It's April 2, 2012 and that puts us at Week 3 on Dancing With The Stars with tonight's dance theme inspired by 'The Most Memorable Time of My Life'. In other words get your tissues out. They will be able to dance any style they want. Let's hope William Levy's is sexy, Latin and topless!
Tomorrow's guests include Seal and country vocal group Rascal Flatts and will also see the return of the incredible Macy's Stars of Dance featuring Kenny Wormald, Twitch, Travis Wall and more.
We saw tennis legend Martina Navratilova eliminated from the ballroom last week. Did you watch? What did you think?
We are updating this post live so make sure to refresh regularly and we'll include colorful commentary along with all the scores. And if you like head on over to Twitter where we always have a great time.
Check this post I just did about Jaleel White freaking out on Kym Johnson earlier today. They looked 'strained' and if I were Kym I would be smiling at the camera and saying to him under by breath 'get your f*cking hands off me'. If the allegations are true that is.
Jack Wagner & Anna Trebunskaya – Samba – I just knew his personal story would be about his daughter. It's such a lovely story. I don't care for his dancing to be honest. He can't move his hips in a sexy way and I'm not sure why the hell they would choose the Samba but it's their choice, right? The judges loved his dance but I just thought it was mediocre. Len took happy pills so maybe he stole them from me and I'm turning into a crusty man. hehe. Scores: 8/8/8 = 24/30.
Maria Menounos & Derek Hough – Rumba – Her most memorable year was 1988 when her family came to America (Boston) and how hard her family worked to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Because they couldn't afford a babysitter the kids had to join the parents at work. What an amazing story. How can you not be in major awe of Maria given she has been dancing with 2 broken (?) ribs? She is so elegant and is really coming along in her dancing. What a lovely dance. Scores: 9/9/9 = 27/30.
Gladys Knight & Tristan McManus – Foxtrot – Her most memorable year was 1957 when she was on her first Gladys Knight and The Pips tour. She was SO young and she learned so much. She is such a legend!!! I really think that DWTS should feel so honored to have her on their stage. And Tristan is SO handsome I could eat him up. She is amazing. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her and she is just loving this dance to 'Cupid' by her friend the late Sam Cook. Scores: 8/8/8 = 24/30.
Roshon Fagan & Chelsie Hightower – Samba – His most memorable year was 1996 when he saw the late Michael Jackson on TV. Chelsie had MJ's choreographer Travis Payne come into the studio to help them out. Omg he really gave you the Jackson 5 vibe with his outfit and moves! He is totally in his element when he's dancing. His performance is so tight and he makes it look so easy! Scores: 8/8/9 = 25/30.
Gavin DeGraw & Karina Smirnoff – Rumba – His best year was 1998 when he moved to New York after having seen a Billy Joel concert and he realized that was what he wanted to do. His father used to go door-to-door to try to get his son gigs. What an incredible family and story. They looked really into the mood of the dance. His form seemed really good and he was loving this dance. Scores: 8/8/8 = 24/30.
Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas – Waltz – Her most memorable year was 1996 when her family found out her father had lung cancer. Her father had gone into a coma. She was taken out of school to be rushed to his side where she got to say good bye to him. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Major respect to this lady. I can barely see typing because I have so many tears in my eyes. She will reduce the audience to tears. She dances with such soul that you can't take your eyes off of her. She chose Josh Groban's To Where You Are because it reminded her so much of what she thinks of her father. Scores: 10/9/10 = 29/30. The first 10's of the season!!!!
Sherri Shepherd & Val Chmerkovskiy – Rumba – Her most memorable moment was when her son Jeffrey was born prematurely weighing only 1 lb 10 oz. Wow, that is incredible. Her son is adorable. She is so serious in this dance (understandably) it's just not the 'Sherri' we normally see. She did amazingly well. Scores: 8/8/8 = 24/30.
Melissa Gilbert & Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Jive – Her most memorable year was 2010 when she had surgery that required her to use a walker because she broke her back. The thought of a broken back makes me cringe it SOUNDS painful. Personally I don't know how she is able to dance with those ginormous flotation devices. I think I saw a different dance than the judges because to me it looked like she messed a lot of steps and her posture wasn't very good. Am I the only one who thinks that? Scores: 8/8/8 = 24/30.
Jaleel White & Kym Johnson – Rumba – Aside from the Latin heartthrob for obvious reasons, this is the dance I really wanted to see tonight because of my earlier post that I mentioned at the top of this post. They didn't show any of the reported altercation that occurred earlier. if it did in fact happen my hat's off to her for having to touch him because I would want to spit in his face (I'm not very forgiving when it comes to arrogant bastids nor can I pretend that easily and I'm not saying anything disrespectful toward Kym). The dance is amazing but that's because of Kym not him. But then again I'm not being objective because I don't respect someone like him. Scores: 9/8/8 = 25/30.
William Levy & Cheryl Burke – Salsa – 1995 was his most memorable year because it was when his family left Cuba to come to America. He was so happy he could eat apples when he was at his Uncle's house. Can you imagine? We take so many things for granted. This is a perfect choice for him. Do you see those hips move?? And YES the shirt is open. That's how mommy likes it and that's how it's done! Scores: 9/9/10 = 28/30.
Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd – Rumba – His most memorable year was 2010 when his best friend died in his arms. he chose Mariah Carey's One Sweet Day to dance to. His advice to people: live life to the fullest. I think he is such a fine gentleman and amazing soul. I just think the world of him. Their dance is so beautiful and soulful. He really is amazing. Scores: 9/8/9 = 26/30.
Who was your favorite performer tonight? Who do you think is going home tomorrow night?
