in which Sarah Jessica Parker plays the lead role.

You must admit, Pierce looks very handsome in these shots doesn’t he?

Can you imagine her landing that role? Mad Men star, Christina Hendricks has her eye on the same role it seems every female in Hollywood wants: Wonder Woman.  The name alone says it all.  Power.  Girl power that is.

Christina went on Rachael Ray and revealed her desire for the role,

“I’ve been wanting to wear that outfit my whole life! I’d love to [do it]. That would be such fun! Let’s put it out there!”

Guess what girl?  I don’t know a man out there who wouldn’t die to see you as Wonder Woman.  Oh I can see the lines to the theaters now…..

Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks Is London Fog’s New Face

Do I personally think that she fits the part?  She could…..perhaps if she put on the wig…. the red hair throws me off a bit.

Canadian cutie Ryan Gosling is on the set in Los Angeles filming scenes for his movie Drive which is about:

A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong

When I read that I thought hmmmm okay. That doesn’t sound all too exciting but this action/drama has a somewhat impressive cast that includes:  Carey Mulligan, Christina Hendricks, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman and Albert Brooks.

Either way it’s got Ryan Gosling who, by the way, turns 30 tomorrow!

Hendricks apparently wants to drop a total of 30 pounds.  That is certainly going to change her look altogether.  It’s those delicious curves that have given her the unique fame she’s living on today.  Yes, she’s a talented actress.  But that amazing physique is what makes her stand out.

It’s clear that Mad Men’s Jon Hamm, Elizabeth Moss, January Jones and Christina Hendricks have been photo shopped to creepy proportions has some are missing limbs as Melissa from Cover Awards points out:

It’s been brought to my attention that there’s been an overactive Photoshop wizard working there magic at Rolling Stone. Where’s January Jones’ hand? Morphed into Hamm’s tumbler? Where is Elisabeth Moss’ foot? It’s probably a blessing they were all cut and paste into that cab backseat, it looks crazy uncomfortable.

It does look uncomfortable! But I love, love, LOVE Elizabeth Moss’ dress.  She looks like quite the vixen with that look on her face.
