Testimony today in the Nicolette Sheridan lawsuit against Desperate Housewives' creator Marc Cherry and ABC was dealt a blow when former writer Lori Kirkland Baker took the stand and denied there had been a plan in place to kill of Sheridan's character Edie Britt all along. This testimony directly contradicts Cherry's who claimed her character wasn't killed off as retribution for a physical altercation that took place where he 'allegedly' bitch-slapped Sheridan. He's saying the plan was in place all along since May 22, 2008.

Baker wrote for the show from 2007 to 2009 (earning $648,000 per season) and she left the show as she was allegedly mistreated by Cherry. Methinks there is a pattern here. She claimed the kill order came on December 3:

"It started with Marc coming in quickly and asking the assistants to leave … and telling staff that he had just gotten permission from (ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson) to kill off Edie Britt," 

Baker was intimately involved in writing for the show and in particular Edie's character so if anyone is going to know the 'when' of her demise, one would think it would be her, right? As well she has a lot to lose by testifying against Cherry and ABC doesn't she? So does Nicolette. Unless these women are insane, or incredibly vindictive, one would have to conclude they are telling the truth and want to see justice.

It takes big cahoney's to stand up against powerful people when the majority are going to suck up to them regardless of the truth.

Baker further stated that executive producer John Pardee also confirmed the December finalization of the character's demise. The December timeframe is two months after the physical altercation took place.

Sheridan filed her $6 million lawsuit in April 2010.

You have to wonder if the truth (whatever it may be) will ever come out?

It’s hard to believe that Desperate Housewives will be going off the air forever after this season which marks Season 8 of the long-running ABC series.

In true fashion, the promo shots for the final season are nothing shy of glamorous! Eva Longoria 36, Marcia Cross 49, Felicity Huffman 48, Teri Hatcher 46 and Vanessa Williams 48 are perhaps ‘made up’ to the hills and maybe even a little photoshopped but the ladies look divine and why not go out with a bang?

And don’t forget that Nicolette Sheridan (who played Edie Britt and is suing producer Marc Cherry in real life) will be returning to the final season. It’s not known if she will be filming new segments or if they will be reusing old ones.

The new season premieres Sunday September 25 9/8 c.

Nicolette Sheridan 47, who was fired from and is suing Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry for $20 MILLION  is supposed to be making an explosive appearance in the series finale.

Nicolette was fired back in 2009 (and her character Eddie Britt was killed off) and in turn sued Marc for wrongful dismissal, but Marc is looking for a way to integrate her character back into the show’s finale. He said:

” I have an idea for the last episode where I want to pay homage to everyone who has been there before, been on the show.”

It is unknown if she will be filming new footage or they will use unseen footage.

Although her trial for wrongful dismissal is going to be hitting the courts in October, it is believed an out-of-court settlement will take place beforehand.

Didn’t see this one coming, but you can never say never, right?

Desperate Housewives’ Ricardo Chavira was charged with DUI this morning in Los Angeles. He was pulled over on a routine check at 2 a.m. and the cops smelled alcohol. Gee. Sounds familiar. He was given sobriety tests at the scene that he failed and refused to take a blood test or a breath test.

The 39 year old actor plays the husband of Eva Longoria’s character on the show, Carlos Solis. Last update was he was being held on $25,000 bail. I’m pretty certain his cast mates can come up with the cash to bail him out.

But she just won’t say so.  Former Desperate Housewife, Nicolette Sheridan has removed claims of physical and mental abuse in her $20 million lawsuit against her former employer, Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.  Well that’s odd now isn’t it?  If what she said about Cherry on September 24, 2008, that he “took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hands across her face and head.” were true, then would she be dropping that part of the case?  I would think not.

The defense has agreed to drop its request for Sheridan to submit to physical and psychological evaluations, which I suppose could be the reason she dropped hers…. because she didn’t want to be evaluated?  Does she have something to hide?

Anyhow, the case isn’t closed yet.  Sheridan still has the right to pursue lost wages, benefits and other financial compensation.  I am guessing she will still go for those.

Sometimes those divas just don’t know when to go away.

Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria are on the set of Desperate Housewives in Toluca Lake filming their scenes with two of life’s most important things: kick-ass shoes and a sweet lovable dog.  I suppose water and air are somewhere up there but whatever.

I must have Eva Longoria’s shoes. Or that dog. I will take either. I could totally arm-wrestle her.

Nineteen months after giving birth to Eden and Savannah, Marcia Cross and husband, Tom Mahoney are eager for a third child (a boy) and are considering adoption.  Being 46 she feels it is unlikely she could conceive again and tells OK! Magazine:

“I would always adopt. I feel like time is the issue for me.”

The new season picks up in 2013.  And while Eva Longoria’s character was supposed to have gained weight, she’s looking pretty hot in the promo.

And despite rumors that Nicolette Sheridan is going to be axed from the show, that isn’t the case at all.

I can’t wait to see how they do this show, and I’m really looking forward to seeing Teri Hatcher’s new husband.  He looks freaking hot!!!
