Girls with Guns: New Trailer and TV Spot for G.I.Joe: Retaliation!

Girls with Guns: New Trailer and TV Spot for G.I.Joe: Retaliation!

The new tv spot for G.I. Joe: Retaliation was set to air during yesterday’s Daytona 500, which was rained out. That didn’t stop it from winding its way to the web, however. So, of course, we had to share.  The film, the sequel to 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is directed by Jon M. Chu from a script by Zombieland’s Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Channing Tatum, Ray Park, and Lee Byung-hun return for another round  where they will be joined by Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Adrianne Palicki, Elodie Yung, Ray Stevenson, RZA, D.J. Cotrona, and Walton Goggins.

The story is simple: When Cobra spy Zartan has most of the Joes assassinated, the remaining Joes band together to strike back.

TV spot:

This 3rd Trailer features mostly  footage that we’ve already seen, but with a few new snippets, including more of Bruce Willis as the original Joe, doing what he does best…smirking:

“Call me Joe.”  Is that like, “Call me Snake” or “…call me Irresponsible”?  Either way, this looks like too much fun.  The first one, I have to admit looked like novacaine for the brain, but this has potential, thanks in no small part to Dwayne… “The Rock”… Johnson.  He’s a party unto himself, Every time he smiles I expect to see a flash of cartoon sunlight gleaming from his teeth, just before he winks at the camera. Since  he’s always in on the joke, I can only assume that this big cartoon adventure of a movie will be highly entertaining, not to mention I am loving all of the ninja assassin effects, especially that fight on the side of the mountain! We’ll see. G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens in the UK on 22nd June and then June 29 in the US.

La Roche et Bruce Willis dans la premiere video pour GI Joe 2

La Roche avec Bruce Willis Dans la Caravane Fran

"Les GI Joes no sont plus"

It’s just goodies, goodies, goodies this week. We just got a new Super Bowl tv spot for GI Joe: Retaliation, that was very cool, and now we’ve got this international trailer along with a new still to pass along.

Channing Tatum is back for more, if only briefly (I’m guessing here, not spoiling), along with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (whose character name is Roadblock. I love that. Looking at the pic above, it certainly seems apt.), Bruce Willis, Adrianne Palicki, Elodie Yung, Ray Stevenson, RZA, D.J. Cotrona,Walton Goggins (YAY!) and Jonathan Pryce, who gets the best line from the new trailer: “Cool mask!”

I keep forgetting that Ray Stevenson is in this! One more reason to look forward to it. I didn’t see the original but this does look like big loud explosive, mindless summer fun. I have to say that I think the use of The Glitch Mob’s remix of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” under these trailers is an inspired choice. GI Joe: Retaliation opens in the UK on June 22 and in the US on June 29. That’s still four months away so I look forward to more goodies between now and then.

INMF Trailer Park: Big Loud Super Bowl Edition!

Posters: The Avengers, Mirror Mirror, Innkeepers, Friends with Kids, Silent House, Prometheus

Three great big huge movies coming at you this year got great big huge ad exposure during the (arguably) greatest, biggest, hugest television event of the year: The Super Bowl.

First up, The Avengers, which opens May 4.  Marvel is hoping that, along with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, the world still believes in heroes.  Since this is the extended edition, you get the bit at the end with Loki and Iron Man. Love love love Robert Downey Jr.’s deadpan line reading. “We have a Hulk” (Hulk need love too! He’s not been in nearly enough of the marketing thus far, so this is a nice change.)

Avengers (extended) “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”

Peter Berg, a director capable of some subtlety (Friday Night Lights) has crafted what appears to be a big and loud and (probably) dumb blockbuster. If the special effects are as good as they appear in the trailer, it will probably earn the equivalent of the GNP of a small third-world country. Hopefully, at least for Universal, audiences should be enough in love with Taylor Kitsch after March's John Carter. Battleship opens May 18.

Battleship

It’s clear by now that Dwayne, The Rock, Johnson is the star of GI Joe: Retaliation and that Channing Tatum buys it early on. (Or at least we’re made to THINK he does – until they bring him back for the 3rd installment. Yeah, I’m cynical like that.) Whatever else is going on here, ya gotta love that The Rock is quoting Jay Z and it ends with Bruce Willis’ “Call me Joe”.  GI Joe: Retaliation opens June 29

The Rock Introduces New Trailer for Journey 2 + We Have Pics!

The Rock Introduces New Trailer for Journey 2 + We Have Pics!

New Line has released a new trailer and whole gaggle of new pics for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Josh “Just Wait Until The Hunger Games” Hutcherson and Vanessa “I Used to Be Zac Efron’s Girlfriend” Hudgens.

I realize I’m probably not the target demographic for this movie but whenever I see Johnson riding on a giant bee, I’m immediately transported to the world of Sid and Marty Croft of H.R. Pufenstuff, Lidsville, Sigmund and the Sea Monster and The Bugaloos fame, but more importantly, the Land of the Lost fame. Not the dreadful theatrical film with Will Ferrell, the delightfully cheesy Saturday morning show that mixed live-action, rudimentary green screens and the lamest monsters ever, the Sleestax. I guarantee they spent a fraction on those special effects of what has been spent on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

“Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” begins when young Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist.  It’s a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret.

Unable to stop him from going, Sean’s new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), joins the quest.  Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

“Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” is directed by Brad Peyton (“Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore”).  It also stars Michael Caine as Sean’s grandfather, Alexander Anderson, and Kristin Davis as Sean’s mom, Liz Anderson.”

