The Bachelorette’s Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski have split. I think given the track record of contestants on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette no one is surprised by this news.  Perhaps people are surprised it lasted as long as it did. Jillian told US Magazine:

“I love him and I’m really sad, but I have to look out for me”

Ed also spoke to the magazine:

“We’re both kind of resetting. Jillian isn’t happy and I’m definitely sad about the whole thing, but we’ve got to work through some things on our own if we decide to move forward.”

Early on after their engagement on the show rumours were swirling that during the filming of the show, Ed was juggling two babes back home and even slept with one of them after the engagement.  Jillian defended him and carried on appearing not to be bothered by the news.

Nothing like setting the bar real low.

After last night’s season premiere of Dancing With The Stars, some of the stars and dancers (and a few others) attended the gifting suite to honour the 10^th Season of the show where they posed with various pieces of merchandise.  *sigh* This is my dream.  To walk into a room and be told ‘pick anything you want and it’s free’.

Besides Chelsie Hightower and her partner Jake Pavelka, his incorrect choice in ‘fiancee’ (notice the quotes) Vienna Girardi attended as did another Bachelorette Jillian Harris and her douchebag of a fiancé Ed Swiderski.  It’s so early in the  day to have such a potty-mouth isn’t it?

Former DWTS’ alumni Marlee Matlin and Joanna Krupa attended too as did professional dancer Julianne Hough.  I really miss Julianne on the show and Lacey Schwimmer as well.  Maybe next year?  We can only hope.

When I first saw his picture I thought to myself  ‘I know him’ but couldn’t for the life of me figure out from where.  And then I read that it’s Reid Rosenthal from The Bachelorette!!

I do wonder if Jillian Harris didn’t choose him because he didn’t tell her what she wanted to hear in terms of her insanely unreasonable timeline of falling in love and getting engaged.  She just seemed so bent on that timeframe and getting a ring.

I think Reid was realistic and honest but most of all sincere.  I don’t know that I believe Ed Swiderski is all that sincere.

Reid was honoured with a party thrown for him for his cover of Where Magazine in Philadelphia.
