Divorce papers have been finalized for Avril Laivigne and Deryck Whibley, finally.  They filed for divorce last October and it’s unclear why it took over a year for it to finalize.  It usually only takes six months and it’s not like they have kids or anything really complicated to deal with.

Anyhow, now Avril and Deryck are legally single…. free to move on.  Free to get some.  Oh wait!  That’s right.  Avril has been dirtying the sheets with Brody Jenner for months and Deryck has been romping around with random girls for a long time too.

Sum 41′s front man, and former husband of Avril Lavigne, Deryck Whibley has been hospitalized in Japan after being attacked by 3 people last night at a bar.  The extent of his injuries are not known but his band mates Tweeted:

“unfortunately still in the hospital” and his pals are “waiting for results and hoping for the best.”

The band is not having the best of luck with their singer coming down with a severe case of bronchitis that threatened to ruin his voice.

The band is in Japan for the Summer Sonic Festival this weekend in Osaka and Tokyo. It’s highly unlikely they will play.

We wish Deryck a speedy recovery.

US Magazine has the exclusive on the split up of Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley.   Keep in mind though, that this has not been confirmed by either rep at this time.  According to a ‘source’:

“She dumped him and told him she was leaving him. She wants to move on,” “Divorce papers will be filed any day now”

According to this source she forced him out of their $9.5 million, 12,000-square-foot estate in L.A.’s Bel Air.

Another source describes Deryck as crushed.  If this is true it is very sad.  However, the couple who have been married for three years, did get married very young and that is tough enough but in La La Land it seems almost impossible, doesn’t it?

The National Enquirer is reporting that Avril Lavigne and her husband Deryck Whibley are on the verge of splitting up.  If the National Enquirer is reporting it you know it must be true   According to the source the trouble began when Avril began her world tour and that the couple:

“have been growing apart for months”, adding, “Deryck isn’t motivated in his own career, so he’s been drinking and partying.”

The rumours were fuelled when Deryck was seen on October 2 cuddling and holding hands with a woman who wasn’t Lavigne.  The couple have been married since 2006.