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island begins expeditions February 10th in the US, Canada and the UK. Hopefully it will answer the question, "Where exactly is 'the deadliest part of the ocean'?"

Enjoy the trailer and the bazillion new pics as well.

First Trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation Smacks You Upside the Head and Demands Attention!

First Trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation Smacks You Upside the Head and Demands Attention!

“The world ain’t savin’ itself”

Paramount has dropped the first full trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, courtesy of Machinima. I admit I did not see G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (I don’t even know what that means) and from all accounts, I didn’t miss anything . Expectations have been at once higher for the sequel  and a little trepidatious at the same time. This time out, The G.I. Joe team faces off against Zartan (Arnold Vosloo), his accomplices, and the world leaders he has under his influence. (Although if they’re going to be doing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Ninja swordfights on the side of a mountain, does the plot really matter?!) I’m not sure what made anyone think that Jon Chu of Step Up 2, 3 (and now 4) and the Justin Bieber doc fame could do this, unless it was his action sequences are filmed like dance routines. The writers of Zombieland (which was better than it had any right to be) Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the screenplay.

While I’m still not sold on the idea of a feature length motion picture based on a toy (especially when every single one of them seems to use the name and nothing else – I’m looking at you Battleship ), this one is at least produced by the toy company, Hasbro, responsible, and The Rock is just so damn likeable. Maybe it’s because there’s always a twinkle in his eye, no matter what piece of dreck he’s in or ridiculous line he’s been made to utter, as if he’s in on the joke and is *this* close to winking at the camera.

Holy crap is that Ray Stevenson I see? Excellent! Let’s hope he’s not been made to look ridiculous like he was in Thor.  (We won’t even discuss the other film from 2011 in which he appeared. The whole thing was ridiculous *coughThreeMusketeerscough*)

And F**kin’ ‘ell, it’s Bruce Willis to the rescue!  I’m in!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation stars Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum-tot, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson, Arnold Vosloo , Joseph Mazzello, Walton Goggins (yay!), Elodie Yung, Jonathan Pryce, RZA and Bruce Willis. It blasts its way into theaters  22nd June in the UK and June 29 in the US and Canada. (sayyyy…what gives?)

Four Character Posters + International Trailer for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

Four Character Posters + International Trailer for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

New Line has released four new posters for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. They are testimonials to the wonders of Photoshop, if nothing else. Vanessa Hudgens if certainly defying death with that one handed rope thing. The Rock looks like, well, like The Rock and we totally believe he could leap over ginormous eggs in a single bound. (The UK poster is below. The eggs look more like rocks. So The Rock is leaping over rocks.) Directed by Brad Peyton (Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore), Journey 2: The Mysterious Island stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (he will forever be “The Rock”. He needs to accept that), Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, Luis Guzman, Vanessa Hudgens and Kristen Davis.

The UK trailer gives us a bit more footage and a little more insight into the story (because the domestic trailer was totally confusing *eyeroll*).

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island begins expeditions February 10th in the US, Canada and the UK. Hopefully it will answer the question, "Where exactly is 'the deadliest part of the ocean'?"

Watch the New International Trailer for Journey 2 – The Mysterious Island

Watch the New International Trailer for Journey 2 - The Mysterious Island

Journey 2 – The Mysterious Island is not a new album by a tribute band for a legendary 70’s era rock group,  nor is it one of those movies about a group of pets trying to find their way home after being inexplicably dumped in the middle of nowhere. No, it’s the sequel to that Brendan Fraser classic from 2008, Journey to the Center of the Earth. (Because that one was just crying out for a sequel.)

I must admit, there was a teaser trailer out for this film about a week ago, but it was so ridiculous I couldn’t bring myself to post it. This one is much less cheesy and seems to have taken the comedy, whether intended or otherwise, out of it. I still predict the whole thing will be more cheese-tastic than Philly’s official sandwich, but I could be wrong. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson can do comedy. He’s always so unexpectedly hilarious on SNL and even managed to make The Game Plan watchable, but he can’t be expected to work miracles. And do not be fooled by Michael Caine’s presence. After Jaws 4: The Revenge, all bets are off. (Probably should have been with The Swarm, but what can I say, I was young.)

The synopsis: Young adventurer Sean receives a distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist — a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret, so he partners with his mom's boyfriend on a mission to find his grandfather, who is thought to be missing on the mythical island.

Journey 2 – The Mysterious Island stars, along with Johnson and Caine, Josh Hutcherson (soon to be seen in The Hunger Games) reprising his role as Sean, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzman and Kristen Davis. It opens February 10 (officially making February the new January.)

Bruce Willis Confirmed For G.I. Joe Movie

Dwayne Johnson Confirms Bruce Willis For G.I. Joe Movie

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson confirmed via twitter that Bruce Willis has joined the cast of the G.I. Joe movie: G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation:

Bruce Willis Confirmed For G.I. Joe Movie

It was rumored that Bruce Willis wanted the role of General Joe Colton which according to CinemaBlend, is the first G.I. Joe. Dwayne Johnson plays ‘Roadblock’ which is a perfect character name for this big lug of a hunky man.

Jon M. Chu (he directed Justin Bieber’s ‘Never Say Never’ documentary) is directing this one which also stars Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki and others.

As someone with girl parts I’m not familiar with the G.I. Joe story line at all but I am liking the cast.
