Chanel & Karl Lagerfeld Celebrate The Reopening Of The Chanel Boutique

Chanel & Karl Lagerfeld celebrate the re-opening of the Chanel Soho Boutique

Karl Lagerfeld cracked a smile (I think this is the first time I have ever seen him smile! Did you feel the earth move?) as he is front and centre at the reopening of the Chanel SoHo boutique with his muse and friend Diane Kruger.

Lots of celebrities are in town for the New York Fashion Week and stopped by to show their support for Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld:

Kate Hudson @ Chopard Gala in New York

The world must be coming to an end because I think Kate Hudson looks the best out of everyone.  Once I hit the ‘publish’ button I’m going to feel very bad for saying that. Blogger’s remorse. That colour on her is divine as is her hair and shoes.  It’s the whole package. Shoot me now.

Gwyneth Paltrow on the other hand concerns me.  My grandmother had a sofa with that fabric on it.  I like the cut of the dress but not the fabric.

These ladies attended last night’s gala where Chopard celebrates 150 years of excellence in New York.

Georgina Chapman looks beautiful (she’s the wife of Harvey Weinstein) and if you can believe it she is 5 months pregnant with a baby due in August.  I’m off to do some major stomach crunches.

Also at the event:  Claire Danes, Christina Ricci, and Eugenia Silva.

Zac Posen Launches His Target Collection

Zac Posen celebrated the launch of his Zac Posen For Target collection yesterday in New York where Claire Danes, Selma Blair and Parker Posey wore outfits which retail for $70, $80 and $60 respectively.  Doesn’t it make a lot of sense to make outfits and price them to appeal to the masses as opposed to ‘designer’ prices that fewer can afford?

I believe a few of his guests (if not all) are wearing his collection.  To see some other items from his collection you can view them here.

Also attending the celebration:

  • Olivia Palermo
  • Mena Suvari
  • Ginnifer Goodwin
  • Maggie Gyllenhaal
  • Michelle Trachtenberg
  • Kelly Bensimon

2010 BAFTAs [PHOTOS & Winner's List]

full_bafta_pressroom_06_wenn2748937

One of my favourite actresses Kate Winslet poses with Colin Firth (who I must say is growing on me in recent days) and it looks to be a mutual admiration society of these two.  Colin Firth won for Leading Actor in A Single Man.

Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker cleaned up at the BAFTAs with six wins including Best Picture and Director beating out ex-husband James Cameron for Avatar (which btw I saw it this weekend for the first time and it is as great as everyone says it is). Cameron has been very vocal about his support for his ex-wife which is fabulous. This, of course only adds to the Oscar buzz considering she has won a Producers Guild Award, Critics Choice Award, Writers Guild Award and a Director’s Guild Award in various categories for The Hurt Locker.

Also attending the BAFTAs:

  • Robert Pattinson
  • James Cameron
  • Vanessa Redgrave
  • Kristen Stewart
  • Claire Danes
  • Carey Mulligan
  • Joanathan Rhys Meyers
  • Anna Kendrick
  • Saoirse Ronan
  • Matt Dillon
  • Gabourey Sidibe
  • Tom Ford
  • Quentin Tarantino
  • Audrey Tautou
  • Kristin Scott Thomas
  • Mickey Rourke
  • Christoph Waltz
  • Vera Farmiga

Emily Blunt @BAFTA/LA Tea Party

wenn2713015

It was tea time for Emily Blunt and others as they attended the BAFTA/LA 16th Annual Awards Season Tea Party. This small, intimate invited only get together took place at the Beverly Hills hotel where everyone relaxed before tonight’s Golden Globe Awards.

The Golden Globes is probably one of my most favourite award shows because the atmosphere is very relaxed (could be the alcohol) and of course Ricky Gervais will be hosting and considering he says he hasn’t practised his hosting duties, this could be fun and highly inappropriate.  When I’m in an especially naughty mood, me loves inappropriate.

Attending the tea party:

  • Alison Brie
  • Talulah Riley
  • Olivia Williams
  • Claire Danes
  • Maggie Gyllenhaal
  • Anna Kendrick
  • Quentin Tarantino
  • Paul McCartney
  • Jane Fonda
  • Julianne Moore
  • Tom Ford
  • Helen Mirren
  • Amanda Righetti
  • Ben Foster
  • Gabourey Sidibe
  • Ed Westwick
  • Eli Roth
  • Kevin McHale
  • Jessica Szohr

and lots others.

Zac Efron & Claire Danes @ ‘Me and Orson Welles’ Screening

full_Me_and_Orson_Wells_1_wenn2669545

Claire Danes and Zac Efron are in New York at the screening of their movie ‘Me and Orson Welles‘  which is about:

A teenager is cast in the Mercury Theatre production of “Julius Caesar” directed by a young Orson Welles in 1937

Zac plays Richard Samuels and Claire plays Sonja Jones in the movie.  In one of the pictures it looks like Zac Efron is either blowing his nose into his hand or having a covert conversation with his palm.  Awkward photo moment.

I don’t know how Kanye West’s girlfriend Amber Rose fits into this screening, but she’s there.

2009 BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards [PHOTOS]

full_bafta_brittania_12_wenn2644944

Freida Pinto and Dev Patel pose as they attend the 18th Annual BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles last night .  Danny Boyle, the director of the movie they met on, Slumdog Millionaire, had no idea there were sparks between the two:

“I was a bit surprised at first, but then those things tend to pass me by!… I’m delighted for them, they seem to be real soulmates and I’m sure more than that. I’m very happy for them – it seems lovely.”

Danny received the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence last night. Other winners included  Colin Firth who won the Humanitarian Award, Emily Blunt the British Artist of the Year, Kirk Douglas the Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Filmed Entertainment and Robert De Niro picked up the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film.

Besides the winners, Claire Danes and Amy Adams attended and are pictured.
